U Kući slave splitskog sporta održana je promocija monografije Plivačkog omladinskog športskog kluba - POŠK autora Tomislava Gabelića i Ivana Gabrila. Iako je monografija “Dica Zente” u prvom redu posvećena Vaterpolo klubu POŠK, a “malo i plivačkom dijelu kluba” kako su to autori naveli, ona je i pouzdani svjedok vremena i prostora, dakle istočnog dijela grada Splita u vremenu od kraja 19. do početka 21. stoljeća.
Centar priče je naravno klub koji je postigao sjajne uspjehe i iznjedrio brojna velika imena. POŠK je osnovan 1937. godine i u bogatoj povijesti osvojio je Kup prvaka 1999., dva puta Kup Kupova 1981. i 1983., Superkup 1983. Kup Mediterana 1985.1986. i 1987., Prvenstvo Hrvatske 1998. Kup Hrvatske 1999. te dva puta Kup Jugoslavije 1980. i 1982. godine.
Brojna velika imena izrasla su na bazenu u uvali Zenta, od Damira Polića, Milivoja Bebića, Denija Lušića, Željka Kaurlota, Roberta Andrijića, Dragana Rebića do Višeslava Sarića, Marija Oreba, Aljoše Kunca, Petra Muslima... Ono što je uz povijesti davalo posebnu vrijednost POŠK-u su domaći igrači, tako je primjerice zlatna generacija koju je odgojio i vodio Vlaho Mišo Asić bila jedinstvena po tome što su osvojili brojne trofeje isključivo s domaćim igračima, koji su odrasli u krugu od 500 metara od bazena na Zenti.
Kruna uspjeha ipak je naslov najbolje momčadi Europe 1999. godine koju su vaterpolisti osvojili pod trenerom Draganom Matutinovićem i momčadi u kojoj su igrali Dragan Rebić, Teo Đogaš, Petar Trumbić, Nikša Jaić, David Burburan, Roman Polačik, Višeslav Sarić, Aleksandar Nagy, Samir Barać, Aljoša Kunac, Alen Bošković, Mario Oreb i Ivan Katura. A i plivački dio kluba iznjedrio je brojne trofejne plivačice i plivače, počevši od legendarne Đurđice Bjedov i Duje Draganje, preko Hrvoja Barića, Anamarije Petričević, Smiljane Marinović...
Osim po sportskim uspjesima Zenta je bila poznata i kao mjesto okupljanja, druženja, ljubavi... mjesto na koje je redovito, pogotovo ljeti, dolazila mladost iz istočnih splitskih kvartova. Danju na kupanje, a navečer u poznate disco klubove “Bady” i “Shakespeare”. Malo je poznato da je prva vaterpolo utakmica odigrana u Splitu davne 1908. godine i to nogometnom loptom koja je donesena iz Praga, da su osnivači vaterpolo klubova bili Lucijan Stella, Vjekoslav Ivanišević, Ivo Šakić, Jure Gasparini, Koto Kraljević, braća Fabjan i Luka Kaliterna, Šime Raunig i drugi idejni začetnici i pokretači praktično cjelokupnog splitskog sporta, pa tako i vaterpola.
Zimi su studirali u Pragu i ostalim većim centrima tadašnje Austro Ugarske monarhije, a po povratku na ljetne ferije u Splitu su planirali osnivanje i legalizaciju sportskih klubova, organizirali utakmice, i tako radili na razvoju i promociji splitskog sporta. Malo je poznato da se na bazenu na Zenti održala i prva modna revija koja je kasnije prerasla u Splitski festival.
Na žalost, POŠK je jedinstven i po jednom neslavnom detalju, po tome što je ostvario svoj najveći uspjeh, a onda, svega par godina nakon toga, nestao sa scene kao da ga nikad nije ni bilo. Na krov Europe popeli su se u talijanskom Napulju, u gradu podno Vezuva, a nakon silne erupcije emocija, radosti i sreće koja je uslijedila, nestali su u pepelu, baš poput drugog simbola Napulja - Pompeja. Sada ga skupina entuzijasta ponovno pokušava podići iz pepela...

