Ni sve češće reakcije stanovnika otoka Hvara, ni peticija Starograđana koja je s ciljem zaustavljanja propadanja plivačkog maratona "Faros" i sređivanja djelovanja udruge "Međunarodno prvenstvo Hrvatske u daljinskom plivanju – Faros maraton" nisu polučile nikakav rezultat.

"Otac maratona" Vicko Šoljan (87) i dalje ustrajava držati sve konce u svojim rukama, a to očito više ne može s obzirom na životnu dob, udruga trpi i posljedice "isparavanja" višemilijunskog iznosa s njezina računa, zbog čega se protiv nekoliko osoba već duže vrijeme vode kazneni postupci. U Starom Gradu će reći da je pravda spora, ali dostižna.

No, lani je 44. maraton, nakon brojnih upravljačkih i organizacijskih problema, ipak održan, a nova predsjednica udruge Marcela Dragičević tada je najavljivala bolje dane, što se nije dogodilo. Sada to ne želi komentirati, ali činjenica je da se u međuvremenu ništa nije pomaknulo s mrtve točke, a sve je manje šansi da će se ta sportsko-turistička manifestacija ove godine uopće održati.

Otočani s obzirom na aktualno stanje s pravom strahuju da bi Stari Grad naposljetku mogao nestati s karte sjedišta državnih sportskih saveza i pitaju se nisu li lanjski pobjednici, Splićanin Grgo Mujan i Njemica Angela Maurer, ujedno i posljednji šampioni svjetski poznatog maratona. Gradonačelnik Antonio Škarpa kaže da je ova koronarna godina bez sumnje donijela i dodatne probleme, a što se organizacije tiče čini mu se da neki jednostavno moraju udariti u dno da bi se onda "rekuperali". Naravno, to oslikava upravo ono o čemu otok već nekoliko godina bruji iako je bilo otvorenih prijedloga da se "Faros" da u ruke hvarskih maratonaca, onog morskog Tonija Pavičića Donkića i kopnenog Janeza Maroevića, ali ni od toga – ništa.

– Unatoč našim pokušajima da se uspostavi komunikacija između priređivača utrke (udruge "Faros maraton"), gradonačelnika Škarpe, osnivača maratona Vicka Šoljana i predstavnika Hrvatskog saveza daljinskog plivanja (HSDP), radi čega je naš predsjednik Milan Žužić u dva navrata putovao iz Poreča u Stari Grad, to se nije ostvarilo. Nažalost, do informacija o sudbini ovogodišnjeg maratona nismo uspjeli doći ni drugim kanalima. Mi bismo u HSDP-u voljeli da se ta utrka održi i da se ne prekine lijepa tradicija. Svakako smo spremni pomoći, najviše koliko je to moguće u situaciji uzrokovanoj koronavirusom – kazala je Karla Šitić, tajnica HSDP-a.

I taj sportski savez osjetio je svu težinu sadašnje situacije, ali unatoč tome uspijeva realizirati velik dio natjecanja planiranih za 2020. godinu. Kalendar natjecanja je djelomično morao biti mijenjan jer su neke utrke otpale, u prvom redu zbog bojazni lokalnih zajednica od širenja epidemije.

Iz tih razloga otkazana su nadmetanja u Vrsima, Viru, Poreču i Rovinju te utrka Novigrad – Maslenica. Isto tako, ovogodišnji "CRO CUP" je u početku bio planiran s 11 utrka, da bi nakon toga bio smanjen na devet, a u konačnici pao na samo njih sedam.

– Raduje nas što će HSDP, bez obzira na nedaće koje nosi ova sezona, uspjeti održati sva planirana prvenstva Hrvatske na otvorenim vodama, a među njima su i neka koja su se ove godine prvi put našla u kalendaru natjecanja. Nažalost, sudbina naših ovogodišnjih natjecanja u daljinskom plivanju u bazenima je vrlo upitna i najvjerojatnije se neće moći ni održati. Vjerujemo da ćemo na kraju sezone, koncem rujna u Zadru, ipak svi biti zadovoljni, tim više što smo ove godine imali nešto veći broj natjecatelja nego što je to bio slučaj prethodnih godina – zaključila je Šitić.

Ni sve češće reakcije stanovnika otoka Hvara, ni peticija Starograđana koja je s ciljem zaustavljanja propadanja plivačkog maratona "Faros" i sređivanja djelovanja udruge "Međunarodno prvenstvo Hrvatske u daljinskom plivanju – Faros maraton" nisu polučile nikakav rezultat.

"Otac maratona" Vicko Šoljan (87) i dalje ustrajava držati sve konce u svojim rukama, a to očito više ne može s obzirom na životnu dob, udruga trpi i posljedice "isparavanja" višemilijunskog iznosa s njezina računa, zbog čega se protiv nekoliko osoba već duže vrijeme vode kazneni postupci. U Starom Gradu će reći da je pravda spora, ali dostižna.

