Dok Washington okuplja međunarodnu zajednicu protiv ruske agresije u Ukrajini, kod kuće je izbio sukob između tradicionalnih republikanaca odlučnih braniti demokraciju u inozemstvu i izolacionističke baze koja se pita zašto bi Sjedinjene Američke Države uopće trebala stati na stranu Ukrajine, prenosi Al Jazeera.

Uobičajeni konzervativni glasovi, koji zagovaraju oštar odgovor SAD-a, čuju se, kako se i očekivalo, jasno i glasno, ali proruski stav dobrog dijela republikanske desnice uznemirio je mnoge promatrače.

Neki republikanci u Zastupničkom domu, koji ove godine izlaze na kongresne izbore, prekinuli su s konzervativnom doktrinom uz glasnu poruku da Sjedinjene Američke Države ne bi trebale imati bilo kakvu ulogu u krizi.

- Ukrajina je udaljena više od 5.000 milja, dok kod kuće opasne droge i zločinci prolaze dvorišta mojih birača - napisao je na Twitteru krajnje desni zastupnik iz Arizone Paul Gosar. Arizona graniči s Meksikom te je pitanje imigranata i krijumčarenja drogom jedno od temeljnih političkih tema. Slične izjave moglo se čuti od najmanje desetak krajnjih desničara među republikancima.

Unutrašnji sukob u stranci

Za to vrijeme, većina republikanaca u Washingtonu – uključujući senatske čelnike – stoji uz dugogodišnju potporu Sjedinjenih Američkih Država suverenitetu Ukrajine. No, druga je priča među glasačima koji odbacuju američku retoriku koja je nekada definirala republikanizam Ronalda Reagana i Georgea Busha starijeg. Vjeruje se da je unutarnji sukob u stranci dijelom potaknut nepopularnim ratom u Iraku i neuspješnim povlačenjem iz Afganistana.

Ali, to nije sve, jer nova situacija ukazuje na proruski osjećaj koji se ukorijenio pod bivšim predsjednikom Donaldom Trumpom, koji je Vladimira Putina proglasio "vrlo cijenjenim" vođom i javno stao na stranu bivšeg špijuna KGB-a ispred vlastite vlade.

- Močvara, kako Trump naziva Washington, će poslati trupe u borbu protiv invazije na Ukrajinu. Neće slati trupe da zaustave invaziju na Sjedinjene Američke Države, jer su oni ti koji je pomažu - rekla je Liz Harrington, Trumpova glasnogovornica.

U senatskoj utrci u Ohiou republikanski kongresni kandidati J. D. Vance i njegov protivnik Bernie Moreno optužili su Bidenovu administraciju da je više zabrinuta za granice Ukrajine nego za južnu granicu Amerike.

Stalna retorika koju servira Fox News​

Čini se da je i desnica potaknuta stalnom retorikom koju je svake večeri gledateljima servira najgledaniji konzervativni voditelj Fox Newsa Tucker Carlson​, jedan od najutjecajnijih glasova u desničarskim medijima čiji je rad s odobravanjem pozdravila i ruska državna televizija.

Tucker Carlson je sugerirao da bi Sjedinjene Američke Države trebale podržavati energetski bogatu Rusiju u odnosu na svog prozapadnog susjeda, zanemarujući sigurnosna jamstva koja je Washington dao Kijevu kada je bivša sovjetska republika odustala od svog nuklearnog arsenala.

Tom Malinowski, demokratski kongresmen iz New Jerseyja, napisao je na Twitteru da njegov ured naziva sve više Carlsonovih gledatelja "uzrujanih što se ne priklanjamo Rusiji", prenosi Al Jazeera.

"Ljudi grade svoje mišljenje gledajući vijesti, to nije ništa novo", rekao je Malinowski dodajući: "Ono što jest novo je da imamo najmanje jednog voditelja na televiziji s ogromnom publikom koja niti ima niti traži informativnu protutežu negdje drugo".

Umjereni republikanski kongresmen Adam Kinzinger rekao je da je vidio mnogo poruka, koje glasači šalju republikancima iz Zastupničkog Doma, u kojima pitaju zašto je Bidenu dopušteno "provocirati Rusiju". To, naravno, ne znači da republikanci u cjelini ne podržavaju čvrst stav protiv moskovskog ekspanzionizma. Najmanje 51 posto republikanaca daje potporu za američku vojnu intervenciju u slučaju invazije. Oko 40 posto republikanaca smatra da Sjedinjene Američke Države nemaju dužnost štiti Ukrajinu.

