Za milijune starijih ljudi koji žive u Ukrajini je bijeg iz ratnih područja vrlo težak i opasan. Jedna od njih je Erika Halši. Ima 80 godina i teško je bolesna, piše Deutsche Welle. 

Dok milijuni ljudi bježe od rata u Ukrajini - procjenjuje se da ih je dosada u inozemstvo prebjeglo više od četiri milijuna - Erika Halši zasad mora ostati. Ima 80 godina i dementna je. Zaboravlja gdje je i što radi. Više ne prepoznaje ni vlastitu kćer. Zbog tog stanja za nju bi bijeg s višednevnim čekanjem na granici bio vrlo težak.

U međuvremenu je Erikina kći Lesja stigla u Njemačkoj i vrlo je zabrinuta zbog majke. Starica živi u gradu Kaluš u zapadnoj Ukrajini od 1945. godine, kaže Lesja za DW. Imala je njemačke pretke, rođena je u Frankfurtu na Odri, a nakon Drugog svjetskog rata je odvedena u Sovjetski Savez. Nakon ponovnog ujedinjenja Njemačke i raspada Sovjetskog Saveza željela se vratiti u Njemačku i kći ju je u tome podržavala, ali vlasti su pravile probleme. Od kada je Rusija napala Ukrajinu krajem veljače, njih dvije su očajne.

Teška situacija za starce u Ukrajini

U sličnoj situaciji kao Erika Halši nalaze se mnogi stariji ljudi u Ukrajini – često su sami, bespomoćni i bez zaštite. 2020. godine je oko 16 posto stanovnika Ukrajine bilo starije od 65 godina. Na ukupnu populaciju od 44 milijuna stanovnika to znači više od sedam milijuna starijih osoba.

Prema navodima humanitarne organizacije Cap Anamur, na granicu kod Černovica uglavnom dolaze mlađe žene s djecom. Stariji ljudi su rijetki, kaže Bernd Göken, glavni direktor Cap Anamura. „Proteklih godina, dok smo bili angažirani na raznim manjim projektima u istočnoj Ukrajini, naš tim se brinuo i za mnoge starije osobe, od kojih su neki živjeli u vrlo lošim uvjetima", kaže Göken za DW. U kakvoj se situaciji oni sada nalaze, s obzirom da se u tom dijelu zemlje vode borbe, trenutno ne može procijeniti jer nema dovoljno informacija.

Rizično spašavanje

Nakon tri tjedna neuspješnih pokušaja i straha, Erikina kći Lesja početkom ožujka konačno je uspjela izvući 80-godišnjakinju iz Ukrajine. Akcija spašavanja je bila komplicirana. Sa sinom je išla na poljsko-ukrajinsku granicu. U Ukrajini je dogovorila susret s njegovateljicom svoje majke.

„Vrlo je teško sagledati cijelu situaciju”, kaže Lesja, opisujući stanje u ukrajinskoj pograničnoj regiji. „Svi plaču, svi su očajni, posvuda ima vojnika s kalašnjikovima. I ti prolaziš pored njih i ne znaš hoćeš li ikada više izaći iz zemlje."

Na dogovorenom mjestu sastanka Erika konačno sjeda u auto svoje kćeri. Staricu bole noge kada dugo sjedi. Svejedno se moraju uključiti u dugu kolonu na graničnom prijelazu. Od vojnika nema pomoći, kaže Lesja. Na kraju druge izbjeglice puštaju Eriku da prođe zbog njenog lošeg zdravstvenog stanja.

Upućeni na pomoć

U Ukrajini su starije osobe često prepuštene same sebi. Odgovarajućih staračkih domova je premalo, a i skupi su, kaže Lesja. U velikim gradovima poput Kijeva volonteri pokušavaju ublažiti bijedu i brinuti se za starije. Pravoslavna crkva također pomaže. Jedan od primjera je samostan sv. Mihovila u Odesi. Tamo su utočište našli mnogi stariji ljudi koji inače nisu imali gdje ići. Mnoge su tamo doveli njihovi rođaci.

Koliko je situacija ozbiljna unatoč ovoj pomoći pokazuje govor arhiepiskopa grčko-katoličke crkve u Kijevu Svjatoslava Ševčuka: „Mislim na mnoge od vas koji ste danas napušteni, prepušteni sami sebi, ostavljeni sami u hladnim stanovima, koji ste najviše pogođen ruskim bombama." Većina starih ljudi dolazi u crkve po komad kruha, rekao je Ševčuk i pozvao sve ljude da ne zaborave starije u Ukrajini i da se mole za njih.

Erika Halši je u međuvremenu stigla u Njemačku. Živi u stanu kćeri Lesje u Frankfurtu na Odri. Zbog demencije nemirno korača amo-tamo pokušavajući se orijentirati. „Ovo je naravno potpuna promjena u našim životima", kaže Lesja. „Samo joj želim dati svoju toplinu, pružiti joj sigurnost, iskazati zahvalnost."

No Lesja još ne zna kako će njegu majke uskladiti s vlastitim poslom. Najvažnije je, kaže, da uvijek netko bude uz njenu majku.

Za milijune starijih ljudi koji žive u Ukrajini je bijeg iz ratnih područja vrlo težak i opasan. Jedna od njih je Erika Halši. Ima 80 godina i teško je bolesna, piše Deutsche Welle. 

Dok milijuni ljudi bježe od rata u Ukrajini - procjenjuje se da ih je dosada u inozemstvo prebjeglo više od četiri milijuna - Erika Halši zasad mora ostati. Ima 80 godina i dementna je. Zaboravlja gdje je i što radi. Više ne prepoznaje ni vlastitu kćer. Zbog tog stanja za nju bi bijeg s višednevnim čekanjem na granici bio vrlo težak.

