Mario Celinić rano je jutros postao šesti Hrvat koji se popeo na Mount Everest. Na završni uspon krenuli su u subotu oko šest poslijepodne po lokalnom vremenu, na vrh su stigli rano jutros. To znači da pred sobom ima cijeli dan za spuštanje što su dobre okolnosti, piše Jutarnji.
Stipe Božić na Everest se popeo 1979. i 1989. Godine 2009. popele su se četiri članice ženske alpinističke ekspedicije - sestre Darija i Iris Bostjačić, Ena Vrbek i Milena Šijan.
Ova se godina za uspon na Everest pokazala kompliciranom zbog korona pandemije koja je stigla i do baznog kampa. Korona pozitivan u jednom je trenutku bio i Celinić. Pa je, svega par dana nakon što je upješno odradio prvi dio aklimatizacije i prvu rotaciju, helikopterom vraćen u Katmandu.
Sedam je dana proveo u hotelu, svaki dan prolazeći testove, jer je korona bila asimptomatska, dobro se fizički osjećao i nestrpljivo čekao povratak u bazni kamp, znajući da propušta dio aklimatizacije koji će morati odraditi, a da je vrijeme za penjanje na Everest ograničeno samo na svibanj.
Tad je, govoreći kakav fizički i mentalni profil čovjek mora biti da se odluči na uspon na Everest, zapisao:
"Moraš biti fizički dovoljno jak da se možeš nositi sa svojom težinom, i ruksakom od deset kilograma. Moraš imati alpinističkog iskustva. Znati se penjati po ledu i stijenama i biti naviknut na prizore visina, ponora. Moraš biti spreman na hladnoću, glavobolje, nespavanje...
Ono čega sam se najviše bojao, s čime sam slab i kakav moram tek postati je strpljenje i nepredvidive situacije i stvari. Volim imati stvari pod kontrolom i znati barem okvirnu situaciju. Bio sam spreman i prihvaćam situaciju da ću trebati sjediti u šatoru ako treba i deset dana zbog lošeg vremena ili da će biti gužva na usponu, pa ću stajati dva sata čekajući u redu...
Nisam nikako bio spreman na koronu."
Kad su mu rekli da je njegov test na koronu pozitivan to ja je psihički potreslo.
"Zbog toga se nisam javljao skoro nikome. Dan nakon što sam dao intervju za Jutarnji list o tome kako je korona došla u bazni logor Everest i ja sam dobio pozitivan test. Naime, prije nego što sam trebao krenuti na prvu rotaciju do 7000 metara i napraviti završne treninge i aklimatizaciju radili smo test na Covid. Nakon toga sam helikopterom transportiran u Kathmandu u samoizolaciju. Tamo sam proveo osam dana ležeći u krevetu u hotelskoj sobi potpuno zdrav ili barem bez simptoma koje uzrokuje korona. Bilo je noći kad sam plakao jer sad nisam tamo gdje bih trebao biti. Potom sam se tješio da barem nisam bolestan, jer je bilo ljudi iz ekipe s dosta lošim simptomima.
Težak kašalj, temperatura... neki su završili i u bolnici. Svaki dan sam radio testiranje, ali test je uvijek bio pozitivan. To me je razaralo. U nekim trenucima sam zaboravio zašto sam uopće ovdje. Neki ljudi iz tima koji su imali simptome nakon pet su dana dobili negativan test i vratili se na planinu. Ja ležim zdrav i svaki dan dobijem pozitivan test. To me je slomilo. Na to nisam računao. Tražio sam drugo mišljenje. Počeo vikati na sve i svakoga. Htio sam se isključiti iz tima, iz agencije i sam se popesti na planinu. Tko mi može zabraniti, mislim si."
No, nakon sedam dana psihičke agonije Celinić je dobio negativan nalaz na koronu. Nakon testiranja konačno je pisalo: negativan.
"Plakao sam i ja i čovjek iz agencije koja se brine o penjačima. On me je vozio svaki dan u bolnicu, plakao je kad sam dobio negativan test jer me više nije mogao gledati tako slomljena. Prije nego mi je dao nalaz, stisnuo je šake i digao ih u zrak kao da je pobjedio u nečemu i rekao mi: " Mario pobjedio si covid, napokon je negativan." I tada smo zaplakali. Sad je samo trebalo organizirati prijevoz nazad."
Preporuke organizatora bile su da se ne vraća odmah u bazni logor, na visinu od oko 5 300 metara, jer je tijelo izgubilo aklimatizaciju. Sugerirali su da ga se odveze i spusti na nešto niži Lobuche, pa da otamo dva dana lagano pješačeći stigne do baznog logora.
"Naravno da sam doletio direktno u bazni logor i već za dva dana bio u prvom visinskom logoru iznad ledenog slapa na 6000m. Da me moj vodič i prijatelj Big Tendi nije odgovorio vjerojatno bih se sad spuštao sa vrha. Ili možda ne...", o tome će kasnije Celinić.