Razlozi, otpor i briga

Kako navodi Al Jazeera, povjesničarka Carly Cooperman, koja je napisala knjigu o podjelama u američkoj politici, rekla je da značajan dio republikanskih glasača sada vidi Putinovu Rusiju kao saveznika u desnom, radikalnom, nacionalizmu.

- Kao snažni nacionalisti ovi republikanci su protiv NATO-a. To je upravo ono što Rusija želi. Trump je imao veliki utjecaj na stvaranje takvih osjećaja budući da je općenito bio topliji prema Rusiji, a isto tako i Tucker Carlson i nekoliko drugih voditelja na desničarskim kanalima Newsmax i OAN, koji zagovaraju prorusku poziciju u svojim emisijama".

Republikanski kongresmen iz Ohioa, Michael Turner, gradonačelnik Daytona u vrijeme mirovnih pregovora o Bosni i Hercegovini 1995. godine, najviše rangiran republikanac u Odboru za obavještajne poslove Zastupničkog doma, otišao je na Fox News kako bi se suočio s Carlsonom.

"Zašto bismo stali na stranu Ukrajine, a ne na stranu Rusije?", uzviknuo je Carlson.

Kongresmen Turner je odgovorio: "Zato što je Ukrajina demokracija. Rusija je autoritarni režim koji nastoji nametnuti svoju volju demokratskom sustavu u Ukrajini, a mi smo na strani demokracije".

Ono što više zabrinjava umjerene Amerikance je to da bi desnica moglo potaknuti američke saveznike da dovedu u pitanje odlučnost Washingtona u suprotstavljanju Rusima. Američki saveznici prate što se događa i posve je sigurno da ih brinu znaci podjele među Amerikancima. Treba naglasiti da nije riječ o velikoj podjeli, da nije riječ o velikoj potpori Rusiji, ali to što Trumpovi desničarski zakonodavci rade može biti, na duge staze gledano, pogubno i za američku demokraciju i za globalni američki status, piše Al Jazeera.

Dok Washington okuplja međunarodnu zajednicu protiv ruske agresije u Ukrajini, kod kuće je izbio sukob između tradicionalnih republikanaca odlučnih braniti demokraciju u inozemstvu i izolacionističke baze koja se pita zašto bi Sjedinjene Američke Države uopće trebala stati na stranu Ukrajine, prenosi Al Jazeera.

Uobičajeni konzervativni glasovi, koji zagovaraju oštar odgovor SAD-a, čuju se, kako se i očekivalo, jasno i glasno, ali proruski stav dobrog dijela republikanske desnice uznemirio je mnoge promatrače.

Neki republikanci u Zastupničkom domu, koji ove godine izlaze na kongresne izbore, prekinuli su s konzervativnom doktrinom uz glasnu poruku da Sjedinjene Američke Države ne bi trebale imati bilo kakvu ulogu u krizi.

- Ukrajina je udaljena više od 5.000 milja, dok kod kuće opasne droge i zločinci prolaze dvorišta mojih birača - napisao je na Twitteru krajnje desni zastupnik iz Arizone Paul Gosar. Arizona graniči s Meksikom te je pitanje imigranata i krijumčarenja drogom jedno od temeljnih političkih tema. Slične izjave moglo se čuti od najmanje desetak krajnjih desničara među republikancima.

Unutrašnji sukob u stranci

Za to vrijeme, većina republikanaca u Washingtonu – uključujući senatske čelnike – stoji uz dugogodišnju potporu Sjedinjenih Američkih Država suverenitetu Ukrajine. No, druga je priča među glasačima koji odbacuju američku retoriku koja je nekada definirala republikanizam Ronalda Reagana i Georgea Busha starijeg. Vjeruje se da je unutarnji sukob u stranci dijelom potaknut nepopularnim ratom u Iraku i neuspješnim povlačenjem iz Afganistana.

Ali, to nije sve, jer nova situacija ukazuje na proruski osjećaj koji se ukorijenio pod bivšim predsjednikom Donaldom Trumpom, koji je Vladimira Putina proglasio "vrlo cijenjenim" vođom i javno stao na stranu bivšeg špijuna KGB-a ispred vlastite vlade.

