Hrvatski tenisač Mario Ančić plasirao se u četvrtfinale ATP turnira u Zagrebu, u 2. kolu je uvjerljivo sa 6-1, 6-1 svladao Rusa Teimuraza Gabašvilija.

Bio je ovo drugi međusobni dvoboj Ančića i Gabašvilija i druga pobjeda našeg igrača, koji je bio uvjerljiv i u prvom susretu prošle godine koji se igrao također u dvorani, u Marseilleu.

Ančić je u prvom setu čak tri puta oduzimao servis Gabašviliju, svaki se put to dogodilo zbog odlične igre našega igrača s osnovne linije u kojoj je ponajprije sjajnim forhendima pogađao neobranjivo same kuteve igrališta. Pomogao je i Gabašvili koji je u prvom setu imao samo 33 posto ubačenog prvog servisa.

Slična se priča ponovila i u drugom setu, Ančić je potpuno slomio Gabašvilija oduzevši mu servis za vodstvo 3-1, a taj je "break" potvrdio još jednim za 5-1 i potom okončao meč nakon samo sat i osam minuta igre.

U četvrtfinalu će Ančić igrati protiv još jednog hrvatskog igrača Ivana Dodiga.

Dodig uzbacio Gulbisa

Kakav meč Ivana Dodiga! Novo veliko iznenađenje na PBZ Zagreb Indoorsu još jednom je ispisao tenisač iz Međugorja, ovog puta pobjedom nad Ernestom Gulbisom, velikim favoritom ne samo u tome susretu, već i jednim od glavnih favorita za osvajanje turnira. Hrvatski predstavnik pobijedio je sa 7:6 (3), 6:4.

- Servis mi je pomogao u ključnim trenucima i proživljavam svoj san – rekao nam je Dodig.

U meču je tenisač iz Međugorja pokazao čitavu lepezu odličnih udaraca, o reterna preko as servisa do skraćenih lopti i lobova. Definitivno se nije doimao kao netko tko je tek 425. na svijetu.

U prvome setu se našao u velikim problemima kada je kod rezultata 5:5 izgubio servis. Gulbis je servirao za set, no Dodig je uspio uzvratiti istom mjerom. Još jednom je bio u izgubljenoj poziciji kada je Gulbis poveo 3:1 u tie breaku, no sa šest poena u nizu Međugorčanin je poveo 1:0 u setovima.

- Suci su me teško oštetili kada sam servirao za set baš u ključnim trenucima. To me je jako dekoncentriralo i kasnije se nisam mogao smiriti. Sve je bilo u mojim rukama, kao da sam radio sve da izgubim meč. Dodig je samo dobro servirao, on je tek solidan igrač – procijenio je prilično egocentrični Gulbis.

- Možda i jest tako, sucima nije lako suditi na ovoj podlozi – rekao je mirni Dodig.

Do četvrtfinala je stigao kroz kvalifikacije, nanizao je nepoznatog Matwea Middelkoopa, a potom Stefana Koubeka (217.), Martina Fischera (219.), Igora Andrejeva (21.) i Ernesta Gulbisa (45.)!!! Niz vrijedan poštivanja. U trenucima dok Ančić i Gabašvili nisu dovršili meč, Dodig je izabrao.

- Radije bih igrao protiv Ančića, taj meč bi mi jako puno značio u karijeri – rekao je.

Hrvatski tenisač Mario Ančić plasirao se u četvrtfinale ATP turnira u Zagrebu, u 2. kolu je uvjerljivo sa 6-1, 6-1 svladao Rusa Teimuraza Gabašvilija.

Bio je ovo drugi međusobni dvoboj Ančića i Gabašvilija i druga pobjeda našeg igrača, koji je bio uvjerljiv i u prvom susretu prošle godine koji se igrao također u dvorani, u Marseilleu.

Ančić je u prvom setu čak tri puta oduzimao servis Gabašviliju, svaki se put to dogodilo zbog odlične igre našega igrača s osnovne linije u kojoj je ponajprije sjajnim forhendima pogađao neobranjivo same kuteve igrališta. Pomogao je i Gabašvili koji je u prvom setu imao samo 33 posto ubačenog prvog servisa.

Slična se priča ponovila i u drugom setu, Ančić je potpuno slomio Gabašvilija oduzevši mu servis za vodstvo 3-1, a taj je "break" potvrdio još jednim za 5-1 i potom okončao meč nakon samo sat i osam minuta igre.

U četvrtfinalu će Ančić igrati protiv još jednog hrvatskog igrača Ivana Dodiga.

Dodig uzbacio Gulbisa

Kakav meč Ivana Dodiga! Novo veliko iznenađenje na PBZ Zagreb Indoorsu još jednom je ispisao tenisač iz Međugorja, ovog puta pobjedom nad Ernestom Gulbisom, velikim favoritom ne samo u tome susretu, već i jednim od glavnih favorita za osvajanje turnira. Hrvatski predstavnik pobijedio je sa 7:6 (3), 6:4.

- Servis mi je pomogao u ključnim trenucima i proživljavam svoj san – rekao nam je Dodig.

U meču je tenisač iz Međugorja pokazao čitavu lepezu odličnih udaraca, o reterna preko as servisa do skraćenih lopti i lobova. Definitivno se nije doimao kao netko tko je tek 425. na svijetu.

U prvome setu se našao u velikim problemima kada je kod rezultata 5:5 izgubio servis. Gulbis je servirao za set, no Dodig je uspio uzvratiti istom mjerom. Još jednom je bio u izgubljenoj poziciji kada je Gulbis poveo 3:1 u tie breaku, no sa šest poena u nizu Međugorčanin je poveo 1:0 u setovima.

- Suci su me teško oštetili kada sam servirao za set baš u ključnim trenucima. To me je jako dekoncentriralo i kasnije se nisam mogao smiriti. Sve je bilo u mojim rukama, kao da sam radio sve da izgubim meč. Dodig je samo dobro servirao, on je tek solidan igrač – procijenio je prilično egocentrični Gulbis.

- Možda i jest tako, sucima nije lako suditi na ovoj podlozi – rekao je mirni Dodig.

Do četvrtfinala je stigao kroz kvalifikacije, nanizao je nepoznatog Matwea Middelkoopa, a potom Stefana Koubeka (217.), Martina Fischera (219.), Igora Andrejeva (21.) i Ernesta Gulbisa (45.)!!! Niz vrijedan poštivanja. U trenucima dok Ančić i Gabašvili nisu dovršili meč, Dodig je izabrao.

- Radije bih igrao protiv Ančića, taj meč bi mi jako puno značio u karijeri – rekao je.
