Koji je najveći hrvatski vaterpolski derbi u zemlji aktualnih svjetskih prvaka? – na to pitanje Vjekoslav Kobešćak, jugov trener, odgovorio je bez razmišljanja: Jug i Mladost.

Kobešćak je danas trener Jug Croatia osiguranja. Prije tri godine je stigao u Gruž, i to nakon što je 32 godine proveo u Mladosti. I kad se to zna – mnogi će reći kako je subjektivan te je morao dodatno argumentirati svoju tvrdnju, a on, kaže, iznosi samo svima dobro poznate činjenice.

Mladost je na kraju prošlog stoljeća (tisućljeća) proglašena za najuspješniji svjetski vaterpolski klub. ‘Žapci’ su sedam puta osvajali naslov prvaka Europe, dva puta Kup kupova, tri puta europski Superkup, dva puta Comen Cup. Kasnije su, u novom stoljeću, i to 2001. osvojili i LEN-a kup.

Jug se u prošlom stoljeću mogao pohvaliti samo s jednim europskim naslovom prvaka Europe, ali u novom stoljeću daleko je ispred ostalih hrvatskih klubova. Samo je PRO Recco uspješniji po broju naslova (šest, a Jug CO tri – 2001., 2006. i 2016.). Jug ima i dva Superkupa te LEN kup. Još je četiri puta bio u finalu najelitnijeg europskog klupskog natjecanja.

- Povijest je nekome breme, nekome ne. Kad se to uzme u obzir, više je bila breme Mladosti nego Jugu. Međutim, gleda se aktualni trenutak. To je sad i najvažnije, a tu je Jug uspješniji – jasan je Kobešćak.

Najviše puta u finalu domaćeg prvenstva igrali su Mladost i Jug CO. Ovo je njihovo 14. veliko finale. Na drugom mjestu je finale Jug CO – Primorje, koje smo gledali (samo) šest puta. Ovo je 27. finale domaćeg prvenstva. Niti jedno nije prošlo bez Mladosti i(li) Juga. U prethodnih 26 samo tri puta pokal prvaka nisu podigli Mladost i(li) Jug CO (Primorje dva puta te POŠK jednom).

- Mladost je lošije počela ovu sezonu. Ispala iz Europe, nije se plasirana na završni turnir Kupa, međutim, poslije je igrala vrlo dobro u regionalnoj ligi. Zasluženo je izbacila u polufinalu hercegnovski Jadran te se plasirana u finale i bila naš suparnik u Triglav ligi u kojoj smo obranili naslov (Jug CO je prvi put osvojio naslov sa svim pobjedama).

- Mladost igra bolje nego u prvom dijelu sezone, ali i mi igramo bolje. Očekivano, jer smo nova momčad, koja je doživjela promjene u odnosu na dvije prethodne sezone – kazao je Kobešćak. 

Ne bježi jugov trener od uloge favorita. Složit će se kako je njegova momčad baš veliki favorit da obrani i posljednji, treći trofej ove sezone te ostvari cilj. Zbog toga će možda finale biti zanimljivo više po pitanju može li Jug CO i do naslova prvaka Hrvatske stići sa svim pobjedama, a što mu je uspjelo u Kupu Hrvatske i Triglav Regionalnoj ligi?

Prva utakmica finalne serije počinje danas u Gružu s početkom u 18 sati (prijenos na HTV 2). U finalu domaćeg prvenstva igrat će sedam od trinaest zlatnih sa SP-a u Budimpešti. U toj ‘utakmici’ Jug CO vodi protiv Mladosti 6:1 (Bijač, Macan, Fatović, Lončar, Joković i Garcia – Marcelić). U ‘utakmici’ tko ima više naslova prvaka Hrvatske Jug CO vodi s 13:10.

Koji je najveći hrvatski vaterpolski derbi u zemlji aktualnih svjetskih prvaka? – na to pitanje Vjekoslav Kobešćak, jugov trener, odgovorio je bez razmišljanja: Jug i Mladost.

Kobešćak je danas trener Jug Croatia osiguranja. Prije tri godine je stigao u Gruž, i to nakon što je 32 godine proveo u Mladosti. I kad se to zna – mnogi će reći kako je subjektivan te je morao dodatno argumentirati svoju tvrdnju, a on, kaže, iznosi samo svima dobro poznate činjenice.

Mladost je na kraju prošlog stoljeća (tisućljeća) proglašena za najuspješniji svjetski vaterpolski klub. ‘Žapci’ su sedam puta osvajali naslov prvaka Europe, dva puta Kup kupova, tri puta europski Superkup, dva puta Comen Cup. Kasnije su, u novom stoljeću, i to 2001. osvojili i LEN-a kup.

Jug se u prošlom stoljeću mogao pohvaliti samo s jednim europskim naslovom prvaka Europe, ali u novom stoljeću daleko je ispred ostalih hrvatskih klubova. Samo je PRO Recco uspješniji po broju naslova (šest, a Jug CO tri – 2001., 2006. i 2016.). Jug ima i dva Superkupa te LEN kup. Još je četiri puta bio u finalu najelitnijeg europskog klupskog natjecanja.

- Povijest je nekome breme, nekome ne. Kad se to uzme u obzir, više je bila breme Mladosti nego Jugu. Međutim, gleda se aktualni trenutak. To je sad i najvažnije, a tu je Jug uspješniji – jasan je Kobešćak.

Najviše puta u finalu domaćeg prvenstva igrali su Mladost i Jug CO. Ovo je njihovo 14. veliko finale. Na drugom mjestu je finale Jug CO – Primorje, koje smo gledali (samo) šest puta. Ovo je 27. finale domaćeg prvenstva. Niti jedno nije prošlo bez Mladosti i(li) Juga. U prethodnih 26 samo tri puta pokal prvaka nisu podigli Mladost i(li) Jug CO (Primorje dva puta te POŠK jednom).

- Mladost je lošije počela ovu sezonu. Ispala iz Europe, nije se plasirana na završni turnir Kupa, međutim, poslije je igrala vrlo dobro u regionalnoj ligi. Zasluženo je izbacila u polufinalu hercegnovski Jadran te se plasirana u finale i bila naš suparnik u Triglav ligi u kojoj smo obranili naslov (Jug CO je prvi put osvojio naslov sa svim pobjedama).

- Mladost igra bolje nego u prvom dijelu sezone, ali i mi igramo bolje. Očekivano, jer smo nova momčad, koja je doživjela promjene u odnosu na dvije prethodne sezone – kazao je Kobešćak. 

Ne bježi jugov trener od uloge favorita. Složit će se kako je njegova momčad baš veliki favorit da obrani i posljednji, treći trofej ove sezone te ostvari cilj. Zbog toga će možda finale biti zanimljivo više po pitanju može li Jug CO i do naslova prvaka Hrvatske stići sa svim pobjedama, a što mu je uspjelo u Kupu Hrvatske i Triglav Regionalnoj ligi?

Prva utakmica finalne serije počinje danas u Gružu s početkom u 18 sati (prijenos na HTV 2). U finalu domaćeg prvenstva igrat će sedam od trinaest zlatnih sa SP-a u Budimpešti. U toj ‘utakmici’ Jug CO vodi protiv Mladosti 6:1 (Bijač, Macan, Fatović, Lončar, Joković i Garcia – Marcelić). U ‘utakmici’ tko ima više naslova prvaka Hrvatske Jug CO vodi s 13:10.