U međuvremenu je Erikina kći Lesja stigla u Njemačkoj i vrlo je zabrinuta zbog majke. Starica živi u gradu Kaluš u zapadnoj Ukrajini od 1945. godine, kaže Lesja za DW. Imala je njemačke pretke, rođena je u Frankfurtu na Odri, a nakon Drugog svjetskog rata je odvedena u Sovjetski Savez. Nakon ponovnog ujedinjenja Njemačke i raspada Sovjetskog Saveza željela se vratiti u Njemačku i kći ju je u tome podržavala, ali vlasti su pravile probleme. Od kada je Rusija napala Ukrajinu krajem veljače, njih dvije su očajne.

Teška situacija za starce u Ukrajini

U sličnoj situaciji kao Erika Halši nalaze se mnogi stariji ljudi u Ukrajini – često su sami, bespomoćni i bez zaštite. 2020. godine je oko 16 posto stanovnika Ukrajine bilo starije od 65 godina. Na ukupnu populaciju od 44 milijuna stanovnika to znači više od sedam milijuna starijih osoba.

Prema navodima humanitarne organizacije Cap Anamur, na granicu kod Černovica uglavnom dolaze mlađe žene s djecom. Stariji ljudi su rijetki, kaže Bernd Göken, glavni direktor Cap Anamura. „Proteklih godina, dok smo bili angažirani na raznim manjim projektima u istočnoj Ukrajini, naš tim se brinuo i za mnoge starije osobe, od kojih su neki živjeli u vrlo lošim uvjetima", kaže Göken za DW. U kakvoj se situaciji oni sada nalaze, s obzirom da se u tom dijelu zemlje vode borbe, trenutno ne može procijeniti jer nema dovoljno informacija.

Rizično spašavanje

Nakon tri tjedna neuspješnih pokušaja i straha, Erikina kći Lesja početkom ožujka konačno je uspjela izvući 80-godišnjakinju iz Ukrajine. Akcija spašavanja je bila komplicirana. Sa sinom je išla na poljsko-ukrajinsku granicu. U Ukrajini je dogovorila susret s njegovateljicom svoje majke.

„Vrlo je teško sagledati cijelu situaciju”, kaže Lesja, opisujući stanje u ukrajinskoj pograničnoj regiji. „Svi plaču, svi su očajni, posvuda ima vojnika s kalašnjikovima. I ti prolaziš pored njih i ne znaš hoćeš li ikada više izaći iz zemlje."

Na dogovorenom mjestu sastanka Erika konačno sjeda u auto svoje kćeri. Staricu bole noge kada dugo sjedi. Svejedno se moraju uključiti u dugu kolonu na graničnom prijelazu. Od vojnika nema pomoći, kaže Lesja. Na kraju druge izbjeglice puštaju Eriku da prođe zbog njenog lošeg zdravstvenog stanja.

Upućeni na pomoć

U Ukrajini su starije osobe često prepuštene same sebi. Odgovarajućih staračkih domova je premalo, a i skupi su, kaže Lesja. U velikim gradovima poput Kijeva volonteri pokušavaju ublažiti bijedu i brinuti se za starije. Pravoslavna crkva također pomaže. Jedan od primjera je samostan sv. Mihovila u Odesi. Tamo su utočište našli mnogi stariji ljudi koji inače nisu imali gdje ići. Mnoge su tamo doveli njihovi rođaci.

Koliko je situacija ozbiljna unatoč ovoj pomoći pokazuje govor arhiepiskopa grčko-katoličke crkve u Kijevu Svjatoslava Ševčuka: „Mislim na mnoge od vas koji ste danas napušteni, prepušteni sami sebi, ostavljeni sami u hladnim stanovima, koji ste najviše pogođen ruskim bombama." Većina starih ljudi dolazi u crkve po komad kruha, rekao je Ševčuk i pozvao sve ljude da ne zaborave starije u Ukrajini i da se mole za njih.

Erika Halši je u međuvremenu stigla u Njemačku. Živi u stanu kćeri Lesje u Frankfurtu na Odri. Zbog demencije nemirno korača amo-tamo pokušavajući se orijentirati. „Ovo je naravno potpuna promjena u našim životima", kaže Lesja. „Samo joj želim dati svoju toplinu, pružiti joj sigurnost, iskazati zahvalnost."

No Lesja još ne zna kako će njegu majke uskladiti s vlastitim poslom. Najvažnije je, kaže, da uvijek netko bude uz njenu majku.

Za milijune starijih ljudi koji žive u Ukrajini je bijeg iz ratnih područja vrlo težak i opasan. Jedna od njih je Erika Halši. Ima 80 godina i teško je bolesna, piše Deutsche Welle. 

Dok milijuni ljudi bježe od rata u Ukrajini - procjenjuje se da ih je dosada u inozemstvo prebjeglo više od četiri milijuna - Erika Halši zasad mora ostati. Ima 80 godina i dementna je. Zaboravlja gdje je i što radi. Više ne prepoznaje ni vlastitu kćer. Zbog tog stanja za nju bi bijeg s višednevnim čekanjem na granici bio vrlo težak.

U međuvremenu je Erikina kći Lesja stigla u Njemačkoj i vrlo je zabrinuta zbog majke. Starica živi u gradu Kaluš u zapadnoj Ukrajini od 1945. godine, kaže Lesja za DW. Imala je njemačke pretke, rođena je u Frankfurtu na Odri, a nakon Drugog svjetskog rata j...