- Močvara, kako Trump naziva Washington, će poslati trupe u borbu protiv invazije na Ukrajinu. Neće slati trupe da zaustave invaziju na Sjedinjene Američke Države, jer su oni ti koji je pomažu - rekla je Liz Harrington, Trumpova glasnogovornica.

U senatskoj utrci u Ohiou republikanski kongresni kandidati J. D. Vance i njegov protivnik Bernie Moreno optužili su Bidenovu administraciju da je više zabrinuta za granice Ukrajine nego za južnu granicu Amerike.

Stalna retorika koju servira Fox News​

Čini se da je i desnica potaknuta stalnom retorikom koju je svake večeri gledateljima servira najgledaniji konzervativni voditelj Fox Newsa Tucker Carlson​, jedan od najutjecajnijih glasova u desničarskim medijima čiji je rad s odobravanjem pozdravila i ruska državna televizija.

Tucker Carlson je sugerirao da bi Sjedinjene Američke Države trebale podržavati energetski bogatu Rusiju u odnosu na svog prozapadnog susjeda, zanemarujući sigurnosna jamstva koja je Washington dao Kijevu kada je bivša sovjetska republika odustala od svog nuklearnog arsenala.

Tom Malinowski, demokratski kongresmen iz New Jerseyja, napisao je na Twitteru da njegov ured naziva sve više Carlsonovih gledatelja "uzrujanih što se ne priklanjamo Rusiji", prenosi Al Jazeera.

"Ljudi grade svoje mišljenje gledajući vijesti, to nije ništa novo", rekao je Malinowski dodajući: "Ono što jest novo je da imamo najmanje jednog voditelja na televiziji s ogromnom publikom koja niti ima niti traži informativnu protutežu negdje drugo".

Umjereni republikanski kongresmen Adam Kinzinger rekao je da je vidio mnogo poruka, koje glasači šalju republikancima iz Zastupničkog Doma, u kojima pitaju zašto je Bidenu dopušteno "provocirati Rusiju". To, naravno, ne znači da republikanci u cjelini ne podržavaju čvrst stav protiv moskovskog ekspanzionizma. Najmanje 51 posto republikanaca daje potporu za američku vojnu intervenciju u slučaju invazije. Oko 40 posto republikanaca smatra da Sjedinjene Američke Države nemaju dužnost štiti Ukrajinu.

Razlozi, otpor i briga

Kako navodi Al Jazeera, povjesničarka Carly Cooperman, koja je napisala knjigu o podjelama u američkoj politici, rekla je da značajan dio republikanskih glasača sada vidi Putinovu Rusiju kao saveznika u desnom, radikalnom, nacionalizmu.

- Kao snažni nacionalisti ovi republikanci su protiv NATO-a. To je upravo ono što Rusija želi. Trump je imao veliki utjecaj na stvaranje takvih osjećaja budući da je općenito bio topliji prema Rusiji, a isto tako i Tucker Carlson i nekoliko drugih voditelja na desničarskim kanalima Newsmax i OAN, koji zagovaraju prorusku poziciju u svojim emisijama".

Republikanski kongresmen iz Ohioa, Michael Turner, gradonačelnik Daytona u vrijeme mirovnih pregovora o Bosni i Hercegovini 1995. godine, najviše rangiran republikanac u Odboru za obavještajne poslove Zastupničkog doma, otišao je na Fox News kako bi se suočio s Carlsonom.

"Zašto bismo stali na stranu Ukrajine, a ne na stranu Rusije?", uzviknuo je Carlson.

Kongresmen Turner je odgovorio: "Zato što je Ukrajina demokracija. Rusija je autoritarni režim koji nastoji nametnuti svoju volju demokratskom sustavu u Ukrajini, a mi smo na strani demokracije".

Ono što više zabrinjava umjerene Amerikance je to da bi desnica moglo potaknuti američke saveznike da dovedu u pitanje odlučnost Washingtona u suprotstavljanju Rusima. Američki saveznici prate što se događa i posve je sigurno da ih brinu znaci podjele među Amerikancima. Treba naglasiti da nije riječ o velikoj podjeli, da nije riječ o velikoj potpori Rusiji, ali to što Trumpovi desničarski zakonodavci rade može biti, na duge staze gledano, pogubno i za američku demokraciju i za globalni američki status, piše Al Jazeera.
