Druga tenisačica svijeta Rumunjka Simona Halep zbog straha od koronavirusa odustala je od nastupa na US Openu koji bi se trebao održati od 31. kolovoza do 13. rujna u New Yorku.

"Nakon što sam odmjerila sve uključene čimbenike i uz iznimne okolnosti u kojima živimo, odlučila sam da neću putovati u New York kako bi nastupila na US Openu", napisao je Halep na Twitteru.

"Uvijek sam govorila da mi je najvažnije zdravlje i zbog toga ostajem i treniram u Europi. Znam da su USTA i WTA neumorno radili na organizaciji turnira i želim svima uspješan turnir," dodala je bivša najbolja tenisačica svijeta.

Halep je tijekom karijere osvojila dva Grand Slama - Roland Garros (2018) i Wimbledon (2019), a njezin najveći uspjeh na US Openu je polufinale iz 2015.

Rumunjka je šesta tenisačica iz TOP 10 koja je otkazala nastup na US Openu nakon Ashleigh Barty (N.1), Eline Svitoline (N.5), Biance Andreescu (N.6) ), Kiki Bertens (N.7) i Belinde Benčić (N.8).

Druga tenisačica svijeta Rumunjka Simona Halep zbog straha od koronavirusa odustala je od nastupa na US Openu koji bi se trebao održati od 31. kolovoza do 13. rujna u New Yorku.

"Nakon što sam odmjerila sve uključene čimbenike i uz iznimne okolnosti u kojima živimo, odlučila sam da neću putovati u New York kako bi nastupila na US Openu", napisao je Halep na Twitteru.

"Uvijek sam govorila da mi je najvažnije zdravlje i zbog toga ostajem i treniram u Europi. Znam da su USTA i WTA neumorno radili na organizaciji turnira i želim svima uspješan turnir," dodala je bivša najbolja tenisačica svijeta.

Halep je tijekom karijere osvojila dva Grand Slama - Roland Garros (2018) i Wimbledon (2019), a njezin najveći uspjeh na US Openu je polufinale iz 2015.

Rumunjka je šesta tenisačica iz TOP 10 koja je otkazala nastup na US Openu nakon Ashleigh Barty (N.1), Eline Svitoline (N.5), Biance Andreescu (N.6) ), Kiki Bertens (N.7) i Belinde Benčić (N.8).

Druga tenisačica svijeta Rumunjka Simona Halep zbog straha od koronavirusa odustala je od nastupa na US Openu koji bi se trebao održati od 31. kolovoza do 13. rujna u New Yorku.

"Nakon što sam odmjerila sve uključene čimbenike i uz iznimne okolnosti u kojima živimo, odlučila sam da neću putovati u New York kako bi nastupila na US Openu", napisao je Halep na Twitteru.
