Očaj u europskim prijestolnicama kada je u pitanju vojna industrijska proizvodnja, koja je svjesno rezana na elementarne razine nakon percepcije nestanka prijetnje s kolapsom Sovjetskog Saveza, a gotovo do neizdrživosti prenapregnuta nakon ruske invazije na Ukrajinu, već je duže tema brojnih stručnih, ali i političkih analiza.
Europske su zalihe oružja velikim dijelom na rekordno niskim razinama, a brzo pokretanje vojne industrije koja bi u kratkom roku počela proizvoditi dovoljne količine oružja i opreme nije moguće nakon desetljeća zanemarivanja, a ono što bi se čak i u brzom osovljavanju industrije na noge u početku proizvodilo, ne bi bilo dostatno niti za Ukrajinu, a kamoli za popunjavanje vlastitih zaliha - prenosi Jutarnji list.
Potvrda toga koliko je situacija po tom pitanju sumorna stiže iz Belgije - naime, belgijskoj vojsci toliko nedostaje streljiva i novčanih sredstava da bi vojnici "morali bacati kamenje" nedugo nakon početka bilo kakvog sukoba, rekao je bivši visoki pripadnik belgijske vojske, general Marc Thys, kako javlja Politico.
Thys, koji je nedavno otišao u mirovinu s činom general-pukovnika, izjavio je u utorak na javnom servisu VRT da bi osiguranje zaliha streljiva za obranu od napada koji bi trajao do dva mjeseca zahtijevalo ulaganje od 5 do 7 milijardi eura, što je daleko više nego što tamošnja vlada trenutačno izdvaja.
"Imao sam 15 milijuna eura godišnje za kupnju streljiva, ali to je sada povećano na 150 milijuna eura", rekao je Thys. "Ako ovdje izbije rat, morat ćemo bacati kamenje nakon samo nekoliko sati zbog nestašice streljiva", dodao je.
Politico procjenjuje da nestašica streljiva Belgiju ostavlja s vojskom iz kamenog doba.
Otkako je Rusija pokrenula svoju potpunu invaziju na Ukrajinu u veljači prošle godine, zapadne vlade isporučuju streljivo u Kijev kako bi mu pomogle u obrani od napada Moskve i ojačale svoju obranu.
Međutim, proizvođači oružja u europskom bloku muku muče s povećanjem kapaciteta za obnavljanje proizvodnje i održavanje zaliha koje se prazne kako se oružje šalje prema istoku, posebno kada je u pitanju topničko streljivo kalibra 155 milimetara. To znači da će Europska unija gotovo sigurno podbaciti kada je u pitanju ispunjavanje cilja koji je sama sebe nametnula u vezi isporuka Ukrajini.
Iako je napad na Belgiju malo vjerojatan, nestašica naoružanja stavlja u fokus održivost nastavka isporuka oružja Ukrajini ako se zalihe zemlje maksimalno istope.
U studenom, nedugo nakon Thysovog umirovljenja, belgijska vlada potpisala je ugovor na dva desetljeća s lokalnim proizvođačem naoružanja FN Herstalom, uključujući i streljivo, no za isporuke dogovorenih količina će biti potrebno vrijeme.

Očaj u europskim prijestolnicama kada je u pitanju vojna industrijska proizvodnja, koja je svjesno rezana na elementarne razine nakon percepcije nestanka prijetnje s kolapsom Sovjetskog Saveza, a gotovo do neizdrživosti prenapregnuta nakon ruske invazije na Ukrajinu, već je duže tema brojnih stručnih, ali i političkih analiza.
Europske su zalihe oružja velikim dijelom na rekordno niskim razinama, a brzo pokretanje vojne industrije koja bi u kratkom roku počela proizvoditi dovoljne količine oružja i opreme nije moguće nakon desetljeća zanemarivanja, a ono što bi se čak i u brzom osovljavanju industrije na noge u početku proizvodilo, ne bi bilo dostatno niti za Ukrajinu, a kamoli za popunjavanje vlastitih zaliha - prenosi Jutarnji list.
Potvrda toga koliko je situacija po tom pitanju sumorna stiže iz Belgije - naime, belgijskoj vojsci toliko nedostaje streljiva i novčanih sredstava da bi vojnici "morali bacati kamenje" nedugo nakon početka bilo kakvog sukoba, rekao je bivši visoki pripadnik belgijske vojske, general Marc Thys, kako javlja Politico.
Thys, koji je nedavno otišao u mirovinu s činom general-pukovnika, izjavio je u utorak na javnom servisu VRT da bi osiguranje zaliha streljiva za obranu od napada koji bi trajao do dva mjeseca zahtijevalo ulaganje od 5 do 7 milijardi eura, što je daleko više nego što tamošnja vlada trenutačno izdvaja.
"Imao sam 15 milijuna eura godišnje za kupnju streljiva, ali to je sada povećano na 150 milijuna eura", rekao je Thys. "Ako ovdje izbije rat, morat ćemo bacati kamenje nakon samo nekoliko sati zbog nestašice streljiva", dodao je.
Politico procjenjuje da nestašica streljiva Belgiju ostavlja s vojskom iz kamenog doba.
Otkako je Rusija pokrenula svoju potpunu invaziju na Ukrajinu u veljači prošle godine, zapadne vlade isporučuju streljivo u Kijev kako bi mu pomogle u obrani od napada Moskve i ojačale svoju obranu.
Međutim, proizvođači oružja u europskom bloku muku muče s povećanjem kapaciteta za obnavljanje proizvodnje i održavanje zaliha koje se prazne kako se oružje šalje prema istoku, posebno kada je u pitanju topničko streljivo kalibra 155 milimetara. To znači da će Europska unija gotovo sigurno podbaciti kada je u pitanju ispunjavanje cilja koji je sama sebe nametnula u vezi isporuka Ukrajini.
Iako je napad na Belgiju malo vjerojatan, nestašica naoružanja stavlja u fokus održivost nastavka isporuka oružja Ukrajini ako se zalihe zemlje maksimalno istope.
U studenom, nedugo nakon Thysovog umirovljenja, belgijska vlada potpisala je ugovor na dva desetljeća s lokalnim proizvođačem naoružanja FN Herstalom, uključujući i streljivo, no za isporuke dogovorenih količina će biti potrebno vrijeme.