U Kući slave splitskog sporta održana je promocija monografije Plivačkog omladinskog športskog kluba - POŠK autora Tomislava Gabelića i Ivana Gabrila. Iako je monografija “Dica Zente” u prvom redu posvećena Vaterpolo klubu POŠK, a “malo i plivačkom dijelu kluba” kako su to autori naveli, ona je i pouzdani svjedok vremena i prostora, dakle istočnog dijela grada Splita u vremenu od kraja 19. do početka 21. stoljeća.
Centar priče je naravno klub koji je postigao sjajne uspjehe i iznjedrio brojna velika imena. POŠK je osnovan 1937. godine i u bogatoj povijesti osvojio je Kup prvaka 1999., dva puta Kup Kupova 1981. i 1983., Superkup 1983. Kup Mediterana 1985.1986. i 1987., Prvenstvo Hrvatske 1998. Kup Hrvatske 1999. te dva puta Kup Jugoslavije 1980. i 1982. godine.
Brojna velika imena izrasla su na bazenu u uvali Zenta, od Damira Polića, Milivoja Bebića, Denija Lušića, Željka Kaurlota, Roberta Andrijića, Dragana Rebića do Višeslava Sarića, Marija Oreba, Aljoše Kunca, Petra Muslima... Ono što je uz povijesti davalo posebnu vrijednost POŠK-u su domaći igrači, tako je primjerice zlatna generacija koju je odgojio i vodio Vlaho Mišo Asić bila jedinstvena po tome što su osvojili brojne trofeje isključivo s domaćim igračima, koji su odrasli u krugu od 500 metara od bazena na Zenti.
Kruna uspjeha ipak je naslov najbolje momčadi Europe 1999. godine koju su vaterpolisti osvojili pod trenerom Draganom Matutinovićem i momčadi u kojoj su igrali Dragan Rebić, Teo Đogaš, Petar Trumbić, Nikša Jaić, David Burburan, Roman Polačik, Višeslav Sarić, Aleksandar Nagy, Samir Barać, Aljoša Kunac, Alen Bošković, Mario Oreb i Ivan Katura. A i plivački dio kluba iznjedrio je brojne trofejne plivačice i plivače, počevši od legendarne Đurđice Bjedov i Duje Draganje, preko Hrvoja Barića, Anamarije Petričević, Smiljane Marinović...
Osim po sportskim uspjesima Zenta je bila poznata i kao mjesto okupljanja, druženja, ljubavi... mjesto na koje je redovito, pogotovo ljeti, dolazila mladost iz istočnih splitskih kvartova. Danju na kupanje, a navečer u poznate disco klubove “Bady” i “Shakespeare”. Malo je poznato da je prva vaterpolo utakmica odigrana u Splitu davne 1908. godine i to nogometnom loptom koja je donesena iz Praga, da su osnivači vaterpolo klubova bili Lucijan Stella, Vjekoslav Ivanišević, Ivo Šakić, Jure Gasparini, Koto Kraljević, braća Fabjan i Luka Kaliterna, Šime Raunig i drugi idejni začetnici i pokretači praktično cjelokupnog splitskog sporta, pa tako i vaterpola.
Zimi su studirali u Pragu i ostalim većim centrima tadašnje Austro Ugarske monarhije, a po povratku na ljetne ferije u Splitu su planirali osnivanje i legalizaciju sportskih klubova, organizirali utakmice, i tako radili na razvoju i promociji splitskog sporta. Malo je poznato da se na bazenu na Zenti održala i prva modna revija koja je kasnije prerasla u Splitski festival.
Na žalost, POŠK je jedinstven i po jednom neslavnom detalju, po tome što je ostvario svoj najveći uspjeh, a onda, svega par godina nakon toga, nestao sa scene kao da ga nikad nije ni bilo. Na krov Europe popeli su se u talijanskom Napulju, u gradu podno Vezuva, a nakon silne erupcije emocija, radosti i sreće koja je uslijedila, nestali su u pepelu, baš poput drugog simbola Napulja - Pompeja. Sada ga skupina entuzijasta ponovno pokušava podići iz pepela...