No, lani je 44. maraton, nakon brojnih upravljačkih i organizacijskih problema, ipak održan, a nova predsjednica udruge Marcela Dragičević tada je najavljivala bolje dane, što se nije dogodilo. Sada to ne želi komentirati, ali činjenica je da se u međuvremenu ništa nije pomaknulo s mrtve točke, a sve je manje šansi da će se ta sportsko-turistička manifestacija ove godine uopće održati.

Otočani s obzirom na aktualno stanje s pravom strahuju da bi Stari Grad naposljetku mogao nestati s karte sjedišta državnih sportskih saveza i pitaju se nisu li lanjski pobjednici, Splićanin Grgo Mujan i Njemica Angela Maurer, ujedno i posljednji šampioni svjetski poznatog maratona. Gradonačelnik Antonio Škarpa kaže da je ova koronarna godina bez sumnje donijela i dodatne probleme, a što se organizacije tiče čini mu se da neki jednostavno moraju udariti u dno da bi se onda "rekuperali". Naravno, to oslikava upravo ono o čemu otok već nekoliko godina bruji iako je bilo otvorenih prijedloga da se "Faros" da u ruke hvarskih maratonaca, onog morskog Tonija Pavičića Donkića i kopnenog Janeza Maroevića, ali ni od toga – ništa.

– Unatoč našim pokušajima da se uspostavi komunikacija između priređivača utrke (udruge "Faros maraton"), gradonačelnika Škarpe, osnivača maratona Vicka Šoljana i predstavnika Hrvatskog saveza daljinskog plivanja (HSDP), radi čega je naš predsjednik Milan Žužić u dva navrata putovao iz Poreča u Stari Grad, to se nije ostvarilo. Nažalost, do informacija o sudbini ovogodišnjeg maratona nismo uspjeli doći ni drugim kanalima. Mi bismo u HSDP-u voljeli da se ta utrka održi i da se ne prekine lijepa tradicija. Svakako smo spremni pomoći, najviše koliko je to moguće u situaciji uzrokovanoj koronavirusom – kazala je Karla Šitić, tajnica HSDP-a.

I taj sportski savez osjetio je svu težinu sadašnje situacije, ali unatoč tome uspijeva realizirati velik dio natjecanja planiranih za 2020. godinu. Kalendar natjecanja je djelomično morao biti mijenjan jer su neke utrke otpale, u prvom redu zbog bojazni lokalnih zajednica od širenja epidemije.

Iz tih razloga otkazana su nadmetanja u Vrsima, Viru, Poreču i Rovinju te utrka Novigrad – Maslenica. Isto tako, ovogodišnji "CRO CUP" je u početku bio planiran s 11 utrka, da bi nakon toga bio smanjen na devet, a u konačnici pao na samo njih sedam.

– Raduje nas što će HSDP, bez obzira na nedaće koje nosi ova sezona, uspjeti održati sva planirana prvenstva Hrvatske na otvorenim vodama, a među njima su i neka koja su se ove godine prvi put našla u kalendaru natjecanja. Nažalost, sudbina naših ovogodišnjih natjecanja u daljinskom plivanju u bazenima je vrlo upitna i najvjerojatnije se neće moći ni održati. Vjerujemo da ćemo na kraju sezone, koncem rujna u Zadru, ipak svi biti zadovoljni, tim više što smo ove godine imali nešto veći broj natjecatelja nego što je to bio slučaj prethodnih godina – zaključila je Šitić.

Sve je izglednije da se nakon 44 godine neće održati tradicionalno nadmetanje u Starom Gradu: novac ‘ispario‘, plivači tuguju, ‘Faros‘ ide u povijest

Ni sve češće reakcije stanovnika otoka Hvara, ni peticija Starograđana koja je s ciljem zaustavljanja propadanja plivačkog maratona "Faros" i sređivanja djelovanja udruge "Međunarodno prvenstvo Hrvatske u daljinskom plivanju – Faros maraton" nisu polučile nikakav rezultat.

"Otac maratona" Vicko Šoljan (87) i dalje ustrajava držati sve konce u svojim rukama, a to očito više ne može s obzirom na životnu dob, udruga trpi i posljedice "isparavanja" višemilijunskog iznosa s njezina računa, zbog čega se protiv nekoliko osoba već duže vrijeme vode kazneni postupci. U Starom Gradu će reći da je pravda spora, ali dostižna.

No, lani je 44. maraton, nakon brojnih upravljačkih i organizacijskih problema, ipak održan, a nova predsjednica udruge Marcela Dragičević tada je naja...
