Hrvatska je na Europskom prvenstvu u rukometu na kraju završila na osmom mjestu. Izbornik Hrvoje Horvat je nakon svega u emisiji RTL televizije morao odgovarati na brojna neugodna pitanja koja su mu postavljali legendarni hrvatski rukometaši koji su bili gosti u studiju.

- Hrvatska reprezentacija ne može biti zadovoljna s osmim mjestom bez obzira bez obzira na okolnosti. Uvijek idemo po medalju i svi od nas to očekuju. Letvicu je bitno podizati visoko. Ako ne postaviš letvicu za svjetski rekord, ne možeš ga ni srušiti. Prije Eura nam je cilj bio da uđemo u borbu za medalje, vidjeli smo se na postolju. Sanjali smo da budemo prva generacija koja će se kući vratiti s europskim zlatom, a onda su se stvari promijenile, kao i naša očekivanja - rekao je u uvodu Horvat pa dodao:

- S Francuzima smo uspjeli na početku ući u kakav-takav rat. Zbog nervoze ili neiskustva smo na početku utakmice bili pod dojmom, a onda smo se oporavili, ali ih nismo uspjeli uloviti. Onda su nam u sred noći dolazili igrači koji su se testirali. Nije bilo lako i kapa do poda njima. Pobijedili smo Srbiju, riješili Ukrajinu i došli u drugi krug u kojem je otpalo još par igrača. Uvukla se nesigurnost i to se vidjelo protiv Crne Gore. Kada ti padne samopouzdanje i izgledaš kao da se ne boriš. Nismo ni imali pripremu prije Crne Gore. Igrači su s čuvarima bili u sobama i nismo mogli raditi s njima. Slali smo im videe preko WhatsAppa da vide o čemu se radi. Crnogorci su prije nas prošli sve to.

Pero Metličić se nije složio s izbornikom.

- Čuo sam samo opravdanja. Imamo probleme, korona, nije to ta ekipa, nije ovo, nije ono... Nitko mi ne može dokazati i uvjeriti me da su Crna Gora i Nizozemska bolji od nas. Oni su nakon toga uvjerljivo gubili. Sigurno nije bilo lako, ali mislim da smo danas trebali minimalno igrati za peto mjesto. Svaka čast Crnoj Gori i Nizozemskoj, ali mi smo s te dvije pobjede u igri za Svjetsko prvenstvo. Igrači koji su bili tamo su dovoljno kvalitetni da dobiju te dvije utakmice - rekao je Metličić pa dodao:

- Sve što kažemo je dobronamjerno. Ne mogu lagati. Moramo stvari postaviti na svoje mjesto. Onakva utakmica s Crnom Gorom, a imali ste tri dana za pripreme. Kakva god bila, nije stvar u tome da smo igrali loše, nego u pristupu. Ekipa nije došla na teren i to je razočaranje. Nitko ne može naći opravdanje za to. Igrali smo dobro protiv Danske, ali što imamo od toga? Nema bodova. Nitko nije očekivao da dobijemo Dansku i Francusku, ali Crnu Goru i Nizozemsku smo morali dobiti.

Izbornik Horvat se branio od ovih oštrih riječi iza kojih je stao i Goran Šprem.

- Na koliko ste prvenstava vi mijenjali cijelu ekipu i da niti jednu utakmicu niste odigrali u istom sastavu? Obrana nam je trebala biti forte, a do Crne Gore smo promijenili tri postave. Devet igrača iz sredine obrane su otpali. Nemaš vremena za dogovoriti neke stvari. Prelako smo primali golove i to je unijelo nervozu. Promašivali smo zicere u napadu... Iskreno, mislio sam da ću vas zvati iduće - rekao je Horvat gostima u studiju pa objasnio svoju izjavu kako su 'začepili usta kritičarima':

- To je bila ishitrena reakcija koja je dobila smjer u kojem nisam htio da ode. Naučio sam nešto iz te situacije.

Uslijedila je lekcija Pere Metličića:

- Sad ću te ja još nešto naučiti jer sam bio u sličnoj situaciji. Radimo svoj posao iskreno i svima nam je u interesu da hrvatski rukomet bude što bolji. Nismo te mi postavili, niti ćemo te mi smijeniti. Hrvatski rukomet nisi ni ti, ni mi. No, moram ti reći da verbalnu utakmicu nećeš dobiti nikada. Gubiš fokus s ekipe i svojih zadataka. Bio sam u toj situaciji. Uvijek su nas kritizirali, ali što da radim? Da ubijem pola Hrvatske? - poručio mu je Metličić, a Horvat se složio i ponovio da je naučio lekciju.

Hrvatska je na Europskom prvenstvu u rukometu na kraju završila na osmom mjestu. Izbornik Hrvoje Horvat je nakon svega u emisiji RTL televizije morao odgovarati na brojna neugodna pitanja koja su mu postavljali legendarni hrvatski rukometaši koji su bili gosti u studiju.

