Analizom gotovo 75.000 oboljelih od koronavirusa, utvrđeno je značajno smanjenje teških simptoma poput moždanog udara, duboke venske tromboze i sepse, te manje prijema na hitne odjele i na odjele za intenzivnu njegu među onima koji su se prethodno cijepili protiv gripe, piše Guardian.

Iako prema istraživanju cjepivo protiv gripe nije smanjilo smrtnost od covida, pokazalo se kako ono može pružiti određenu zaštitu od koronavirusa na način da jača prirodni imunološki sustav.

Za ova najnovija saznanja postoji još jedno moguće objašnjenje – pacijenti koji su primili cjepivo protiv gripe možda su bili općenito boljeg zdravstvenog stanja od onih koji nisu primili cjepivo. No, iako su znanstvenici pokušali uzeti u obzir i ovu tezu, to baš i nije vjerojatno, prenosi HRT.

Uspiju li daljnja istraživanja potkrijepiti ova saznanja, najviše će koristi imati zemlje koje se do sada nisu mogle natjecati s bogatijim zemljama za covid cjepiva, i u kojima veliki teret kombinacije gripe i koronavirusa prijeti preopterećenju zdravstvenog sustava.

- Važno je naglasiti da apsolutno preporučujemo cjepivo protiv covida-19 i ni na koji način ne sugeriramo da je cjepivo protiv gripe zamjena za njega, izjavio je prof. Singh.

Istraživači su usporedili elektroničke zdravstvene kartone 37.377 pacijenata iz Velike Britanije, SAD-a i još nekoliko zemalja, koji su oboljeli od covida i primili cjepivo protiv gripe, s istim brojem pacijenata oboljelih od covida koji nisu bili cijepljeni protiv gripe. Pacijenti u obje skupinie podudarali su se u dobi, spolu, etničkoj pripadnosti, zdravstvenim problemima – uključujući dijabetes i plućne bolesti, te u čimbenicima životnog stila poput prehrane i pušenja. Znanstvenici su zatim analizirali koliko su česti pacijenti bolovali od bilo kojeg od 15 potencijalno ozbiljnih zdravstvenih stanja – od krvnih ugrušaka i srčanih udara, do zatajenja bubrega i dišnog sustava u periodu od 4 mjeseca nakon što im je dijagnosticirana zaraza koronavirusom. Nalazi predstavljeni na online sastanku Europskog društva za kliničku mikrobiologiju i zarazne bolesti sugeriraju da cjepivo protiv gripe može zaštititi od nekih medicinskih problema uzrokovanih covidom.

Prema istraživanjima, pacijenti s covidom koji nisu bili cijepljeni protiv gripe imali su 45% do 58% veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti moždani udar, oko 40% veću vjerojatnost za duboku vensku trombozu i 36% do 45% veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti sepsu. Također su imali veću vjerojatnost da će biti primljeni na odjel intenzivne skrbi i češće posjećivati bolničke hitne službe.

- Moguće je da cjepivo protiv gripe nespecifično stimulira imunološki sustav, ali uvijek se pitate jesu li te asocijacije uzročne ili postoji zajednički čimbenik - poput socijalne deprivacije, što bi moglo objasniti zašto idu ruku pod ruku, rekao je profesor Peter Openshaw, član vladine Savjetodavne skupine za nove i rastuće respiratorne virusne bolesti.

- Ljudi koji prime cjepivo protiv gripe mogli bi biti boljeg zdravlja. No, najbolji način da se zaštitite od covida je da primite cjepivo protiv covida, dodao je.

Sukladno savjetima Zajedničkog odbora za cijepljenje i imunologiju, britanski zdravstveni sustav planira od rujna nuditi covid cjepiva zajedno sa cjepivima protiv gripe. Analizom gotovo 75.000 oboljelih od koronavirusa, utvrđeno je značajno smanjenje teških simptoma poput moždanog udara, duboke venske tromboze i sepse, te manje prijema na hitne odjele i na odjele za intenzivnu njegu među onima koji su se prethodno cijepili protiv gripe, piše Guardian.

Iako prema istraživanju cjepivo protiv gripe nije smanjilo smrtnost od covida, pokazalo se kako ono može pružiti određenu zaštitu od koronavirusa na način da jača prirodni imunološki sustav.

