Kada o njemu na pontonu Gusara govore, boja glasa se promijeni. Ni o kome drugome ne priča se tako. Riječ je o nekom “koktelu” strahopoštovanja, divljenja, nostalgije i tuge, a opet ponosa. 

Gusaraši koji su dotaknuli lik i djelo velikog Zlatka Celenta zauvijek ga nose u srcu, poseban je to bio lik, sudeći po pričama starih veslača.

Danas je evo prošlo 30 godina od njegove tragične smrti, poginuo je u prometnoj nesreći na otoku Pagu 25. veljače 1992. godine kao izbornik reprezentacije. Trebao je biti izbornik na Olimpijskim igrama 1992., zamijenio ga je Romano Bajlo.

- Celent je od mene bio stariji 13 godina. Kada sam ja počeo veslati, on je bio već legenda. Jednom smo on i ja čak bili prvaci Italije, iako to nigdje ne piše - kazao je bivši Gusarov veslač Sead Marušić.

Zlatko Celent je imao 14 godina kada se upisao u Gusar, bilo je to 26. lipnja 1966. godine. Nije odmah uzeo veslo u ruke, s 12 godina počeo je trenirati košarku. Međutim, život ga je odveo u veslanje, u sport u kojemu je ostavio neizbrisiv trag.

Svjedoci tog vremena pamte da se pojavio suhonjav, koštunjav, ali nadasve žilav mladić čija je duga kosa vijorila na vjetru. Kad je došao do seniorske konkurencije trenirao ga je Tomislav Mišo Bilić. Veliki Gusarov trener odgojio je brojne generacije vrhunskih veslača, a umro je 20. kolovoza prošle godine. Pod njegovom dirigentskom palicom Celent je napredovao, grabio velikim koracima prema vrhu. A najveći rezultat ostvarili su na Olimpijskim igrama u Moskvi 1980. godine kada su Celent i Duško Mrduljaš s kormilarom Josipom Reićem, a pod budnim šjor Mišinom okom, osvojili olimpijsku broncu.

Ta završna, finalna regata dvojaca s kormilarom u Moskvi je krenula 27. srpnja u 12.10 sati pred 15.000 gledatelja. Celent i Mrduljaš su došli u Moskvu s tri “drvene” medalje, tri četvrta mjesta sa svjetskih prvenstava i Olimpijskih igara u Montrealu. Vjetar je puhao s boka i u krmu. U Montrealu su loše startali, pustili ispred sebe tri posade, sada to nije bio slučaj. Splitski veslači vodili su na 500 i na tisuću metara. Na 1.500 metara ipak je posada DR Njemačke izbila na čelu, a drugi je bio SSSR. Pokušali su dignuti broj zaveslaja, u završnici stići Sovjete, Nijemci su već odmaglili, ali ostali su treći. Velika medalja, bronca. I najveći trenutak karijere za svu trojicu.

Celent je nastupio na Igrama 1976., 1980., 1984. i 1988.... Ima nebrojeno nastupa na svjetskim prvenstvima...

Na državnim je prvenstvima osvojio čak 25 medalja, bio je državni reprezentativac od 1973. do 1989. godine. S Mrduljašem i Reićem osvojio je i zlato na Mediteranskim igrama u svome Splitu 1979. godine.

Nakon veslačke karijere nastavio je raditi kao trener. Bio je veliki radoholičar. Trenirali su veslači više nego ikad, dolazili bi kući i padali od umora, ostalo je to u njima. Njegov je moto bio da težak rad donosi veliki rezultat.

Njemu u čast Gusar svake godine organizira regatu Kupa Dalmacije “Memorijal Zlatko Celent”. Trebala je biti održana u nedjelju, 27. veljače, ali je zbog loše vremenske prognoze odgođena za 13. ožujka.

Kada o njemu na pontonu Gusara govore, boja glasa se promijeni. Ni o kome drugome ne priča se tako. Riječ je o nekom “koktelu” strahopoštovanja, divljenja, nostalgije i tuge, a opet ponosa. 

Gusaraši koji su dotaknuli lik i djelo velikog Zlatka Celenta zauvijek ga nose u srcu, poseban je to bio lik, sudeći po pričama starih veslača.

