Površnom poznavatelju teniskih prilika plasman Poljakinje Magde Linette u polufinale Australian Opena bit će tek crtica na kladionici ili rezultat na nekom sportskom portalu.

No, za ljubitelje "bijelog sporta" u Hrvatskoj, posebno u Splitu, vijest je to koja ih ispunjava ponosom. Ova simpatična 30-godišnja Poljakinja je eliminirala Čehinju Karolinu Pliškovu (WTA-31.) sa 6:3, 7:5, dok je Arina Sabaljenka pobijedila hrvatsku tenisačicu Donnu Vekić sa 6:3, 6:2. Nepostavljena Poljakinja stigla je tako  svog prvog Grand Slam polufinala, pobijedivši bivšu prvu tenisačicu svijeta Pliškovu za jedan sat i 27 minuta igre.

Za mjesto u finalu Linette i Sabaljenka igrat će međusobno, a brojni će Splićani navijati baš za Poljakinju. Linette je, naime, brojne treninge odradila baš u gradu pod Marjanom trenirajući s našim trenerima. Na Instagramu je otkrila da joj nedostaju splitski zalasci sunca, ručak na otvorenom dok puše jugo...

- Drago mi je da smo ovo vidjeli prije nego je to itko drugi vidio u njoj - odmah nam je kazao Izo Žunić, čovjek koji ju je trenirao od 2013. do 2020. godine.

- Bio sam joj i trener i voditelj projekta. Matko Jelčić je kondicijski trener koji je još uvijek s njom. Došao je u naš tim 2014. i jedan je od najzaslužnijih za ovo što se njoj sada događa - kazao nam je Žunić.

Sretni Matko odmah nam se odazvao.

- S Magdom radim već osam godina. Čak sedam smo putovali u "punom radnom vremenu", a sada radimo ciljane blokove, tjedne - kazao nam je Matko.

Sada nije s njom u Australiji.

- Trenutno su s njom teniski trener Mark Gellard i fizio, jer uvijek gledamo što joj je najpotrebnije u određenim momentima.

Koliko je bila s vama u Splitu?

- U Splitu je provodila dosta vremena jer je radila tenis i kondiciju. Provodila bi u Splitu dva - tri  mjeseca godišnje. Jako voli Split, sluša hrvatsku glazbu, od Olivera do Daleke Obale, voli našu hranu, otoke i laganini lifestyle. Toliko joj se svidjelo da je naučila hrvatski u rekordnom roku.

Kako si ti ušao u "projekt Magda"?

- Ja sam iz Splita, tu sam završio Kineziološki fakultet, usmjerenje kondicijska priprema sportaša. Nakon fakulteta zajedno s kolegom sam pokrenuo  mali fitness centar u kojemu smo radili s različitim sportašima. Nakon dvije godine sam upoznao trenera Izu Žunića te smo zajedno ušli u projekt s Magdom. Trening baza, osim Splita, nam je bila Kina gdje smo bili dio Star River teniske akademije. U istom vremenu sam surađivao i s kineskim igračima i s njihovim nacionalnim timom sam otišao u Rio de Janeiro na Olimpijske igre. Trenutno sam baziran u Splitu gdje s kolegama Marinom Bradarićem te Izom Žunićem radim na novim projektima.

Rezultate ovaj tim očito ima, vjerujemo da će ih biti još. Split je uvijek bio plodno tlo za vrhunske tenisače, evo, kako domaće, tako i strane. Ali nije to slučajno, nije zemlja "plodna" sama od sebe, ključni su ljudi.

No, za ljubitelje "bijelog sporta" u Hrvatskoj, posebno u Splitu, vijest je to koja ih ispunjava ponosom. Ova simpatična 30-godišnja Poljakinja je eliminirala Čehinju Karolinu Pliškovu (WTA-31.) sa 6:3, 7:5, dok je Arina Sabaljenka pobijedila hrvatsku tenisačicu Donnu Vekić sa 6:3, 6:2. Nepostavljena Poljakinja stigla je tako  svog prvog Grand Slam polufinala, pobijedivši bivšu prvu tenisačicu svijeta Pliškovu za jedan sat i 27 minuta igre.

Za mjesto u finalu Linette i Sabaljenka igrat će međusobno, a brojni će Splićani navijati baš za Poljakinju. Linette je, naime, brojne treninge odradila baš u gradu pod Marjanom trenirajući s našim trenerima. Na Instagramu je otkrila da joj nedostaju splitski zalasci sunca, ručak na otvorenom dok puše jugo...

- Drago mi je da smo ovo vidjeli prije nego je to itko drugi vidio u njoj - odmah nam je kazao Izo Žunić, čovjek koji ju je trenirao od 2013. do 2020. godine.

- Bio sam joj i trener i voditelj projekta. Matko Jelčić je kondicijski trener koji je još uvijek s njom. Došao je u naš tim 2014. i jedan je od najzaslužnijih za ovo što se njoj sada događa - kazao nam je Žunić.

Sretni Matko odmah nam se odazvao.

- S Magdom radim već osam godina. Čak sedam smo putovali u "punom radnom vremenu", a sada radimo ciljane blokove, tjedne - kazao nam je Matko.

Sada nije s njom u Australiji.

- Trenutno su s njom teniski trener Mark Gellard i fizio, jer uvijek gledamo što joj je najpotrebnije u određenim momentima.

Koliko je bila s vama u Splitu?

- U Splitu je provodila dosta vremena jer je radila tenis i kondiciju. Provodila bi u Splitu dva - tri  mjeseca godišnje. Jako voli Split, sluša hrvatsku glazbu, od Olivera do Daleke Obale, voli našu hranu, otoke i laganini lifestyle. Toliko joj se svidjelo da je naučila hrvatski u rekordnom roku.

Kako si ti ušao u "projekt Magda"?

- Ja sam iz Splita, tu sam završio Kineziološki fakultet, usmjerenje kondicijska priprema sportaša. Nakon fakulteta zajedno s kolegom sam pokrenuo  mali fitness centar u kojemu smo radili s različitim sportašima. Nakon dvije godine sam upoznao trenera Izu Žunića te smo zajedno ušli u projekt s Magdom. Trening baza, osim Splita, nam je bila Kina gdje smo bili dio Star River teniske akademije. U istom vremenu sam surađivao i s kineskim igračima i s njihovim nacionalnim timom sam otišao u Rio de Janeiro na Olimpijske igre. Trenutno sam baziran u Splitu gdje s kolegama Marinom Bradarićem te Izom Žunićem radim na novim projektima.

Rezultate ovaj tim očito ima, vjerujemo da će ih biti još. Split je uvijek bio plodno tlo za vrhunske tenisače, evo, kako domaće, tako i strane. Ali nije to slučajno, nije zemlja "plodna" sama od sebe, ključni su ljudi.
