Onečišćeni heroin mogući je uzrok pojave antraksa među heroinskim ovisnicima u Škotskoj gdje je ubio šestero osoba i zarazio još desetak, rekli su u četvrtak dužnosnici zdravstvenih službi a prenosi agencija Associated press.

Vjeruje se da su svi oboljeli konzumirali heroin, rekao je glasnogovornik škotske Agencije za zdravstvenu zaštitu koji je tražio ostati neimenovan u skladu s praksom vladinih službi. Agencija je rekla da se istražuju i drugi slučajevi ali nije točnije navela koliko ih je.

Stručnjaci su rekli da je moguće da je bolest raširila neka praškasta tvar uporabljena za razblaživanje droge. Škotski dužnosnici su upozorili da bi se moglo pojaviti novi slučajevi izvan Glasgowa gdje su preminule četiri osobe. Još dvije soobe umrle su u Dundeeju i Forth Valleyu.

Antraks je bolest životinja i može se liječiti antibioticima ako se na vrijeme dijagnosticira. Obično se ne prenosi sa čovjeka na čovjeka a ako se ne liječi može biti fatalna.

"Uživaoci heroina u Škotskoj moraju biti svijesni rizika potencijalno kontaminirane pošiljke droge", rekao je Colin Ramsay, epidemiolog savjetnik pri škotskoj agenciji za zdravstvenu zaštitu.

Onečišćeni heroin mogući je uzrok pojave antraksa među heroinskim ovisnicima u Škotskoj gdje je ubio šestero osoba i zarazio još desetak, rekli su u četvrtak dužnosnici zdravstvenih službi a prenosi agencija Associated press.

Vjeruje se da su svi oboljeli konzumirali heroin, rekao je glasnogovornik škotske Agencije za zdravstvenu zaštitu koji je tražio ostati neimenovan u skladu s praksom vladinih službi. Agencija je rekla da se istražuju i drugi slučajevi ali nije točnije navela koliko ih je.

Stručnjaci su rekli da je moguće da je bolest raširila neka praškasta tvar uporabljena za razblaživanje droge. Škotski dužnosnici su upozorili da bi se moglo pojaviti novi slučajevi izvan Glasgowa gdje su preminule četiri osobe. Još dvije soobe umrle su u Dundeeju i Forth Valleyu.

Antraks je bolest životinja i može se liječiti antibioticima ako se na vrijeme dijagnosticira. Obično se ne prenosi sa čovjeka na čovjeka a ako se ne liječi može biti fatalna.

"Uživaoci heroina u Škotskoj moraju biti svijesni rizika potencijalno kontaminirane pošiljke droge", rekao je Colin Ramsay, epidemiolog savjetnik pri škotskoj agenciji za zdravstvenu zaštitu.