Za ova najnovija saznanja postoji još jedno moguće objašnjenje – pacijenti koji su primili cjepivo protiv gripe možda su bili općenito boljeg zdravstvenog stanja od onih koji nisu primili cjepivo. No, iako su znanstvenici pokušali uzeti u obzir i ovu tezu, to baš i nije vjerojatno, prenosi HRT.

- Otkrili smo poveznicu koja pokazuje da cijepljenje protiv gripe nudi određenu zaštitu protiv teškog oblika covid-19, rekao je Devinder Singh, autor studije i profesor kliničke kirurgije na Miami Sveučilištu.

Uspiju li daljnja istraživanja potkrijepiti ova saznanja, najviše će koristi imati zemlje koje se do sada nisu mogle natjecati s bogatijim zemljama za covid cjepiva, i u kojima veliki teret kombinacije gripe i koronavirusa prijeti preopterećenju zdravstvenog sustava.

- Važno je naglasiti da apsolutno preporučujemo cjepivo protiv covida-19 i ni na koji način ne sugeriramo da je cjepivo protiv gripe zamjena za njega, izjavio je prof. Singh.

Istraživači su usporedili elektroničke zdravstvene kartone 37.377 pacijenata iz Velike Britanije, SAD-a i još nekoliko zemalja, koji su oboljeli od covida i primili cjepivo protiv gripe, s istim brojem pacijenata oboljelih od covida koji nisu bili cijepljeni protiv gripe. Pacijenti u obje skupinie podudarali su se u dobi, spolu, etničkoj pripadnosti, zdravstvenim problemima – uključujući dijabetes i plućne bolesti, te u čimbenicima životnog stila poput prehrane i pušenja. Znanstvenici su zatim analizirali koliko su česti pacijenti bolovali od bilo kojeg od 15 potencijalno ozbiljnih zdravstvenih stanja – od krvnih ugrušaka i srčanih udara, do zatajenja bubrega i dišnog sustava u periodu od 4 mjeseca nakon što im je dijagnosticirana zaraza koronavirusom. Nalazi predstavljeni na online sastanku Europskog društva za kliničku mikrobiologiju i zarazne bolesti sugeriraju da cjepivo protiv gripe može zaštititi od nekih medicinskih problema uzrokovanih covidom.

Prema istraživanjima, pacijenti s covidom koji nisu bili cijepljeni protiv gripe imali su 45% do 58% veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti moždani udar, oko 40% veću vjerojatnost za duboku vensku trombozu i 36% do 45% veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti sepsu. Također su imali veću vjerojatnost da će biti primljeni na odjel intenzivne skrbi i češće posjećivati bolničke hitne službe.

- Moguće je da cjepivo protiv gripe nespecifično stimulira imunološki sustav, ali uvijek se pitate jesu li te asocijacije uzročne ili postoji zajednički čimbenik - poput socijalne deprivacije, što bi moglo objasniti zašto idu ruku pod ruku, rekao je profesor Peter Openshaw, član vladine Savjetodavne skupine za nove i rastuće respiratorne virusne bolesti.

- Ljudi koji prime cjepivo protiv gripe mogli bi biti boljeg zdravlja. No, najbolji način da se zaštitite od covida je da primite cjepivo protiv covida, dodao je.

Sukladno savjetima Zajedničkog odbora za cijepljenje i imunologiju, britanski zdravstveni sustav planira od rujna nuditi covid cjepiva zajedno sa cjepivima protiv gripe. Britanski ministri su posebno zabrinuti da će se gripa, koja gotovo da nije postojala prošle sezone, opasno proširiti nadolazeću zimu, baš kao što ponovno raste broj slučajeva oboljelih od covida.

- Jedan od velikih rizika koji zabrinjava i mene i druge je loša sezona gripe – mogli bi se dogoditi da umre i do 20 tisuća ljudi, izjavio je ministar za cjepiva Nadhim Zahawi u „The Andrew Marr Show“ na BBC-u.

Analizom gotovo 75.000 oboljelih od koronavirusa, utvrđeno je značajno smanjenje teških simptoma poput moždanog udara, duboke venske tromboze i sepse, te manje prijema na hitne odjele i na odjele za intenzivnu njegu među onima koji su se prethodno cijepili protiv gripe, piše Guardian.
