Herojska priča dugo je bila zatajena. Njezini akteri i najbližima su se skanjivali otkriti kakvoj su se smrtonosnoj opasnosti izložili, sve dok nakon cijele godine jedan nije priznao na društvenoj mreži. Kratko zatim to je došlo u medije, prvo na Katolički radio, a onda i na portale. Svi su sa zahvalnošću i divljenjem opisali smrtonosni podvig, donoseći napokon zasluženu slavu hrvatskim inženjerima. Premda je bilo nešto i nesmotrenosti jer nije to bilo za osjetljive. Mlađe od osamnaest, trudnice i srčane bolesnike trebalo je upozoriti da ne čitaju taj luđački triler da su njih dvojica početkom prošle godine kriomice ugradili krunicu u jedan betonski stup Pelješkog mosta.

Znajući kako se to nemilosrdno kažnjava, mnogi su posumnjali u istinitost priče. Znajući kako se vjernike u Hrvatskoj progoni skoro kao komuniste u Sjevernoj Koreji, kako je za priznanje da si katolik ovdje potrebna hrabrost usporediva možda samo sa samoubilačkom smjelošću nekoga tko će u Afganistanu otvoreno kazati da je musliman, čitatelji jednostavno nisu vjerovali da se netko drznuo ubaciti krunicu u Pelješki most. Šta je sljedeće, rekli su, da neće možda staviti krunicu oko vrata? Ili je čak objesiti na retrovizor?!

Ah, kakvo neustrašivo svjedočanstvo vjere. Pogledajte, sav sam se naježio.

Zašto bi zaista kineske graditelje mosta smetalo da su dvojica naših blesana ubacili krunicu u jedan betonski stup? Šta oni misle, odakle su krunice koje hrvatske babe prebiru po prstima moleći ružarije. Pa sva je ta sakralna bižuterija došla iz Narodne Republike Kine. Devedeset devet od sto krunica koje se na Veliku Gospu nude na štandovima ispred crkava u Međugorju, Sinju, Mariji Bistrici i Aljmašu napravljene su u istoj tvornici u Šangaju?

Pomislio sam isprva kako je otamo i ona koja će vječno čuvati Pelješki most, ali ne, inženjeri su kupili jednu specijalnu, hrvatsku. Nisu žalili potrošiti na domaću rukotvorinu sa crvenim i bijelim zrnima, križem kneza Branimira i slikama Bogorodica iz naših marijanskih svetišta, premda su vjerojatno za jednaki novac mogli kupiti pune naćve masovno proizvedenih kineskih krunica.

Pa, dobro, složio sam se, to ima smisla. Da se u čudovišnoj masi prometnice koja se protegla preko zaljeva, između stotina i stotina milijuna tona kineskog čelika i betona, našlo i nešto nepatvoreno naše, made in Croatia. Tri ili četiri deka plastike poprskane blagoslovljenom vodom zapravo su sav hrvatski doprinos u ovome veličanstvenom graditeljskom postignuću.

Priča o dvojici katoličkih inženjera prije zapravo ispunjava tugom nego vjerskim zanosom. Potrese vas kad shvatite kako smo nekad, ne tako davno, prije samo petnaestak, dvadeset godina, imali građevinska poduzeća s hiljadama zaposlenih, imali smo znanja i snage napraviti što god smo zamislili, nije bilo ni tako duboke ni tako široke provalije da je naši ljudi nisu savladali, premostili je elegantnim lukom između dvije litice, a danas smo sasvim sporedna lica, epizodisti koji se hvale kako su u velikoj konspiraciji donijeli krunicu na gradilište.

Da se to može birati, ja bih radije da su nam inženjeri malo manje pobožni, a malo se više razumiju u građevinsku struku. Dobro, znam, ima ih mnogo da su i pobožni i stručni, to se dvoje nužno se isključuje, ali općenito gledajući, gdje jača vjera u natprirodno, neizbježno slabi vjera u znanost i tehnologiju. Jesti pohanog oslića petkom i pjevati nedjeljom u crkvi dođe nekako važnije od poznavanja prirodnih zakona. Onaj koji je pročitao Evanđelje, jednu jedinu knjigu, drži se većim autoritetom od onoga koji je pročitao čitavu biblioteku znanstvenih naslova. Svećenici i vjeroučitelji u medicinskim se stvarima drže pozvanijima od liječnika.

Pogledajte samo ovaj primjer. Novak Đokovića izbačen je s Australian Opena jer se nije htio cijepiti protiv korone. Kad se vratio u Srbiju, drugo jutro se otišao pričestiti u hram svetog Save. Zamišljajući ga kako staje pred bradatog pravoslavnog čarobnjaka i smjerno otvara usta da uzme blagoslovljenog vina iz kućarina koji je prethodno sto pedeset drugih polizalo, rastužio sam se upravo kao i kad sam čitao o hrvatskim inženjerima i krunici u kineskom mostu. Ovdje je također vjera u nekakav transcendentalni ćiribu ćiriba nadomjestila znanje i struku. I ne znam što mi je bilo gluplje, da Đoković misli kako cjepivo ne djeluje, ili da Đoković misli kako pričest djeluje.

