Prvi grand slam turnir sezone Australian Open se priključio Wimbledonu u uvođenju tiebreaka u zadnjem setu od iduće godine, izjavio je direktor turnira Craig Tiley.

Prema novim pravilima koja će se početi provoditi na početku iduće godine na turniru koji se održava od 14. do 27. siječnja mečevi koji završe rezultatom 6-6 u zadnjem setu idu u tiebreak i pobjednik je onaj igrač koji stigne do 10 poena i razlike od dva poena.

Wimbledon je u listopadu objavio da će sljedeće godine svi mečevi na terenima All England Lawn Tennis Cluba ići u tiebreak ako rezultat bude 12-12 u zadnjem setu.

Ovakva odluka je posljedica ovogodišnjeg polufinala kojeg su Amerikanac John Isner i Južnoafrikanac Kevin Anderson pretvorili u maraton u zadnjem setu kojeg je na kraju dobio južnoafrički tenisač sa 26-24 nakon gotovo tri sata.

Osim toga, ova odluka Australian Opena znači da svaki od četiri grand slam turnira ima drugačiji način odlučivanja zadnjeg seta.

Na US Openu igrači igraju tradicionalni tiebreak u zadnjem setu i pobjednik je onaj igrač koji prvi osvoji sedam poena i ima prednost od dva poena. Na Roland Garrosu nema tiebreaka u finalnom setu i mečevi se igraju dok igrač ne ostvari prednost od dva poena u zadnjem setu.

Prvi grand slam turnir sezone Australian Open se priključio Wimbledonu u uvođenju tiebreaka u zadnjem setu od iduće godine, izjavio je direktor turnira Craig Tiley.

Prema novim pravilima koja će se početi provoditi na početku iduće godine na turniru koji se održava od 14. do 27. siječnja mečevi koji završe rezultatom 6-6 u zadnjem setu idu u tiebreak i pobjednik je onaj igrač koji stigne do 10 poena i razlike od dva poena.

Wimbledon je u listopadu objavio da će sljedeće godine svi mečevi na terenima All England Lawn Tennis Cluba ići u tiebreak ako rezultat bude 12-12 u zadnjem setu.

Ovakva odluka je posljedica ovogodišnjeg polufinala kojeg su Amerikanac John Isner i Južnoafrikanac Kevin Anderson pretvorili u maraton u zadnjem setu kojeg je na kraju dobio južnoafrički tenisač sa 26-24 nakon gotovo tri sata.

Osim toga, ova odluka Australian Opena znači da svaki od četiri grand slam turnira ima drugačiji način odlučivanja zadnjeg seta.

Na US Openu igrači igraju tradicionalni tiebreak u zadnjem setu i pobjednik je onaj igrač koji prvi osvoji sedam poena i ima prednost od dva poena. Na Roland Garrosu nema tiebreaka u finalnom setu i mečevi se igraju dok igrač ne ostvari prednost od dva poena u zadnjem setu.
