Bivši francuski policajac Daniel Nivel (68) kojeg su prije 25 godina za vrijeme Svjetskog prvenstva u Francuskoj pretukli njemački huligani, prisustvovat će 12. rujna prijateljskoj utakmici Njemačke i Francuske u Dortmundu kao gost Njemačkog nogometnog saveza (DFB).

U srijedu, 21. lipnja se obilježava godišnjica napada na francuskog policajca Daniela Nivela kojeg je prije utakmice između Njemačke i Jugoslavije za vrijeme SP-a 1998. u Lensu pretukla skupina njemačkih huligana.

Nivel je šest tjedana bio u komi i jedva je preživio. Međutim, od tada je paraliziran s jedne strane, izgubio je osjet okusa i mirisa, te je slijep na jedno oko. Četvorica huligana su osuđena na kazne od tri do deset godina zatvora.

Tadašnji njemački savezni kancelar Helmut Kohl nazvao je kukavički čin "nacionalnom sramotom". Tijekom World Cupa podršku francuskom policajcu pružio je i hrvatski izbornik Miroslav Blažević koji je na utakmice donosio kapu francuske žandarmerije. Ćiro je otkrio kako mu je kapu donio Nivelov kolega u kampu "Vatrenih".

"Svaku je večer ta kapa bila kod nekog od naših reprezentativaca u sobi i utvaram si kako je ta energija pomogla u njegovom oporavku," kazao je u jednom od intervjua Blažević koji je umro početkom veljače ove godine.

Bila je to gesta koja je oduševila svijet, a Ćirina slika s kapom bila je jedna od onih koje su obilježile "Coupe du Monde" 1998. godine. Kada se oporavio Nivel je posjetio Ćiru u Zagrebu i zahvalio mu na svemu.

Njemački nogometni savez je na godišnjicu napada pozvao Nivela na utakmicu protiv Francuske.

"Napad na Daniela Nivela prije 25 godina jedno je od najmračnijih poglavlja u povijesti njemačkog nogometa," rekao je predsjednik Njemačkog nogometnog saveza (DFB) Bernd Neuendorf.

"Poslao sam osobno pismo Danielu i Lorette Nivel i pozvao ih na utakmicu u rujnu protiv Francuske. Sretan sam što su prihvatili ovaj poziv. DFB će obitelji Nivel pružiti vrlo toplu dobrodošlicu u Dortmund," kazao je Neuendorf za DFB.

Njemački nogometni savez i Njemački nogometni muzej će tom prilikom organizirati i tematski tjedan "Nasilje u nogometu" koji ima za cilj podići svijest o problemu nasilja u nogometu.

Nakon napada DFB je između ostalog preuredio Nivelovu obiteljsku kuću i zajedno s FIFA-om, UEFA-om i Francuskim nogometnim savezom (FFF) osnovao zakladu za sprječavanje nasilja u ime Daniela Nivela. Od tada je Zaklada organizirala brojne događaje, posebice u Francuskoj, uključujući susrete nogometnih navijača i policajaca.

Danas, 68-godišnji Nivel je već nekoliko puta u prošlosti dolazio na nogometne utakmice na poziv DFB-a, uključujući Svjetsko prvenstvo 2006. u Njemačkoj i Europsko prvenstvo 2016. u Francuskoj. Prije utakmice Lige nacija 16. listopada 2018. u Parizu savezni ministar vanjskih poslova Heiko Maas odlikovao ga je Saveznim križem za zasluge.

Bivši francuski policajac Daniel Nivel (68) kojeg su prije 25 godina za vrijeme Svjetskog prvenstva u Francuskoj pretukli njemački huligani, prisustvovat će 12. rujna prijateljskoj utakmici Njemačke i Francuske u Dortmundu kao gost Njemačkog nogometnog saveza (DFB).

U srijedu, 21. lipnja se obilježava godišnjica napada na francuskog policajca Daniela Nivela kojeg je prije utakmice između Njemačke i Jugoslavije za vrijeme SP-a 1998. u Lensu pretukla skupina njemačkih huligana.

Nivel je šest tjedana bio u komi i jedva je preživio. Međutim, od tada je paraliziran s jedne strane, izgubio je osjet okusa i mirisa, te je slijep na jedno oko. Četvorica huligana su osuđena na kazne od tri do deset godina zatvora.

