Uzrok klizišta koji je uništio desetke kuća u Kaliforniji i dalje nije poznat, a mnoge kuće i dalje klize u provaliju i ništa se ne može napraviti da ih se zaustavi, piše Guardian.
Tri dana nakon što je klizište uništilo desetke kuća u južnoj Kaliforniji, uzrok nesreće i dalje nije jasan, dok brojne kuće i dalje nastavljaju kliziti prema kanjonu. Otkako se preko vikenda tlo između kuća počelo premještati i kliziti, 16 je ljudi moralo biti evakuirano.
Video koji su snimili vatrogasci iz Los Angelesa i objavili na Twitteru, pokazuje silnu štetu koja je nastala u naselju Rolling Hills Estate, 30 km južno od Los Angelesa, u kojem živi oko 8.000 ljudi. Prilazi pogođenim kućama u potpunosti su odvojeni od ceste, a urušili su se i brojni krovovi i garaža.
Nadzornica Janice Hahn koja vodi brigu i o spomenutom naselju, opisala je štetu kao ‘nevjerojatnu‘. ‘Koliko su mi rekli, ne može se napraviti ništa kako bi se ovo zaustavilo‘, kazala je Hahn za LA Times. ‘Sada možemo samo čekati i gledati kako se kuće ruše.‘
Lokalni procjenitelj obećao je da će ponovno određivati vrijednost uništenih nekretnina kako bi vlasnicima, eventualno, bio smanjen porez.

Gradsko vijeće Rolling Hillsa, gdje se klizanje tla događa, planira proglasiti izvanredno stanje. Naselje Rolling Hills osnovano je 1957. sa željom da se u tom brdovitom okolišu zadrži ‘ruralna atmosfera‘, stoji na službenoj web stranici tog gradića. Danas naselje nastanjuje uglavnom bjelačko i stanovništvo azijskog porijekla, a kućanstva imaju prosječna primanja od oko 160.000 dolara godišnje.
Tlo ispod naselja geolozi motre već 50 godina, s obzirom da se sediment na kojem leže temelji pogođenih kuća s vremenom slegnuo, naborao i pomaknuo.
‘Zamislite da izrežete udubinu u torti od trešanja: sva glazura će pasti u tu rupu i to je ono što se događa ovdje‘, kazao je Colin Robins, profesor znanosti o okolišu s Claremont McKenna koledža. ‘Bez obzira jesu li klizišta pokrenule kiše ili smo naprosto prešli točku s koje nema povratka, s geološkog gledišta bilo je samo pitanje vremena kad će se ovo dogoditi, piše Guardian.
Neki dužnosnici spekuliraju da su obilne kiše, koje su pogodile to područje Kalifornije prošle i početkom ove godine, možda pokrenule klizište. No, točan razlog neće biti poznat sve dok geolozi ne ispitaju tlo koje se odronilo.
Naselje Rolling Hills nalazi se na poluotoku Palos Verdes u Tihom oceanu i poznato je po svojim luksuznim imanjima i vinarijama. Ovo je područje također poznato i po svojoj ranjivosti na klizišta i mekanom sedimentu. Godine 1956. klizište je uništilo 140 domova u području Portuguese Bend u gradu Rancho Palos Verdes, također na poluotoku, a zemlja se ondje i dalje nastavlja pomicati.

Uzrok klizišta koji je uništio desetke kuća u Kaliforniji i dalje nije poznat, a mnoge kuće i dalje klize u provaliju i ništa se ne može napraviti da ih se zaustavi, piše Guardian.
Tri dana nakon što je klizište uništilo desetke kuća u južnoj Kaliforniji, uzrok nesreće i dalje nije jasan, dok brojne kuće i dalje nastavljaju kliziti prema kanjonu. Otkako se preko vikenda tlo između kuća počelo premještati i kliziti, 16 je ljudi moralo biti evakuirano.
Video koji su snimili vatrogasci iz Los Angelesa i objavili na Twitteru, pokazuje silnu štetu koja je nastala u naselju Rolling Hills Estate, 30 km južno od Los Angelesa, u kojem živi oko 8.000 ljudi. Prilazi pogođenim kućama u potpunosti su odvojeni od ceste, a urušili su se i brojni krovovi i garaža.
Nadzornica Janice Hahn koja vodi brigu i o spomenutom naselju, opisala je štetu kao ‘nevjerojatnu‘. ‘Koliko su mi rekli, ne može se napraviti ništa kako bi se ovo zaustavilo‘, kazala je Hahn za LA Times. ‘Sada možemo samo čekati i gledati kako se kuće ruše.‘
Lokalni procjenitelj obećao je da će ponovno određivati vrijednost uništenih nekretnina kako bi vlasnicima, eventualno, bio smanjen porez.

Gradsko vijeće Rolling Hillsa, gdje se klizanje tla događa, planira proglasiti izvanredno stanje. Naselje Rolling Hills osnovano je 1957. sa željom da se u tom brdovitom okolišu zadrži ‘ruralna atmosfera‘, stoji na službenoj web stranici tog gradića. Danas naselje nastanjuje uglavnom bjelačko i stanovništvo azijskog porijekla, a kućanstva imaju prosječna primanja od oko 160.000 dolara godišnje.
Tlo ispod naselja geolozi motre već 50 godina, s obzirom da se sediment na kojem leže temelji pogođenih kuća s vremenom slegnuo, naborao i pomaknuo.
‘Zamislite da izrežete udubinu u torti od trešanja: sva glazura će pasti u tu rupu i to je ono što se događa ovdje‘, kazao je Colin Robins, profesor znanosti o okolišu s Claremont McKenna koledža. ‘Bez obzira jesu li klizišta pokrenule kiše ili smo naprosto prešli točku s koje nema povratka, s geološkog gledišta bilo je samo pitanje vremena kad će se ovo dogoditi, piše Guardian.
Neki dužnosnici spekuliraju da su obilne kiše, koje su pogodile to područje Kalifornije prošle i početkom ove godine, možda pokrenule klizište. No, točan razlog neće biti poznat sve dok geolozi ne ispitaju tlo koje se odronilo.
Naselje Rolling Hills nalazi se na poluotoku Palos Verdes u Tihom oceanu i poznato je po svojim luksuznim imanjima i vinarijama. Ovo je područje također poznato i po svojoj ranjivosti na klizišta i mekanom sedimentu. Godine 1956. klizište je uništilo 140 domova u području Portuguese Bend u gradu Rancho Palos Verdes, također na poluotoku, a zemlja se ondje i dalje nastavlja pomicati.
