Bivši gradonačelnik Varaždina Ivan Čehok dobio je „svoju“ skulpturu u gradskom parku Ivana Pavla II. Istina, ne pod svojim imenom i prezimenom, niti za svoje djelo, za kojim se još vuku repovi sudskih tužbi, nego kao jedan od redovnika u skulpturi „Varaždinski redovnici“, posvećenoj redovničkim zajednicama koje djeluju na području grada Varaždina.

Jedan od tri lika redovnika u dugačkim haljama i prekrivene glave, neodoljivo podsjeća na bivšeg gradonačelnika. Građani su sami uočili frapantnu sličnost i pobunili se na društvenim mrežama zbog pokušaja „podvale“ skulpture Ivana Čehoka među redovnike, koji su zbog nemjerljivog doprinosa Gradu, dobili svoj spomenik.

Spornu je skulpturu izradio akademski kipar Nikola Šanjek, koji živi i radi u Austriji. Skulptura prikazuje tri redovnika koji hodaju jedan iza drugoga, u različitim su veličinama. Prvi od njih, najveći i najuočljiviji s knjigom u ruci je redovnik koji neodoljivo sliči bivšem gradonačelniku. Park u kojemu su postavljane skulpture, preko puta je Varaždinskog groblja, zaštićenog spomenika kulture i službeno među tri najljepša groblja u Europi. Groblje je posjećena turistička destinacija, pa skulptura u ovom parku garantira međunarodnu viđenost.

Izrada i postavljanje skulpture dogovoreno je u vrijeme njegova mandata, pred lokalne izbore u svibnju, a u suradnji s predstavnicima vjerskih zajednica grada. Svi su se složili o velikom značaji redovnika i redovnica za Varaždin, koji su tu otvarali škole, bolnice i ljekarne.

„Želja nam je bila da odamo počast tradiciji i značaju redovništva za Varaždin i u Varaždinu“, istaknuo je gradonačelnik tada za medije.

Lokaciju za skulpturu biralo je desetak vrhunskih stručnjaka s područja kulture, arhitekture i urbanizma. Iako je skulptura, u smanjenom obliku, stajala na stolu u Gradskoj vijećnici, za vrijeme sastanka, nitko nije uočio da je prvi redovnik likom Ivan Čehok.

Građani i lokalni mediji kažu da je „sličnost prevelika da bi se dogodila slučajno“. Lokalni mediji o gradonačelniku i skulpturi pišu pod nadnaslovom „Vjerovali ili ne“. O skulpturi „redovnika Čehoka“ danas su u Gradskoj vijećnici Varaždina gradonačelnik Bosilj i zamjenik Marković razgovarali s predstavnicima Varaždinske biskupije. Crkvenjaci su jasno izrazili nezadovoljstvo načinom prikaza crkvenih redova. Zaključak je da će se „nedostaci nastojati ukloniti“.

Ivan Čehok za Jutarnji demantira bilo kakvu vezu s izgledom redovnika.

- Povijest je puna skulptura sa sličnim, židovsko grčkim profilom. Da je redovnik lika Josipa Broza Tita, gradonačelnik Bosilj ne bi se bunio – rekao je bivši gradonačelnik Varaždina. Na društvenim mrežama je još dodao da ga je "i vlastita mama prepoznala u skulpturi".

Konačno, javio nam se i sam kipar Nikola Šanjek koji je na prozivke odgovorio - fotografijom.

Istina, ne pod svojim imenom i prezimenom, niti za svoje djelo, za kojim se još vuku repovi sudskih tužbi, nego kao jedan od redovnika u skulpturi „Varaždinski redovnici“, posvećenoj redovničkim zajednicama koje djeluju na području grada Varaždina.

Jedan od tri lika redovnika u dugačkim haljama i prekrivene glave, neodoljivo podsjeća na bivšeg gradonačelnika. Građani su sami uočili frapantnu sličnost i pobunili se na društvenim mrežama zbog pokušaja „podvale“ skulpture Ivana Čehoka među redovnike, koji su zbog nemjerljivog doprinosa Gradu, dobili svoj spomenik.

Spornu je skulpturu izradio akademski kipar Nikola Šanjek, koji živi i radi u Austriji. Skulptura prikazuje tri redovnika koji hodaju jedan iza drugoga, u različitim su veličinama. Prvi od njih, najveći i najuočljiviji s knjigom u ruci je redovnik koji neodoljivo sliči bivšem gradonačelniku. Park u kojemu su postavljane skulpture, preko puta je Varaždinskog groblja, zaštićenog spomenika kulture i službeno među tri najljepša groblja u Europi. Groblje je posjećena turistička destinacija, pa skulptura u ovom parku garantira međunarodnu viđenost.

Izrada i postavljanje skulpture dogovoreno je u vrijeme njegova mandata, pred lokalne izbore u svibnju, a u suradnji s predstavnicima vjerskih zajednica grada. Svi su se složili o velikom značaji redovnika i redovnica za Varaždin, koji su tu otvarali škole, bolnice i ljekarne.

„Želja nam je bila da odamo počast tradiciji i značaju redovništva za Varaždin i u Varaždinu“, istaknuo je gradonačelnik tada za medije.

Lokaciju za skulpturu biralo je desetak vrhunskih stručnjaka s područja kulture, arhitekture i urbanizma. Iako je skulptura, u smanjenom obliku, stajala na stolu u Gradskoj vijećnici, za vrijeme sastanka, nitko nije uočio da je prvi redovnik likom Ivan Čehok.

Građani i lokalni mediji kažu da je „sličnost prevelika da bi se dogodila slučajno“. Lokalni mediji o gradonačelniku i skulpturi pišu pod nadnaslovom „Vjerovali ili ne“. O skulpturi „redovnika Čehoka“ danas su u Gradskoj vijećnici Varaždina gradonačelnik Bosilj i zamjenik Marković razgovarali s predstavnicima Varaždinske biskupije. Crkvenjaci su jasno izrazili nezadovoljstvo načinom prikaza crkvenih redova. Zaključak je da će se „nedostaci nastojati ukloniti“.

Ivan Čehok za Jutarnji demantira bilo kakvu vezu s izgledom redovnika.

- Povijest je puna skulptura sa sličnim, židovsko grčkim profilom. Da je redovnik lika Josipa Broza Tita, gradonačelnik Bosilj ne bi se bunio – rekao je bivši gradonačelnik Varaždina. Na društvenim mrežama je još dodao da ga je "i vlastita mama prepoznala u skulpturi".

Konačno, javio nam se i sam kipar Nikola Šanjek koji je na prozivke odgovorio - fotografijom.

- Poštovana, evo famoznog NOSA gospodina bivšeg gradonačelnika i skulpture fra Anzelma Canjuge. Uopće suprotno od navedenog u napisima. Grbav je nos od gospodina Čehoka, i prćast nos od skulpture. Molim da objavite fotografije da javnost vidi sliku, poručio je Šanjek.

Bivši gradonačelnik Varaždina Ivan Čehok dobio je „svoju“ skulpturu u gradskom parku Ivana Pavla II.
