Hrvatska je mlada država, ali je još uvijek starija od World Wide Weba. Stvarali su je ljudi čiji su roditelji vjerovali kako ne valja puno čitati jer je to loše za oči. Danas svi, ali doslovce svi, bulje u malešne plosnate kutije koje svijetle.

Paradoksalno, danas se čita više nego ikada prije, čak se više i piše, samo što taj trend ima malo, ustvari nimalo, veze s knjigama. On svjedoči tek o snazi naše potrebe da uzajamno komuniciramo.

U zadnjih tridesetak godina svijet kakvoga smo poznavali iz temelja se promijenio. Logično i neizbježno, jer svaki tehnološki iskorak za sobom povlači i sve druge promjene: ekonomske, kulturne, društvene... A političke?

Nisam baš siguran, barem ako govorimo o našim, domaćim prilikama. Sve teme koje su bile na tapetu prije tridesetak godina, kod nas su još uvijek aktualne. Dapače, čini se da su u boljemu zdravlju i kondiciji nego ikada prije. Ljeto Gospodnje 2023. bliži se odjavnoj špici, sljedeća godina već se najavljuje kao "superizborna", a o čemu se kod nas debatira na javnoj sceni, oko čega se podiže najveća prašina, što nas tjera da se s pjenom oko usta kontreštajemo?

U suštini, sve se svodi na pitanje tko je veći patriot, tko je veliki, a tko mali Hrvat ili nešto još gore, naime, tko nije nikakav. Usta su nam puna ratnih zasluga i žrtve, kao da su topovske cijevi još vruće, kao da od zadnjeg ispaljenja projektila nije prošlo više od 28 godina.

Strah je i dalje konvertibilna valuta, njega se zdušno raspiruje da bi se mobiliziralo birače. U modi je, recimo, širiti paniku da će nam jezik otići dovraga ako ga zakonom ne zaštitimo. Ruku na srce, on nam doista i odlazi, ali ne do vraga, nego u Njemačku ili Irsku, gdje ima lijepe šanse nestati jer će već djeca prve generacije iseljenika, a kamoli tek njihovi unuci, vremenom izgubiti svoj kulturni i nacionalni identitet.

No taj problem ne može se riješiti kupusarom punom suvišnih članaka i stavaka, nego izborom vladajuće garniture koja neće biti kleptomanska i tjerati ljudi na iseljavanje zato što ovdje budućnost pripada samo konobarima i sobaricama. Još se i više raspiruje strah od invazivnih Drugih koji su tobožnja prijetnja nacionalnoj sigurnosti, i to tolika da bi na njih valjalo podignuti vojsku, iako je i slijepcu jasno da smo tome sirotome migrantskom svijetu samo neželjena stanica na dugome putu u neke druge zemlje.

Sva retorika koja odjekuje našim javnim prostorom je borbena i militaristička. Ako ne komemoriramo prošli rat, kao da zazivamo neki budući, simbolički ili stvarni, svejedno. Važno je tek da pristajemo na podjelu svijeta koja uvijek podrazumijeva Nas i Njih. A oni nam, naravno, na sve moguće i nemoguće načine rade o glavi.

Cijela jedna generacija formatirana je u duhu koji izvanredno odnosno ratno stanje prožeto napetošću i mržnjom doživljava kao normalno. Kako li će tek oni odgajati svoju djecu? Hoće li se usuditi reći im da čovjek ne može živjeti u (već dalekoj) prošlosti, jer to znači da ne živi vlastiti nego neki tuđi život? Hoće li pogledati kalendar i osvijestiti činjenicu da postoji i budućnost?

Hrvatska je mlada država, ali je još uvijek starija od World Wide Weba. Stvarali su je ljudi čiji su roditelji vjerovali kako ne valja puno čitati jer je to loše za oči. Danas svi, ali doslovce svi, bulje u malešne plosnate kutije koje svijetle.

Paradoksalno, danas se čita više nego ikada prije, čak se više i piše, samo što taj trend ima malo, ustvari nimalo, veze s knjigama. On svjedoči tek o snazi naše potrebe da uzajamno komuniciramo.

U zadnjih tridesetak godina svijet kakvoga smo poznavali iz temelja se promijenio. Logično i neizbježno, jer svaki tehnološki iskorak za sobom povlači i sve druge promjene: ekonomske, kulturne, društvene... A političke?

Nisam baš siguran, barem ako govorimo o našim, domaćim prilikama. Sve teme koje su bile na tapetu prije tridesetak godina, kod nas su još uvijek aktualne. Dapače, čini se da su u boljemu zdravlju i kondiciji nego ikada prije. Ljeto Gospodnje 2023. bliži se odjavnoj špici, sljedeća godina već se najavljuje kao "superizborna", a o čemu se kod nas debatira na javnoj sceni, oko čega se podiže najveća prašina, što nas tjera da se s pjenom oko usta kontreštajemo?

U suštini, sve se svodi na pitanje tko je veći patriot, tko je veliki, a tko mali Hrvat ili nešto još gore, naime, tko nije nikakav. Usta su nam puna ratnih zasluga i žrtve, kao da su topovske cijevi još vruće, kao da od zadnjeg ispaljenja projektila nije prošlo više od 28 godina.

Strah je i dalje konvertibilna valuta, njega se zdušno raspiruje da bi se mobiliziralo birače. U modi je, recimo, širiti paniku da će nam jezik otići dovraga ako ga zakonom ne zaštitimo. Ruku na srce, on nam doista i odlazi, ali ne do vraga, nego u Njemačku ili Irsku, gdje ima lijepe šanse nestati jer će već djeca prve generacije iseljenika, a kamoli tek njihovi unuci, vremenom izgubiti svoj kulturni i nacionalni identitet.

No taj problem ne može se riješiti kupusarom punom suvišnih članaka i stavaka, nego izborom vladajuće garniture koja neće biti kleptomanska i tjerati ljudi na iseljavanje zato što ovdje budućnost pripada samo konobarima i sobaricama. Još se i više raspiruje strah od invazivnih Drugih koji su tobožnja prijetnja nacionalnoj sigurnosti, i to tolika da bi na njih valjalo podignuti vojsku, iako je i slijepcu jasno da smo tome sirotome migrantskom svijetu samo neželjena stanica na dugome putu u neke druge zemlje.

Sva retorika koja odjekuje našim javnim prostorom je borbena i militaristička. Ako ne komemoriramo prošli rat, kao da zazivamo neki budući, simbolički ili stvarni, svejedno. Važno je tek da pristajemo na podjelu svijeta koja uvijek podrazumijeva Nas i Njih. A oni nam, naravno, na sve moguće i nemoguće načine rade o glavi.

Cijela jedna generacija formatirana je u duhu koji izvanredno odnosno ratno stanje prožeto napetošću i mržnjom doživljava kao normalno. Kako li će tek oni odgajati svoju djecu? Hoće li se usuditi reći im da čovjek ne može živjeti u (već dalekoj) prošlosti, jer to znači da ne živi vlastiti nego neki tuđi život? Hoće li pogledati kalendar i osvijestiti činjenicu da postoji i budućnost?
