Era antibiotika započela je kad je Alexander Fleming pronašao penicilin. Njegovo otkriće predstavlja jedno od najvećih dostignuća medicine 20. stoljeća. Antibiotici su omogućili značajnom smanjenju morbiditeta i mortaliteta od bakterijskih infekcija, a mnoge fatalne bolesti postale su izlječive, čime se produžio životni vijek ljudi.
Još od pronalaska prvog antibiotika, Fleming je predviđao da će s vremenom upotreba ovih lijekova postati sve masovnija i nekritičnija, čemu upravo i svjedočimo. Ne samo u vezi s aktualnom pandemijom, već i mnogo prije toga, široka dostupnost i niska cijena dovele su do sve češćeg korištenja antibiotika, bez adekvatnog razloga i liječničke preporuke.
Iz toga se može zaključiti da je bilo neminovno da će previše antibiotika dovesti do otpornosti, odnosno rezistencije, patogenih bakterija, što je jedna od glavnih posljedica njihove nekritičke primjene.
Upravo to nas može vratiti u takozvanu "predantibiotsku eru", što bi bila veoma skupa cijena za čovječanstvo, jer predstavlja jednu od najvećih zdravstvenih prijetnji.
Doktor Miodrag Krstić, specijalist gastroenterolog i profesor na Medicinskom fakultetu u Beogradu, podsjeća da pojam "antimikrobna rezistencija" podrazumijeva otpornost bakterija na lijekove te da je to globalni problem, a ne tek problem naše regije. Iako se, kako kaže, na razini Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije poduzimaju različite mjere da se taj problem riješi, to nije nimalo lako, posebno zato što su se tijekom pandemije antibiotici često propisivali bez dokaza o bakterijskoj infekciji ili su ih pacijenti uzimali na svoju ruku.
- Bakterije su živa bića i imaju sklonost da se održe i prežive, tako da lako i brzo stječu otpornost i na najbolje antibiotike. Da bi se napravio jedan antibiotik potrebna je duga i komplicirana procedura. Trenutno je 20-30 supstanci u pretkliničkim istraživanjima da bi mogli da postanu antibiotici, i ako u sljedećih pet do deset godina samo njih pet to i uspije, mi ćemo biti sretni - istaknuo je doktor Krstić za Nova.rs.
On primjećuje da nisu samo pacijenti krivi za prekomjernu upotrebu, odnosno, zloupotrebu antibiotika.
- To je jedan multidisciplinarni problem koji obuhvaća i liječnike koji neadekvatno propisuju antibiotike, ali i veterinarsku medicinu, jer se u liječenju životinja koriste isti antibiotici koji se koriste i za liječenje ljudi. Antibiotska terapija je drugačija od drugih lijekova. Tako, na primjer, kod pacijenata s temperaturom nisu sve infekcije izazvane bakterijama, jer i virusi izazivaju infekcije, a antibiotici nisu lijekovi koji se koriste za liječenje virusnih infekcija. Također, povišena temperatura je nešto što se javlja i kod različitih imunoloških bolesti i hematoloških oboljenja, tako da nije svaka temperatura izazvana infekcijom, i nije svaka infekcija izazvana bakterijom, te neće kod svih pomoći antibiotska terapija. Antibiotici se primjenjuju ponaosob kod svakog pacijenta, a uspjeh u liječenju ovisi o pacijentu, primjeni adekvatne doze i trajanju terapije. To znači da isti antibiotik često neće biti propisan dvjema osobama s istim zdravstvenim problemima, jer i drugi faktori utječu na izbor antibiotske terapije - objasnio je liječnik.
Doktor Krstić apelira da se antibiotici ne uzimaju na svoju ruku, već da se u slučaju određenih zdravstvenih problema osoba javi svom izabranom liječniku koji će preporučiti daljnje dijagnostičke procedure, na osnovi kojih će se utvrditi opravdanost uzimanja antibiotika.
Naime, osim pojave otpornosti, pretjerana i nepravilna upotreba antibiotika dovodi do sve češćih nuspojava, najčešće proljeva, ali i alergijskih reakcija, pojave gljivičnih infekcija, kao i bakterijskih superinfekcija. Antibiotici nisu "pametni lijekovi" pa osim djelovanja na one loše, mogu djelovati i na takozvane "dobre" bakterije u crijevima, pa njihova upotreba može narušiti normalnu crijevnu floru, koju je potrebno sačuvati ili obnoviti upotrebom adekvatnih probiotskih preparata.

Era antibiotika započela je kad je Alexander Fleming pronašao penicilin. Njegovo otkriće predstavlja jedno od najvećih dostignuća medicine 20. stoljeća. Antibiotici su omogućili značajnom smanjenju morbiditeta i mortaliteta od bakterijskih infekcija, a mnoge fatalne bolesti postale su izlječive, čime se produžio životni vijek ljudi.
Još od pronalaska prvog antibiotika, Fleming je predviđao da će s vremenom upotreba ovih lijekova postati sve masovnija i nekritičnija, čemu upravo i svjedočimo. Ne samo u vezi s aktualnom pandemijom, već i mnogo prije toga, široka dostupnost i niska cijena dovele su do sve češćeg korištenja antibiotika, bez adekvatnog razloga i liječničke preporuke.
Iz toga se može zaključiti da je bilo neminovno da će previše antibiotika dovesti do otpornosti, odnosno rezistencije, patogenih bakterija, što je jedna od glavnih posljedica njihove nekritičke primjene.
Upravo to nas može vratiti u takozvanu "predantibiotsku eru", što bi bila veoma skupa cijena za čovječanstvo, jer predstavlja jednu od najvećih zdravstvenih prijetnji.
Doktor Miodrag Krstić, specijalist gastroenterolog i profesor na Medicinskom fakultetu u Beogradu, podsjeća da pojam "antimikrobna rezistencija" podrazumijeva otpornost bakterija na lijekove te da je to globalni problem, a ne tek problem naše regije. Iako se, kako kaže, na razini Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije poduzimaju različite mjere da se taj problem riješi, to nije nimalo lako, posebno zato što su se tijekom pandemije antibiotici često propisivali bez dokaza o bakterijskoj infekciji ili su ih pacijenti uzimali na svoju ruku.
- Bakterije su živa bića i imaju sklonost da se održe i prežive, tako da lako i brzo stječu otpornost i na najbolje antibiotike. Da bi se napravio jedan antibiotik potrebna je duga i komplicirana procedura. Trenutno je 20-30 supstanci u pretkliničkim istraživanjima da bi mogli da postanu antibiotici, i ako u sljedećih pet do deset godina samo njih pet to i uspije, mi ćemo biti sretni - istaknuo je doktor Krstić za Nova.rs.
On primjećuje da nisu samo pacijenti krivi za prekomjernu upotrebu, odnosno, zloupotrebu antibiotika.
- To je jedan multidisciplinarni problem koji obuhvaća i liječnike koji neadekvatno propisuju antibiotike, ali i veterinarsku medicinu, jer se u liječenju životinja koriste isti antibiotici koji se koriste i za liječenje ljudi. Antibiotska terapija je drugačija od drugih lijekova. Tako, na primjer, kod pacijenata s temperaturom nisu sve infekcije izazvane bakterijama, jer i virusi izazivaju infekcije, a antibiotici nisu lijekovi koji se koriste za liječenje virusnih infekcija. Također, povišena temperatura je nešto što se javlja i kod različitih imunoloških bolesti i hematoloških oboljenja, tako da nije svaka temperatura izazvana infekcijom, i nije svaka infekcija izazvana bakterijom, te neće kod svih pomoći antibiotska terapija. Antibiotici se primjenjuju ponaosob kod svakog pacijenta, a uspjeh u liječenju ovisi o pacijentu, primjeni adekvatne doze i trajanju terapije. To znači da isti antibiotik često neće biti propisan dvjema osobama s istim zdravstvenim problemima, jer i drugi faktori utječu na izbor antibiotske terapije - objasnio je liječnik.
Doktor Krstić apelira da se antibiotici ne uzimaju na svoju ruku, već da se u slučaju određenih zdravstvenih problema osoba javi svom izabranom liječniku koji će preporučiti daljnje dijagnostičke procedure, na osnovi kojih će se utvrditi opravdanost uzimanja antibiotika.
Naime, osim pojave otpornosti, pretjerana i nepravilna upotreba antibiotika dovodi do sve češćih nuspojava, najčešće proljeva, ali i alergijskih reakcija, pojave gljivičnih infekcija, kao i bakterijskih superinfekcija. Antibiotici nisu "pametni lijekovi" pa osim djelovanja na one loše, mogu djelovati i na takozvane "dobre" bakterije u crijevima, pa njihova upotreba može narušiti normalnu crijevnu floru, koju je potrebno sačuvati ili obnoviti upotrebom adekvatnih probiotskih preparata.
