Na američkim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama u atletici u Eugenu subota je bila koban dan za svjetskog prvaka na 100 m i 200 m Tysona Gaya, koji je u četvrtfinalu utrke na 200 metara morao odustati zbog ozljede.

Nakon samo 40 metara Tyson Gay se uhvatio za lijevi bedreni mišić te se srušio na zemlju, gdje je ležao nekoliko minuta.
- Još prije početka utrke osjetio sam da me zateže bedreni mišić i imao sam vrlo loš predosjećaj. U sljedećih nekoliko dana saznat ćemo koliko je ova ozljeda ozbiljna - izjavio je Tyson Gay.

Tako mu je propao san da na Olimpijskim igrama u Pekingu ponovi uspjeh sa prošlogodišnjeg Svjetskog prvenstva u Osaki kad je osvojio zlatne medalje na 100 i 200 metara. Gay će tako na OI u Pekingu nastupiti na 100 m te u štafeti 4x100 metara. Jedan od najboljih atletičara svih vremena na 110m prepone 37-godišnji Allen Johnson nije uspio četvrti puta izboriti nastup na olimpijskim igrama.

Na američkim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama u Eugenu odustao je već u prvom krugu zbog ozljede noge.
- Već od prve prepone bolovi su bili sve jači i jači. Ovo je veliko razočaranje za mene - kazao je Allen Johnson, koji u svojoj kolekciji ima zlato sa Olimpijskih igara u Atlanti 1996., te četiri naslova svjetskog prvaka.

Na američkim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama u atletici u Eugenu subota je bila koban dan za svjetskog prvaka na 100 m i 200 m Tysona Gaya, koji je u četvrtfinalu utrke na 200 metara morao odustati zbog ozljede.

Nakon samo 40 metara Tyson Gay se uhvatio za lijevi bedreni mišić te se srušio na zemlju, gdje je ležao nekoliko minuta.
- Još prije početka utrke osjetio sam da me zateže bedreni mišić i imao sam vrlo loš predosjećaj. U sljedećih nekoliko dana saznat ćemo koliko je ova ozljeda ozbiljna - izjavio je Tyson Gay.

Tako mu je propao san da na Olimpijskim igrama u Pekingu ponovi uspjeh sa prošlogodišnjeg Svjetskog prvenstva u Osaki kad je osvojio zlatne medalje na 100 i 200 metara. Gay će tako na OI u Pekingu nastupiti na 100 m te u štafeti 4x100 metara. Jedan od najboljih atletičara svih vremena na 110m prepone 37-godišnji Allen Johnson nije uspio četvrti puta izboriti nastup na olimpijskim igrama.

Na američkim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama u Eugenu odustao je već u prvom krugu zbog ozljede noge.
- Već od prve prepone bolovi su bili sve jači i jači. Ovo je veliko razočaranje za mene - kazao je Allen Johnson, koji u svojoj kolekciji ima zlato sa Olimpijskih igara u Atlanti 1996., te četiri naslova svjetskog prvaka.

Na američkim olimpijskim kvalifikacijama u atletici u Eugenu subota je bila koban dan za svjetskog prvaka na 100 m i 200 m Tysona Gaya, koji je u četvrtfinalu utrke na 200 metara morao odustati zbog ozljede.
