Hrvatski klimatolog Krešo Pandžić, pročelnik Sekcije za klimu HAZU-a, još je prije nekoliko mjeseci za Slobodnu Dalmaciju najavio kako, u skladu sa scenarijima globalnog zatopljenja, na području Hrvatske možemo očekivati učestalost pojačanih neuobičajenih vremenskih pojava.

Riječ je o ekstremima tipa grmljavinskih oluja, često praćenih jakim vjetrom i oborinama, katkad tučom, te električnim pražnjenjima uz sijevanje i grmljavinu. Bio je u pravu, sumnje koje je tada naveo svoj su realni oblik dobile prošlog tjedna. Što se to zapravo dogodilo na području Zagreba, Slavonije, protegnulo preko Italije do Srbije, protutnjalo u dugoj liniji donijevši štete na brojnim razinama? Hoće li se ponavljati? Objasnio nam je kako je ovo ekstremno nevrijeme, nešto što se događa možda jednom u sto godina, bilo vjerojatni miks nekoliko različitih pojava.

Ekstremne temperature

– Teško je u stopostotnoj točnosti nazvati proces koji se odigrao na našem tlu. Najpribližnije bi bilo reći da je regiju zahvatio niz grmljavinskih oluja koje su stvorile rijetku pojavu superćelije. Gledano u omjeru na neke druge prirodne ekstreme, ravna je iznimno jakom potresu, nalik na petrinjski. Pojava je to koja se događa jednom u sto ili više godina. Hoće li se opet dogoditi, kada, u kakvom opsegu? Ne možemo to predvidjeti. Ni kada će se dogoditi, ni u kakvoj snazi – kaže.

Ipak, vrlo je vjerojatno da bi s daljnjim klimatskim zatopljenjem od 1,5 stupnjeva učestalost ovakvih situacija postala veća. Nažalost, i povećanog intenziteta. Klimatske promjene uzimaju svoj danak. Znanost je već upoznata s uzročno-posljedičnom vezom koja je dovela do pojave jakih suša, ekstremno visokih temperatura, naglih oborina na nekom lokaliziranom području, bujičnih poplava, šumskih požara...

– Događanja kojima smo svjedočili na kontinentu proteklog tjedna, gledano za struku, vrlo su zanimljiv proces. Iznenadilo me je nešto što nisam do sada uočio u cijelom svojem profesionalnom radu, a to je bila ta duga, snažna fronta koja se protegnula preko nekoliko zemalja. U pozadini cijele priče stoji dipol prostranog polja visokog tlaka zraka sa središtem iznad Azora i prostranog polja niskog tlaka zraka s centrom na području Islanda. Razlika tlaka zraka između ta dva centra definira indeks makrostrujanja na području Europe, nazvanog sjevernoatlantska oscilacija. Ona utječe na vrijeme u Europi u razdoblju tjedan do dva, ili dulje – veli.

Ono što je ljudima utjeralo strah u kosti bili su poprilično prijeteći oblaci, koji su već na prvi pogled asocirali na dolazak nevolje. Na satelitskoj snimci oblaka, veli uvaženi klimatolog, proteklih tjedana mogao se zamijetiti učestali prolazak ciklonalnih vrtloga. Riječ je o takozvanim familijama ciklona s atmosferskim frontama, koje su sa sjevera povremeno dosezale Alpe, graničnik južnih toplijih i vlažnijih zračnih masa, te hladnijih sa sjevera.

Superćelija

– Vjerojatno je to sve zajedno proizvelo tako jaku grmljavinsku oluju uz obilje vlage i toplinske energije – veli dr. Pandžić.

Klima se mijenja, neumitno dolazimo do tog zaključka. Svjedočimo pojavama kakve do sada nisu zabilježene na ovim područjima. Tornado na jugu Češke nitko nije očekivao. Paralelno s njim dogodilo se i veliko nevrijeme u Njemačkoj praćeno ogromnim poplavama. Mediji su podosta pisali i o još jednom snažnom nevremenu u Njemačkoj praćenom vjetrom koji je obarao stabla, čupao ih iz tla. Istu smo situaciju imali i u nedavnoj nam hrvatskoj superćeliji, koja je tijekom snažnih naleta vjetra također rušila vegetaciju.

Jesmo li spremni za takve uvjete, može li naša infrastruktura podnijeti sve češće ekstreme?

– Sve ovo navodi na plansko promišljanje o vrsti drveća koja bi se trebala saditi u naseljenim sredinama. Građevinski sektor na području kontinenta očito će dugoročno morati početi voditi računa o drugačijem tipu krovova, otpornijima na vremenske nepogode koje dolaze s globalnim promjenama. Tako je i s biljkama. Mislim da bi u planskoj sadnji trebalo tražiti one koje će dubljim korijenjem lakše prkositi snazi vjetra i nepogodama s kojima se kontinent sve češće susreće – veli.

Priroda se uvijek pobrine za vegetaciju. Imamo primjer loze i maslina, koje se svojim dubokim jakim korijenjem opiru snažnim udarima bure na dalmatinskom području, ali i dolaze do vodnih zaliha skrivenih duboko u tlu. Mnoga stabla na sjeveru Hrvatske nisu izdržala snažne udare, vjetar ih je doslovce bacao kao šibice.

