Dobitnici  Nobelove nagrade za medicinu u 2021. su Amerikanac David Julius te također američki državljanin libanonsko-armenskog podrijetla Ardem Patapoutian, zaslužni za otkriće načina na koji živčani sustav osjeća temperaturu i dodir, objavljeno je u utorak u Stockholmu. 

Njihova "revolucionarna otkrića" omogućila su "razumijevanje kako toplina, hladnoća i mehanička sila mogu potaknuti nervne impulse koji nam omogućuju da percipiramo i prilagodimo se svijetu", objavio je žiri Nobelove nagrade na konferenciji u  Karolinska Institutu u  Stockholmu.

"To znanje koristi se za razvoj terapija za širok raspon bolesti, uključivo za kroničnu bol", objašnjava se. 

Nagrada koju svake godine pojedincima ili skupinama čiji su uspjesi iznimni dodjeljuje Švedska Kraljevska Akademija znanosti donosi dobitniku 10 milijuna švedskih kruna, što je nešto manje od milijun eura.

Dobitnici  Nobelove nagrade za medicinu u 2021. su Amerikanac David Julius te također američki državljanin libanonsko-armenskog podrijetla Ardem Patapoutian, zaslužni za otkriće načina na koji živčani sustav osjeća temperaturu i dodir, objavljeno je u utorak u Stockholmu. 

Njihova "revolucionarna otkrića" omogućila su "razumijevanje kako toplina, hladnoća i mehanička sila mogu potaknuti nervne impulse koji nam omogućuju da percipiramo i prilagodimo se svijetu", objavio je žiri Nobelove nagrade na konferenciji u  Karolinska Institutu u  Stockholmu.

"To znanje koristi se za razvoj terapija za širok raspon bolesti, uključivo za kroničnu bol", objašnjava se. 

Nagrada koju svake godine pojedincima ili skupinama čiji su uspjesi iznimni dodjeljuje Švedska Kraljevska Akademija znanosti donosi dobitniku 10 milijuna švedskih kruna, što je nešto manje od milijun eura.
