Svi koji drže da je međunarodno pravo u današnjem svijetu doživjelo slom ovog su tjedna dobili potvrdu: predsjednik SAD-a Donald Trump u utorak je javno priznao da je 2017. planirao atentat na sirijskog predsjednika Bashara al-Assada, u čemu ga je spriječio tadašnji ministar obrane James Mattis.

„Radije bih da smo uklonili Assada. Sve je već bilo spremno. Mattis nije htio da to napravimo. Meni bi bilo svejedno. Imao sam priliku i mogao sam ga riješiti, ali Mattis je bio protiv. Mattis je bio protiv puno toga”, izjavio je Trump u emisiji „Fox & Friends” na američkoj TV mreži Fox.

Već i spoznaja da predsjednik jedne države – i to one koja sebe smatra „predvodnicom slobodnog svijeta” - drži potpuno normalnim da likvidira legalnog i legitimnog šefa druge države predstavlja flagrantno kršenje svega što podrazumijevamo pod međunarodnim pravom i međunarodnim poretkom. No, dodatna zanimljivost u ovoj priči je činjenica da je ovu Trumpovu namjeru čuveni američki novinar Bob Woodward objelodanio još 2018. u svojoj knjizi „Strah: Trump u Bijeloj kući”.

U toj je knjizi Woodward - koji je postao svjetski poznat nakon što je skupa s kolegom Carlom Bernsteinom prije pola stoljeća otkrio aferu „Watergate”, koja je srušila tadašnjeg američkog predsjednika Richarda Nixona – sugerirao da je Trump planirao atentat na Assada, što je Trump tada žestoko demantirao, tvrdeći da se radi o „potpunoj fikciji”.

Donald ima 10 ili 11 godina

Spomenutu knjigu Woodward je napisao na temelju uvida u službene dokumente i stotina sati intervjua sa službenicima Trumpove administracije i drugim izvorima, pri čemu je koristio metodu koju je opisao kao „duboku pozadinu”, što zapravo znači da je dobio dozvolu za korištenje citata od onih koji su ih izgovorili ili čuli, ali bez navođenja imena izvora.

Tako su američki čitatelji u njegovoj knjizi mogli pročitati da je tadašnji ministar Mattis odlučio ignorirati Trumpovu zapovijed da „idemo unutra i ubijemo” sirijskog predsjednika Bashara al-Asada nakon napada kemijskim oružjem koji je sirijska vojska u travnju 2017. navodno izvela nad civilima na teritoriju pod kontrolom pobunjenika. Umjesto atentata na Assada, američka vojska tada je izvela simboličan raketni napad na jednu napola napuštenu zračnu bazu sirijske vojske.

Štoviše, Woodward u knjizi prenosi i navodnu Mattisovu izjavu da se Trump „ponaša i ima razumijevanje kao učenik od 10 ili 11 godina”.

Premda je nakon izlaska knjige i Mattis demantirao Woodwardove navode da je sabotirao Trumpove odluke i vrijeđao ga iza leđa – izjavivši kako je ideja da bi on „pokazao prijezir prema izabranom vrhovnom zapovjedniku, Donaldu Trumpu... produkt nečije bogate mašte” – ovo aktualno Trumpovo priznanje da je doista htio izvesti atentat na sirijskog predsjednika daje Woodwardu za pravo.

Gromoglasna šutnja

Uostalom, da Trumpu nisu strane ideje o likvidaciji visokih dužnosnika drugih zemalja pokazuje atentat na vodećeg iranskoga generala Qassema Soleimanija – koji je početkom ove godine ubijen napadom američkog drona na aerodromu u Bagdadu - čime se predsjednik SAD-a i danas hvali, iako je taj sumanuti čin doveo iransko-američke odnose na rub ratnog stanja. Stoga se ne treba čuditi ako je aktualni stanar Bijele kuće doista namjeravao likvidirati i predsjednika Sirije.

Da je međunarodno pravo ozbiljno nagrđeno, vidi se i iz izostanka ozbiljnih i suvislih reakcija svjetskih čelnika i institucija na Trumpovo priznanje da je htio ubiti predsjednika Assada. Posvemašnju „gromoglasnu šutnju” narušio je tek službeni Damask: sirijsko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova poručilo je kako su ovi Trumpovi komentari potvrda da je SAD „odmetnuta država”, odnosno da se Trumpova administracija ponaša i djeluje „poput terorističke organizacije”.

„Taktike koje Amerikanci koriste iste su one kojima se koriste terorističke organizacije - ubijanje i atentati. Ovi Trumpovi komentari također su potvrda da je SAD odmetnuta država”, navodi se u izjavi iz Damaska.

Ostaje nejasno zbog čega je američki predsjednik sada izašao s ovim priznanjem. Dio objašnjenja vjerojatno se krije u „osjećaju izuzetnosti” koje američke administracije sebi pripisuju u odnosu na ostatak svijeta, a moguće je i kako Trump vjeruje da će mu uoči predstojećih američkih izbora to donijeti dodatne poene u očima njegovih birača.

Svi koji drže da je međunarodno pravo u današnjem svijetu doživjelo slom ovog su tjedna dobili potvrdu: predsjednik SAD-a Donald Trump u utorak je javno priznao da je 2017. planirao atentat na sirijskog predsjednika Bashara al-Assada, u čemu ga je spriječio tadašnji ministar obrane James Mattis.