Tadašnji njemački savezni kancelar Helmut Kohl nazvao je kukavički čin "nacionalnom sramotom". Tijekom World Cupa podršku francuskom policajcu pružio je i hrvatski izbornik Miroslav Blažević koji je na utakmice donosio kapu francuske žandarmerije. Ćiro je otkrio kako mu je kapu donio Nivelov kolega u kampu "Vatrenih".

"Svaku je večer ta kapa bila kod nekog od naših reprezentativaca u sobi i utvaram si kako je ta energija pomogla u njegovom oporavku," kazao je u jednom od intervjua Blažević koji je umro početkom veljače ove godine.

Bila je to gesta koja je oduševila svijet, a Ćirina slika s kapom bila je jedna od onih koje su obilježile "Coupe du Monde" 1998. godine. Kada se oporavio Nivel je posjetio Ćiru u Zagrebu i zahvalio mu na svemu.

Njemački nogometni savez je na godišnjicu napada pozvao Nivela na utakmicu protiv Francuske.

"Napad na Daniela Nivela prije 25 godina jedno je od najmračnijih poglavlja u povijesti njemačkog nogometa," rekao je predsjednik Njemačkog nogometnog saveza (DFB) Bernd Neuendorf.

"Poslao sam osobno pismo Danielu i Lorette Nivel i pozvao ih na utakmicu u rujnu protiv Francuske. Sretan sam što su prihvatili ovaj poziv. DFB će obitelji Nivel pružiti vrlo toplu dobrodošlicu u Dortmund," kazao je Neuendorf za DFB.

Njemački nogometni savez i Njemački nogometni muzej će tom prilikom organizirati i tematski tjedan "Nasilje u nogometu" koji ima za cilj podići svijest o problemu nasilja u nogometu.

Nakon napada DFB je između ostalog preuredio Nivelovu obiteljsku kuću i zajedno s FIFA-om, UEFA-om i Francuskim nogometnim savezom (FFF) osnovao zakladu za sprječavanje nasilja u ime Daniela Nivela. Od tada je Zaklada organizirala brojne događaje, posebice u Francuskoj, uključujući susrete nogometnih navijača i policajaca.

Danas, 68-godišnji Nivel je već nekoliko puta u prošlosti dolazio na nogometne utakmice na poziv DFB-a, uključujući Svjetsko prvenstvo 2006. u Njemačkoj i Europsko prvenstvo 2016. u Francuskoj. Prije utakmice Lige nacija 16. listopada 2018. u Parizu savezni ministar vanjskih poslova Heiko Maas odlikovao ga je Saveznim križem za zasluge.

Bivši francuski policajac Daniel Nivel (68) kojeg su prije 25 godina za vrijeme Svjetskog prvenstva u Francuskoj pretukli njemački huligani, prisustvovat će 12. rujna prijateljskoj utakmici Njemačke i Francuske u Dortmundu kao gost Njemačkog nogometnog saveza (DFB).

U srijedu, 21. lipnja se obilježava godišnjica napada na francuskog policajca Daniela Nivela kojeg je prije utakmice između Njemačke i Jugoslavije za vrijeme SP-a 1998. u Lensu pretukla skupina njemačkih huligana.

Nivel je šest tjedana bio u komi i jedva je preživio. Međutim, od tada je paraliziran s jedne strane, izgubio je osjet okusa i mirisa, te je slijep na jedno oko. Četvorica huligana su osuđena na kazne od tri do deset godina zatvora.

Tadašnji njemački savezni kancelar Helmut Kohl nazvao je kukavički čin "nacionalnom sramotom". Tijekom World Cupa podršku francuskom policajcu pružio je i hrvatski izbornik Miroslav Blažević koji je na utakmice donosio kapu francuske žandarmerije. Ćiro je otkrio kako mu je kapu donio Nivelov kolega u kampu "Vatrenih".

"Svaku je večer ta kapa bila kod nekog od naših reprezentativaca u sobi i utvaram si kako je ta energija pomogla u njegovom oporavku," kazao je u jednom od intervjua Blažević koji je umro početkom veljače ove godine.