Herojska priča dugo je bila zatajena. Njezini akteri i najbližima su se skanjivali otkriti kakvoj su se smrtonosnoj opasnosti izložili, sve dok nakon cijele godine jedan nije priznao na društvenoj mreži. Kratko zatim to je došlo u medije, prvo na Katolički radio, a onda i na portale. Svi su sa zahvalnošću i divljenjem opisali smrtonosni podvig, donoseći napokon zasluženu slavu hrvatskim inženjerima. Premda je bilo nešto i nesmotrenosti jer nije to bilo za osjetljive. Mlađe od osamnaest, trudnice i srčane bolesnike trebalo je upozoriti da ne čitaju taj luđački triler da su njih dvojica početkom prošle godine kriomice ugradili krunicu u jedan betonski stup Pelješkog mosta.

Znajući kako se to nemilosrdno kažnjava, mnogi su posumnjali u istinitost priče. Znajući kako se vjernike u Hrvatskoj progoni skoro kao komuniste u Sjevernoj Koreji, kako je za priznanje da si katolik ovdje potrebna hrabrost usporediva možda samo sa samoubilačkom smjelošću nekoga tko će u Afganistanu otvoreno kazati da je musliman, čitatelji jednostavno nisu vjerovali da se netko drznuo ubaciti krunicu u Pelješki most. Šta je sljedeće, rekli su, da neće možda staviti krunicu oko vrata? Ili je čak objesiti na retrovizor?!

Ah, kakvo neustrašivo svjedočanstvo vjere. Pogledajte, sav sam se naježio.

Zašto bi zaista kineske graditelje mosta smetalo da su dvojica naših blesana ubacili krunicu u jedan betonski stup? Šta oni misle, odakle su krunice koje hrvatske babe prebiru po prstima moleći ružarije. Pa sva je ta sakralna bižuterija došla iz Narodne Republike Kine. Devedeset devet od sto krunica koje se na Veliku Gospu nude na štandovima ispred crkava u Međugorju, Sinju, Mariji Bistrici i Aljmašu napravljene su u istoj tvornici u Šangaju?

Pomislio sam isprva kako je otamo i ona koja će vječno čuvati Pelješki most, ali ne, inženjeri su kupili jednu specijalnu, hrvatsku. Nisu žalili potrošiti na domaću rukotvorinu sa crvenim i bijelim zrnima, križem kneza Branimira i slikama Bogorodica iz naših marijanskih svetišta, premda su vjerojatno za jednaki novac mogli kupiti pune naćve masovno proizvedenih kineskih krunica.

Pa, dobro, složio sam se, to ima smisla. Da se u čudovišnoj masi prometnice koja se protegla preko zaljeva, između stotina i stotina milijuna tona kineskog čelika i betona, našlo i nešto nepatvoreno naše, made in Croatia. Tri ili četiri deka plastike poprskane blagoslovljenom vodom zapravo su sav hrvatski doprinos u ovome veličanstvenom graditeljskom postignuću.

Priča o dvojici katoličkih inženjera prije zapravo ispunjava tugom nego vjerskim zanosom. Potrese vas kad shvatite kako smo nekad, ne tako davno, prije samo petnaestak, dvadeset godina, imali građevinska poduzeća s hiljadama zaposlenih, imali smo znanja i snage napraviti što god smo zamislili, nije bilo ni tako duboke ni tako široke provalije da je naši ljudi nisu savladali, premostili je elegantnim lukom između dvije litice, a danas smo sasvim sporedna lica, epizodisti koji se hvale kako su u velikoj konspiraciji donijeli krunicu na gradilište.

Da se to može birati, ja bih radije da su nam inženjeri malo manje pobožni, a malo se više razumiju u građevinsku struku. Dobro, znam, ima ih mnogo da su i pobožni i stručni, to se dvoje nužno se isključuje, ali općenito gledajući, gdje jača vjera u natprirodno, neizbježno slabi vjera u znanost i tehnologiju. Jesti pohanog oslića petkom i pjevati nedjeljom u crkvi dođe nekako važnije od poznavanja prirodnih zakona. Onaj koji je pročitao Evanđelje, jednu jedinu knjigu, drži se većim autoritetom od onoga koji je pročitao čitavu biblioteku znanstvenih naslova. Svećenici i vjeroučitelji u medicinskim se stvarima drže pozvanijima od liječnika.

Pogledajte samo ovaj primjer. Novak Đokovića izbačen je s Australian Opena jer se nije htio cijepiti protiv korone. Kad se vratio u Srbiju, drugo jutro se otišao pričestiti u hram svetog Save. Zamišljajući ga kako staje pred bradatog pravoslavnog čarobnjaka i smjerno otvara usta da uzme blagoslovljenog vina iz kućarina koji je prethodno sto pedeset drugih polizalo, rastužio sam se upravo kao i kad sam čitao o hrvatskim inženjerima i krunici u kineskom mostu. Ovdje je također vjera u nekakav transcendentalni ćiribu ćiriba nadomjestila znanje i struku. I ne znam što mi je bilo gluplje, da Đoković misli kako cjepivo ne djeluje, ili da Đoković misli kako pričest djeluje.