- Hrvatska reprezentacija ne može biti zadovoljna s osmim mjestom bez obzira bez obzira na okolnosti. Uvijek idemo po medalju i svi od nas to očekuju. Letvicu je bitno podizati visoko. Ako ne postaviš letvicu za svjetski rekord, ne možeš ga ni srušiti. Prije Eura nam je cilj bio da uđemo u borbu za medalje, vidjeli smo se na postolju. Sanjali smo da budemo prva generacija koja će se kući vratiti s europskim zlatom, a onda su se stvari promijenile, kao i naša očekivanja - rekao je u uvodu Horvat pa dodao:

- S Francuzima smo uspjeli na početku ući u kakav-takav rat. Zbog nervoze ili neiskustva smo na početku utakmice bili pod dojmom, a onda smo se oporavili, ali ih nismo uspjeli uloviti. Onda su nam u sred noći dolazili igrači koji su se testirali. Nije bilo lako i kapa do poda njima. Pobijedili smo Srbiju, riješili Ukrajinu i došli u drugi krug u kojem je otpalo još par igrača. Uvukla se nesigurnost i to se vidjelo protiv Crne Gore. Kada ti padne samopouzdanje i izgledaš kao da se ne boriš. Nismo ni imali pripremu prije Crne Gore. Igrači su s čuvarima bili u sobama i nismo mogli raditi s njima. Slali smo im videe preko WhatsAppa da vide o čemu se radi. Crnogorci su prije nas prošli sve to.

Pero Metličić se nije složio s izbornikom.

- Čuo sam samo opravdanja. Imamo probleme, korona, nije to ta ekipa, nije ovo, nije ono... Nitko mi ne može dokazati i uvjeriti me da su Crna Gora i Nizozemska bolji od nas. Oni su nakon toga uvjerljivo gubili. Sigurno nije bilo lako, ali mislim da smo danas trebali minimalno igrati za peto mjesto. Svaka čast Crnoj Gori i Nizozemskoj, ali mi smo s te dvije pobjede u igri za Svjetsko prvenstvo. Igrači koji su bili tamo su dovoljno kvalitetni da dobiju te dvije utakmice - rekao je Metličić pa dodao:

- Sve što kažemo je dobronamjerno. Ne mogu lagati. Moramo stvari postaviti na svoje mjesto. Onakva utakmica s Crnom Gorom, a imali ste tri dana za pripreme. Kakva god bila, nije stvar u tome da smo igrali loše, nego u pristupu. Ekipa nije došla na teren i to je razočaranje. Nitko ne može naći opravdanje za to. Igrali smo dobro protiv Danske, ali što imamo od toga? Nema bodova. Nitko nije očekivao da dobijemo Dansku i Francusku, ali Crnu Goru i Nizozemsku smo morali dobiti.

Izbornik Horvat se branio od ovih oštrih riječi iza kojih je stao i Goran Šprem.

- Na koliko ste prvenstava vi mijenjali cijelu ekipu i da niti jednu utakmicu niste odigrali u istom sastavu? Obrana nam je trebala biti forte, a do Crne Gore smo promijenili tri postave. Devet igrača iz sredine obrane su otpali. Nemaš vremena za dogovoriti neke stvari. Prelako smo primali golove i to je unijelo nervozu. Promašivali smo zicere u napadu... Iskreno, mislio sam da ću vas zvati iduće - rekao je Horvat gostima u studiju pa objasnio svoju izjavu kako su 'začepili usta kritičarima':

- To je bila ishitrena reakcija koja je dobila smjer u kojem nisam htio da ode. Naučio sam nešto iz te situacije.

Uslijedila je lekcija Pere Metličića:

- Sad ću te ja još nešto naučiti jer sam bio u sličnoj situaciji. Radimo svoj posao iskreno i svima nam je u interesu da hrvatski rukomet bude što bolji. Nismo te mi postavili, niti ćemo te mi smijeniti. Hrvatski rukomet nisi ni ti, ni mi. No, moram ti reći da verbalnu utakmicu nećeš dobiti nikada. Gubiš fokus s ekipe i svojih zadataka. Bio sam u toj situaciji. Uvijek su nas kritizirali, ali što da radim? Da ubijem pola Hrvatske? - poručio mu je Metličić, a Horvat se složio i ponovio da je naučio lekciju.

Hrvatska je na Europskom prvenstvu u rukometu na kraju završila na osmom mjestu. Izbornik Hrvoje Horvat je nakon svega u emisiji RTL televizije morao odgovarati na brojna neugodna pitanja koja su mu postavljali legendarni hrvatski rukometaši koji su bili gosti u studiju.

- Hrvatska reprezentacija ne može biti zadovoljna s osmim mjestom bez obzira bez obzira na okolnosti. Uvijek idemo po medalju i svi od nas to očekuju. Letvicu je bitno podizati visoko. Ako ne postaviš letvicu za svjetski rekord, ne možeš ga ni srušiti. Prije Eura nam je cilj bio da uđemo u borbu za medalje, vidjeli smo se na postolju. Sanjali smo da budemo prva generacija koja će se kući vratiti s europskim zlatom, a onda su se stvari promijenile, kao i naša očekivanja - rekao je u uvodu Horvat pa dodao:
