Znanstvenici iz Japana identificirali su novi patogen, prethodno nepoznat, koji se prenosi ugrizom krpelja, a detaljan opis novog virusa otkrivenog na otoku Hokaido i nazvan "yezo", objavljen je u "Nature Communications", prenosi Mondo.

Istraživači Sveučilišta Hokaido u studiji su naveli da su kod inficiranih primijetili postojanje akutne groznice, kao i smanjenje broja trombocita i leukocita. Osim toga, primijećena je i disfunkcija jetre.

U periodu od šest godina koliko je trajalo istraživanje, infekcija je otkrivena kod sedam pacijenata, a na sreću smrtnih slučajeva nije bilo. Ono što je potaknulo znanstvenike da se dublje pozabave ovim virusom bio je slučaj 41-godišnjeg muškarca koji je hospitaliziran sa simptomima kao što su groznica i bol u nogama, a koji su se javili kao posljedica ugriza krpelja.

Liječenje je trajalo dva tjedna. Godinu dana poslije, liječnici su liječili jednog drugog pacijenta sa sličnim simptomima. Ova dva slučaja potaknula su znanstvenike da detaljno analiziraju uzorke krvi od svih koji su se liječili s istom simptomatologijom.

Proveli su genetsku analizu patogena, nakon čega su uspjeli utvrditi da je riječ o virusu koji im prije nije bio poznat, a pripada rodu nairovirusa. Najsličniji je "sulina" i "tamdi" virusima, koji su otkriveni u Rumunjskoj i Uzbekistanu. "Tamdi" je posljednjih godina registriran u Kini kod pacijenata koji su imali akutnu groznicu.

U uzorcima krvi otkriveni su tragovi virusa "yezo" kod još najmanje pet pacijenata, od kojih su svi imali povišenu temperaturu, nisku razinu trombocita i leukocita. Kod ovih pacijenata su također uočeni znaci disfunkcije jetre.

"Najmanje sedam ljudi je zaraženo ovim novim virusom u Japanu od 2014. godine, ali do sada nije potvrđen nijedan smrtni slučaj", rekao je virusolog s Međunarodnog instituta za kontrolu zoonoze Keita Matsuno. Novi virus dobio je ime "yezo" (yezo) po starom japanskom nazivu za otok Hokaido, gdje je virus prvi put otkriven.

Znanstvenici su, tražeći izvor virusa, otkrili da je RNA "yezo" virusa prisutan kod tri vrste krpelja koji postoje na otoku. Antitijela na virus pronađena su kod jelena i rakuna koji naseljavaju to područje.

Matsuno je dodao da, iako trenutno nema smrtnih slučajeva povezanih s "yezo" virusom, testiranje izvan Hokaida i u bolnicama širom Japana sada je od vitalnog značaja.

"Svi slučajevi "yezo" virusa za koje znamo prošli su bez smrtnog ishoda, ali je vrlo moguće da bolest postoji i izvan Hokaida, zato je neophodno da što prije utvrdimo je li se i gdje proširio", kaže Matsuno, prenosi Mondo.

Znanstvenici iz Japana identificirali su novi patogen, prethodno nepoznat, koji se prenosi ugrizom krpelja, a detaljan opis novog virusa otkrivenog na otoku Hokaido i nazvan "yezo", objavljen je u "Nature Communications", prenosi Mondo.

Istraživači Sveučilišta Hokaido u studiji su naveli da su kod inficiranih primijetili postojanje akutne groznice, kao i smanjenje broja trombocita i leukocita. Osim toga, primijećena je i disfunkcija jetre.

U periodu od šest godina koliko je trajalo istraživanje, infekcija je otkrivena kod sedam pacijenata, a na sreću smrtnih slučajeva nije bilo. Ono što je potaknulo znanstvenike da se dublje pozabave ovim virusom bio je slučaj 41-godišnjeg muškarca koji je hospitaliziran sa simptomima kao što su groznica i bol u nogama, a koji su se javili kao posljedica ugriza krpelja.

Liječenje je trajalo dva tjedna. Godinu dana poslije, liječnici su liječili jednog drugog pacijenta sa sličnim simptomima. Ova dva slučaja potaknula su znanstvenike da detaljno analiziraju uzorke krvi od svih koji su se liječili s istom simptomatologijom.

Proveli su genetsku analizu patogena, nakon čega su uspjeli utvrditi da je riječ o virusu koji im prije nije bio poznat, a pripada rodu nairovirusa. Najsličniji je "sulina" i "tamdi" virusima, koji su otkriveni u Rumunjskoj i Uzbekistanu. "Tamdi" je posljednjih godina registriran u Kini kod pacijenata koji su imali akutnu groznicu.

U uzorcima krvi otkriveni su tragovi virusa "yezo" kod još najmanje pet pacijenata, od kojih su svi imali povišenu temperaturu, nisku razinu trombocita i leukocita. Kod ovih pacijenata su također uočeni znaci disfunkcije jetre.

"Najmanje sedam ljudi je zaraženo ovim novim virusom u Japanu od 2014. godine, ali do sada nije potvrđen nijedan smrtni slučaj", rekao je virusolog s Međunarodnog instituta za kontrolu zoonoze Keita Matsuno. Novi virus dobio je ime "yezo" (yezo) po starom japanskom nazivu za otok Hokaido, gdje je virus prvi put otkriven.

Znanstvenici su, tražeći izvor virusa, otkrili da je RNA "yezo" virusa prisutan kod tri vrste krpelja koji postoje na otoku. Antitijela na virus pronađena su kod jelena i rakuna koji naseljavaju to područje.

Matsuno je dodao da, iako trenutno nema smrtnih slučajeva povezanih s "yezo" virusom, testiranje izvan Hokaida i u bolnicama širom Japana sada je od vitalnog značaja.

Znanstvenici iz Japana identificirali su novi patogen, prethodno nepoznat, koji se prenosi ugrizom krpelja, a detaljan opis novog virusa otkrivenog na otoku Hokaido i nazvan "yezo", objavljen je u "Nature Communications", prenosi Mondo.

Istraživači Sveučilišta Hokaido u studiji su naveli da su kod inficiranih primijetili postojanje akutne groznice, kao i smanjenje broja trombocita i leukocita. Osim toga, primijećena je i disfunkcija jetre.

U periodu od šest godina koliko je trajalo istraživanje, infekcija je otkrivena kod sedam pacijenata, a na sreću smrtnih slučajeva nije bilo. Ono što je potaknulo znanstvenike da se dublje pozabave ovim virusom bio je slučaj 41-godišnjeg muškarca koji je hospitaliziran sa simptomima kao što su groznica i bol u nogama, a koji su se javili kao poslje...