Mario Celinić rano je jutros postao šesti Hrvat koji se popeo na Mount Everest. Na završni uspon krenuli su u subotu oko šest poslijepodne po lokalnom vremenu, na vrh su stigli rano jutros. To znači da pred sobom ima cijeli dan za spuštanje što su dobre okolnosti, piše Jutarnji.
Stipe Božić na Everest se popeo 1979. i 1989. Godine 2009. popele su se četiri članice ženske alpinističke ekspedicije - sestre Darija i Iris Bostjačić, Ena Vrbek i Milena Šijan.
Ova se godina za uspon na Everest pokazala kompliciranom zbog korona pandemije koja je stigla i do baznog kampa. Korona pozitivan u jednom je trenutku bio i Celinić. Pa je, svega par dana nakon što je upješno odradio prvi dio aklimatizacije i prvu rotaciju, helikopterom vraćen u Katmandu.
Sedam je dana proveo u hotelu, svaki dan prolazeći testove, jer je korona bila asimptomatska, dobro se fizički osjećao i nestrpljivo čekao povratak u bazni kamp, znajući da propušta dio aklimatizacije koji će morati odraditi, a da je vrijeme za penjanje na Everest ograničeno samo na svibanj.
Tad je, govoreći kakav fizički i mentalni profil čovjek mora biti da se odluči na uspon na Everest, zapisao:
"Moraš biti fizički dovoljno jak da se možeš nositi sa svojom težinom, i ruksakom od deset kilograma. Moraš imati alpinističkog iskustva. Znati se penjati po ledu i stijenama i biti naviknut na prizore visina, ponora. Moraš biti spreman na hladnoću, glavobolje, nespavanje...
Ono čega sam se najviše bojao, s čime sam slab i kakav moram tek postati je strpljenje i nepredvidive situacije i stvari. Volim imati stvari pod kontrolom i znati barem okvirnu situaciju. Bio sam spreman i prihvaćam situaciju da ću trebati sjediti u šatoru ako treba i deset dana zbog lošeg vremena ili da će biti gužva na usponu, pa ću stajati dva sata čekajući u redu...
Nisam nikako bio spreman na koronu."
Kad su mu rekli da je njegov test na koronu pozitivan to ja je psihički potreslo.
"Zbog toga se nisam javljao skoro nikome. Dan nakon što sam dao intervju za Jutarnji list o tome kako je korona došla u bazni logor Everest i ja sam dobio pozitivan test. Naime, prije nego što sam trebao krenuti na prvu rotaciju do 7000 metara i napraviti završne treninge i aklimatizaciju radili smo test na Covid. Nakon toga sam helikopterom transportiran u Kathmandu u samoizolaciju. Tamo sam proveo osam dana ležeći u krevetu u hotelskoj sobi potpuno zdrav ili barem bez simptoma koje uzrokuje korona. Bilo je noći kad sam plakao jer sad nisam tamo gdje bih trebao biti. Potom sam se tješio da barem nisam bolestan, jer je bilo ljudi iz ekipe s dosta lošim simptomima.
Težak kašalj, temperatura... neki su završili i u bolnici. Svaki dan sam radio testiranje, ali test je uvijek bio pozitivan. To me je razaralo. U nekim trenucima sam zaboravio zašto sam uopće ovdje. Neki ljudi iz tima koji su imali simptome nakon pet su dana dobili negativan test i vratili se na planinu. Ja ležim zdrav i svaki dan dobijem pozitivan test. To me je slomilo. Na to nisam računao. Tražio sam drugo mišljenje. Počeo vikati na sve i svakoga. Htio sam se isključiti iz tima, iz agencije i sam se popesti na planinu. Tko mi može zabraniti, mislim si."
No, nakon sedam dana psihičke agonije Celinić je dobio negativan nalaz na koronu. Nakon testiranja konačno je pisalo: negativan.
"Plakao sam i ja i čovjek iz agencije koja se brine o penjačima. On me je vozio svaki dan u bolnicu, plakao je kad sam dobio negativan test jer me više nije mogao gledati tako slomljena. Prije nego mi je dao nalaz, stisnuo je šake i digao ih u zrak kao da je pobjedio u nečemu i rekao mi: " Mario pobjedio si covid, napokon je negativan." I tada smo zaplakali. Sad je samo trebalo organizirati prijevoz nazad."
Preporuke organizatora bile su da se ne vraća odmah u bazni logor, na visinu od oko 5 300 metara, jer je tijelo izgubilo aklimatizaciju. Sugerirali su da ga se odveze i spusti na nešto niži Lobuche, pa da otamo dva dana lagano pješačeći stigne do baznog logora.
"Naravno da sam doletio direktno u bazni logor i već za dva dana bio u prvom visinskom logoru iznad ledenog slapa na 6000m. Da me moj vodič i prijatelj Big Tendi nije odgovorio vjerojatno bih se sad spuštao sa vrha. Ili možda ne...", o tome će kasnije Celinić.