„Radije bih da smo uklonili Assada. Sve je već bilo spremno. Mattis nije htio da to napravimo. Meni bi bilo svejedno. Imao sam priliku i mogao sam ga riješiti, ali Mattis je bio protiv. Mattis je bio protiv puno toga”, izjavio je Trump u emisiji „Fox & Friends” na američkoj TV mreži Fox.

Već i spoznaja da predsjednik jedne države – i to one koja sebe smatra „predvodnicom slobodnog svijeta” - drži potpuno normalnim da likvidira legalnog i legitimnog šefa druge države predstavlja flagrantno kršenje svega što podrazumijevamo pod međunarodnim pravom i međunarodnim poretkom. No, dodatna zanimljivost u ovoj priči je činjenica da je ovu Trumpovu namjeru čuveni američki novinar Bob Woodward objelodanio još 2018. u svojoj knjizi „Strah: Trump u Bijeloj kući”.

U toj je knjizi Woodward - koji je postao svjetski poznat nakon što je skupa s kolegom Carlom Bernsteinom prije pola stoljeća otkrio aferu „Watergate”, koja je srušila tadašnjeg američkog predsjednika Richarda Nixona – sugerirao da je Trump planirao atentat na Assada, što je Trump tada žestoko demantirao, tvrdeći da se radi o „potpunoj fikciji”.

Donald ima 10 ili 11 godina

Spomenutu knjigu Woodward je napisao na temelju uvida u službene dokumente i stotina sati intervjua sa službenicima Trumpove administracije i drugim izvorima, pri čemu je koristio metodu koju je opisao kao „duboku pozadinu”, što zapravo znači da je dobio dozvolu za korištenje citata od onih koji su ih izgovorili ili čuli, ali bez navođenja imena izvora.

Tako su američki čitatelji u njegovoj knjizi mogli pročitati da je tadašnji ministar Mattis odlučio ignorirati Trumpovu zapovijed da „idemo unutra i ubijemo” sirijskog predsjednika Bashara al-Asada nakon napada kemijskim oružjem koji je sirijska vojska u travnju 2017. navodno izvela nad civilima na teritoriju pod kontrolom pobunjenika. Umjesto atentata na Assada, američka vojska tada je izvela simboličan raketni napad na jednu napola napuštenu zračnu bazu sirijske vojske.

Štoviše, Woodward u knjizi prenosi i navodnu Mattisovu izjavu da se Trump „ponaša i ima razumijevanje kao učenik od 10 ili 11 godina”.

Premda je nakon izlaska knjige i Mattis demantirao Woodwardove navode da je sabotirao Trumpove odluke i vrijeđao ga iza leđa – izjavivši kako je ideja da bi on „pokazao prijezir prema izabranom vrhovnom zapovjedniku, Donaldu Trumpu... produkt nečije bogate mašte” – ovo aktualno Trumpovo priznanje da je doista htio izvesti atentat na sirijskog predsjednika daje Woodwardu za pravo.

Gromoglasna šutnja

Uostalom, da Trumpu nisu strane ideje o likvidaciji visokih dužnosnika drugih zemalja pokazuje atentat na vodećeg iranskoga generala Qassema Soleimanija – koji je početkom ove godine ubijen napadom američkog drona na aerodromu u Bagdadu - čime se predsjednik SAD-a i danas hvali, iako je taj sumanuti čin doveo iransko-američke odnose na rub ratnog stanja. Stoga se ne treba čuditi ako je aktualni stanar Bijele kuće doista namjeravao likvidirati i predsjednika Sirije.

Da je međunarodno pravo ozbiljno nagrđeno, vidi se i iz izostanka ozbiljnih i suvislih reakcija svjetskih čelnika i institucija na Trumpovo priznanje da je htio ubiti predsjednika Assada. Posvemašnju „gromoglasnu šutnju” narušio je tek službeni Damask: sirijsko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova poručilo je kako su ovi Trumpovi komentari potvrda da je SAD „odmetnuta država”, odnosno da se Trumpova administracija ponaša i djeluje „poput terorističke organizacije”.

„Taktike koje Amerikanci koriste iste su one kojima se koriste terorističke organizacije - ubijanje i atentati. Ovi Trumpovi komentari također su potvrda da je SAD odmetnuta država”, navodi se u izjavi iz Damaska.

Ostaje nejasno zbog čega je američki predsjednik sada izašao s ovim priznanjem. Dio objašnjenja vjerojatno se krije u „osjećaju izuzetnosti” koje američke administracije sebi pripisuju u odnosu na ostatak svijeta, a moguće je i kako Trump vjeruje da će mu uoči predstojećih američkih izbora to donijeti dodatne poene u očima njegovih birača.

Američki predsjednik priznao planirani atentat na Assada!? Sirija: Trump radi što i teroristi

Svi koji drže da je međunarodno pravo u današnjem svijetu doživjelo slom ovog su tjedna dobili potvrdu: predsjednik SAD-a Donald Trump u utorak je javno priznao da je 2017. planirao atentat na sirijskog predsjednika Bashara al-Assada, u čemu ga je spriječio tadašnji ministar obrane James Mattis.

„Radije bih da smo uklonili Assada. Sve je već bilo spremno. Mattis nije htio da to napravimo. Meni bi bilo svejedno. Imao sam priliku i mogao sam ga riješiti, ali Mattis je bio protiv. Mattis je bio protiv puno toga”, izjavio je Trump u emisiji „Fox & Friends” na američkoj TV mreži Fox.

Već i spoznaja da predsjednik jedne države – i to one koja sebe smatra „predvodnicom slobodnog svijeta” - drži potpuno normalnim da likvidira legalnog i legitimnog šefa druge države predstavlja ...