– Postoje i najave da će se na području poljoprivrede i šumarstva trebati pokrenuti zahvati kako bi se zaštitila proizvodnja hrane. Jednostavno se trebamo početi što brže prilagođavati novim uvjetima – veli dr. Pandžić. •

Hrvatski klimatolog Krešo Pandžić, pročelnik Sekcije za klimu HAZU-a, još je prije nekoliko mjeseci za Slobodnu Dalmaciju najavio kako, u skladu sa scenarijima globalnog zatopljenja, na području Hrvatske možemo očekivati učestalost pojačanih neuobičajenih vremenskih pojava.

Riječ je o ekstremima tipa grmljavinskih oluja, često praćenih jakim vjetrom i oborinama, katkad tučom, te električnim pražnjenjima uz sijevanje i grmljavinu. Bio je u pravu, sumnje koje je tada naveo svoj su realni oblik dobile prošlog tjedna. Što se to zapravo dogodilo na području Zagreba, Slavonije, protegnulo preko Italije do Srbije, protutnjalo u dugoj liniji donijevši štete na brojnim razinama? Hoće li se ponavljati? Objasnio nam je kako je ovo ekstremno nevrijeme, nešto što se događa možda jednom u sto godina, bilo vjerojatni miks nekoliko različitih pojava.

Ekstremne temperature

– Teško je u stopostotnoj točnosti nazvati proces koji se odigrao na našem tlu. Najpribližnije bi bilo reći da je regiju zahvatio niz grmljavinskih oluja koje su stvorile rijetku pojavu superćelije. Gledano u omjeru na neke druge prirodne ekstreme, ravna je iznimno jakom potresu, nalik na petrinjski. Pojava je to koja se događa jednom u sto ili više godina. Hoće li se opet dogoditi, kada, u kakvom opsegu? Ne možemo to predvidjeti. Ni kada će se dogoditi, ni u kakvoj snazi – kaže.

Ipak, vrlo je vjerojatno da bi s daljnjim klimatskim zatopljenjem od 1,5 stupnjeva učestalost ovakvih situacija postala veća. Nažalost, i povećanog intenziteta. Klimatske promjene uzimaju svoj danak. Znanost je već upoznata s uzročno-posljedičnom vezom koja je dovela do pojave jakih suša, ekstremno visokih temperatura, naglih oborina na nekom lokaliziranom području, bujičnih poplava, šumskih požara...

– Događanja kojima smo svjedočili na kontinentu proteklog tjedna, gledano za struku, vrlo su zanimljiv proces. Iznenadilo me je nešto što nisam do sada uočio u cijelom svojem profesionalnom radu, a to je bila ta duga, snažna fronta koja se protegnula preko nekoliko zemalja. U pozadini cijele priče stoji dipol prostranog polja visokog tlaka zraka sa središtem iznad Azora i prostranog polja niskog tlaka zraka s centrom na području Islanda. Razlika tlaka zraka između ta dva centra definira indeks makrostrujanja na području Europe, nazvanog sjevernoatlantska oscilacija. Ona utječe na vrijeme u Europi u razdoblju tjedan do dva, ili dulje – veli.

Ono što je ljudima utjeralo strah u kosti bili su poprilično prijeteći oblaci, koji su već na prvi pogled asocirali na dolazak nevolje. Na satelitskoj snimci oblaka, veli uvaženi klimatolog, proteklih tjedana mogao se zamijetiti učestali prolazak ciklonalnih vrtloga. Riječ je o takozvanim familijama ciklona s atmosferskim frontama, koje su sa sjevera povremeno dosezale Alpe, graničnik južnih toplijih i vlažnijih zračnih masa, te hladnijih sa sjevera.

Superćelija

– Vjerojatno je to sve zajedno proizvelo tako jaku grmljavinsku oluju uz obilje vlage i toplinske energije – veli dr. Pandžić.

Klima se mijenja, neumitno dolazimo do tog zaključka. Svjedočimo pojavama kakve do sada nisu zabilježene na ovim područjima. Tornado na jugu Češke nitko nije očekivao. Paralelno s njim dogodilo se i veliko nevrijeme u Njemačkoj praćeno ogromnim poplavama. Mediji su podosta pisali i o još jednom snažnom nevremenu u Njemačkoj praćenom vjetrom koji je obarao stabla, čupao ih iz tla. Istu smo situaciju imali i u nedavnoj nam hrvatskoj superćeliji, koja je tijekom snažnih naleta vjetra također rušila vegetaciju.

Jesmo li spremni za takve uvjete, može li naša infrastruktura podnijeti sve češće ekstreme?

– Sve ovo navodi na plansko promišljanje o vrsti drveća koja bi se trebala saditi u naseljenim sredinama. Građevinski sektor na području kontinenta očito će dugoročno morati početi voditi računa o drugačijem tipu krovova, otpornijima na vremenske nepogode koje dolaze s globalnim promjenama. Tako je i s biljkama. Mislim da bi u planskoj sadnji trebalo tražiti one koje će dubljim korijenjem lakše prkositi snazi vjetra i nepogodama s kojima se kontinent sve češće susreće – veli.

Priroda se uvijek pobrine za vegetaciju. Imamo primjer loze i maslina, koje se svojim dubokim jakim korijenjem opiru snažnim udarima bure na dalmatinskom području, ali i dolaze do vodnih zaliha skrivenih duboko u tlu. Mnoga stabla na sjeveru Hrvatske nisu izdržala snažne udare, vjetar ih je doslovce bacao kao šibice.

– Postoje i najave da će se na području poljoprivrede i šumarstva trebati pokrenuti zahvati kako bi se zaštitila proizvodnja hrane. Jednostavno se trebamo početi što brže prilagođavati novim uvjetima – veli dr. Pandžić. •
