Hokejaši Njemačke napravili su najveće iznenađenje olimpijskog turnira u Pjongčangu izbacivši u četvrtfinalu Švedsku pogotkom Patricka Reimera u drugoj minuti produžetka za 4-3 (2-0, 0-0, 1-3, 0-1) te će u polufinalu igrati protiv Kanade koja je u srijedu s minimalnih 1-0 (0-0, 0-0, 1-0) svladala Finsku.

U drugom polufinalu sastat će se reprezentacija Češke i momčad Olimpijskih sportaša iz Rusije. Česi su do pobjede 3-2 nad
SAD-om stigli u raspucavanju, dok su Rusi s uvjerljivih 6-1 nadigrali Norvešku.

Njemačka je do posljednje trećine dvoboja s favoriziranim Šveđanima stigla s dva pogotka prednosti zahvaljujući pogocima Christiana Ehrhoffa (14) i Marcela Noebelsa (15). Kako su Nijemci dan prije igrali utakmicu osmine finala protiv Švicarske, a Šveđani se odmarali zahvaljujući osvojenom prvom mjestu u grupnoj fazi s maksimalnih devet bodova, u trećoj trećini svježina švedskih hokejaša došla je do izražaja.

Anton Lander (47) je samanjio zaostatak Šveđana na 1-2. Nijemci su brzo opet došli do dva pogotka prednosti golom Dominika Kahuna (49), ali su Patrik Hersley (50) i Mikael Wikstrand (52) uspjeli Švedskoj donijeti barem produžetak. Nakon minute i pol igre "četiri na četiri" 35-godišnji Patrick Reimer postigao je pogodak kojim su Nijemci prvi put od ujedinjenja ušli u borbu za odličja.

Njemačka reprezentacija je dvaput u povijesti osvojila brončano odličje, na Igrama 1932. u Lake Placidu i 1976. u Innsbrucku. Nijemci će u petak (13.10 sati po hrvatskom vremenu) u polufinalu igrati protiv Kanade.

Kanađani su u polufinale došli zahvaljujući pogotku Maxima Noreaua u prvoj minuti posljednje trećine. Iako je finski vratar Mikko Koskinen obranio 29 od 30 udaraca, to njegovoj reprezentaciji nije bilo dovoljno za pobjedu, jer su njegovi suparnici ostavili kanadsku mrežu netaknutom. Ben Scrivens je u prve 24 minute obranio šest udaraca, a jedan od ovosezonskih vratara Medveščaka Kevin Poulin je u preostalih 36 minuta zaustavio još 15 pokušaja finskih hokejaša.

Kanada u Pjongčangu lovi treći uzastopni naslov olimpijskih prvaka, a ukupno deseto zlato.

Hokejaši Njemačke napravili su najveće iznenađenje olimpijskog turnira u Pjongčangu izbacivši u četvrtfinalu Švedsku pogotkom Patricka Reimera u drugoj minuti produžetka za 4-3 (2-0, 0-0, 1-3, 0-1) te će u polufinalu igrati protiv Kanade koja je u srijedu s minimalnih 1-0 (0-0, 0-0, 1-0) svladala Finsku.

U drugom polufinalu sastat će se reprezentacija Češke i momčad Olimpijskih sportaša iz Rusije. Česi su do pobjede 3-2 nad
SAD-om stigli u raspucavanju, dok su Rusi s uvjerljivih 6-1 nadigrali Norvešku.

Njemačka je do posljednje trećine dvoboja s favoriziranim Šveđanima stigla s dva pogotka prednosti zahvaljujući pogocima Christiana Ehrhoffa (14) i Marcela Noebelsa (15). Kako su Nijemci dan prije igrali utakmicu osmine finala protiv Švicarske, a Šveđani se odmarali zahvaljujući osvojenom prvom mjestu u grupnoj fazi s maksimalnih devet bodova, u trećoj trećini svježina švedskih hokejaša došla je do izražaja.

Anton Lander (47) je samanjio zaostatak Šveđana na 1-2. Nijemci su brzo opet došli do dva pogotka prednosti golom Dominika Kahuna (49), ali su Patrik Hersley (50) i Mikael Wikstrand (52) uspjeli Švedskoj donijeti barem produžetak. Nakon minute i pol igre "četiri na četiri" 35-godišnji Patrick Reimer postigao je pogodak kojim su Nijemci prvi put od ujedinjenja ušli u borbu za odličja.

Njemačka reprezentacija je dvaput u povijesti osvojila brončano odličje, na Igrama 1932. u Lake Placidu i 1976. u Innsbrucku. Nijemci će u petak (13.10 sati po hrvatskom vremenu) u polufinalu igrati protiv Kanade.

Kanađani su u polufinale došli zahvaljujući pogotku Maxima Noreaua u prvoj minuti posljednje trećine. Iako je finski vratar Mikko Koskinen obranio 29 od 30 udaraca, to njegovoj reprezentaciji nije bilo dovoljno za pobjedu, jer su njegovi suparnici ostavili kanadsku mrežu netaknutom. Ben Scrivens je u prve 24 minute obranio šest udaraca, a jedan od ovosezonskih vratara Medveščaka Kevin Poulin je u preostalih 36 minuta zaustavio još 15 pokušaja finskih hokejaša.

Kanada u Pjongčangu lovi treći uzastopni naslov olimpijskih prvaka, a ukupno deseto zlato.