Danas je evo prošlo 30 godina od njegove tragične smrti, poginuo je u prometnoj nesreći na otoku Pagu 25. veljače 1992. godine kao izbornik reprezentacije. Trebao je biti izbornik na Olimpijskim igrama 1992., zamijenio ga je Romano Bajlo.

- Celent je od mene bio stariji 13 godina. Kada sam ja počeo veslati, on je bio već legenda. Jednom smo on i ja čak bili prvaci Italije, iako to nigdje ne piše - kazao je bivši Gusarov veslač Sead Marušić.

Zlatko Celent je imao 14 godina kada se upisao u Gusar, bilo je to 26. lipnja 1966. godine. Nije odmah uzeo veslo u ruke, s 12 godina počeo je trenirati košarku. Međutim, život ga je odveo u veslanje, u sport u kojemu je ostavio neizbrisiv trag.

Svjedoci tog vremena pamte da se pojavio suhonjav, koštunjav, ali nadasve žilav mladić čija je duga kosa vijorila na vjetru. Kad je došao do seniorske konkurencije trenirao ga je Tomislav Mišo Bilić. Veliki Gusarov trener odgojio je brojne generacije vrhunskih veslača, a umro je 20. kolovoza prošle godine. Pod njegovom dirigentskom palicom Celent je napredovao, grabio velikim koracima prema vrhu. A najveći rezultat ostvarili su na Olimpijskim igrama u Moskvi 1980. godine kada su Celent i Duško Mrduljaš s kormilarom Josipom Reićem, a pod budnim šjor Mišinom okom, osvojili olimpijsku broncu.

Ta završna, finalna regata dvojaca s kormilarom u Moskvi je krenula 27. srpnja u 12.10 sati pred 15.000 gledatelja. Celent i Mrduljaš su došli u Moskvu s tri “drvene” medalje, tri četvrta mjesta sa svjetskih prvenstava i Olimpijskih igara u Montrealu. Vjetar je puhao s boka i u krmu. U Montrealu su loše startali, pustili ispred sebe tri posade, sada to nije bio slučaj. Splitski veslači vodili su na 500 i na tisuću metara. Na 1.500 metara ipak je posada DR Njemačke izbila na čelu, a drugi je bio SSSR. Pokušali su dignuti broj zaveslaja, u završnici stići Sovjete, Nijemci su već odmaglili, ali ostali su treći. Velika medalja, bronca. I najveći trenutak karijere za svu trojicu.

Celent je nastupio na Igrama 1976., 1980., 1984. i 1988.... Ima nebrojeno nastupa na svjetskim prvenstvima...

Na državnim je prvenstvima osvojio čak 25 medalja, bio je državni reprezentativac od 1973. do 1989. godine. S Mrduljašem i Reićem osvojio je i zlato na Mediteranskim igrama u svome Splitu 1979. godine.

Nakon veslačke karijere nastavio je raditi kao trener. Bio je veliki radoholičar. Trenirali su veslači više nego ikad, dolazili bi kući i padali od umora, ostalo je to u njima. Njegov je moto bio da težak rad donosi veliki rezultat.

Njemu u čast Gusar svake godine organizira regatu Kupa Dalmacije “Memorijal Zlatko Celent”. Trebala je biti održana u nedjelju, 27. veljače, ali je zbog loše vremenske prognoze odgođena za 13. ožujka.

Kada o njemu na pontonu Gusara govore, boja glasa se promijeni. Ni o kome drugome ne priča se tako. Riječ je o nekom “koktelu” strahopoštovanja, divljenja, nostalgije i tuge, a opet ponosa. 

Gusaraši koji su dotaknuli lik i djelo velikog Zlatka Celenta zauvijek ga nose u srcu, poseban je to bio lik, sudeći po pričama starih veslača.

Danas je evo prošlo 30 godina od njegove tragične smrti, poginuo je u prometnoj nesreći na otoku Pagu 25. veljače 1992. godine kao izbornik reprezentacije. Trebao je biti izbornik na Olimpijskim igrama 1992., zamijenio ga je Romano Bajlo.

- Celent je od mene bio stariji 13 godina. Kada sam ja počeo veslati, on je bio već legenda. Jednom smo on i ja čak bili prvaci Italije, iako to nigdje ne piše - kazao je bivši Gusarov veslač Sead Marušić....
