Iako se kod nebodera visokih 200 metara obično očekuje da se s vremenom nagnu par centimetara u stranu, kod slučaja nebodera The Millennium Tower u San Franciscu to pomaknuće je, nažalost, puno veće. To se pokušava riješiti već nekoliko godina, no i dalje nije definirano hoće li ga srušiti ili pokušati nekako uspraviti.

Neboder koji je dobio nagrade za Structural Engineering Project of the Year i American Concrete Institution Award for Construction, tone sve dublje i dublje, doslovno i figurativno – javlja bauštela.hr prenoseći  B1M.

Potražnja za luksuznim stanovima u "Milenijskom tornju" bila je tolika da su vlasnici preprodavali svoje stanove po dva do tri puta većoj cijeni koju su prvobitno platili za njih, a penthouse se prodavao za 9,8 milijuna dolara.

Svi se neboderi tijekom svog vijeka slegnu u zemlju, a pomicanje je i planirano pri projektiranju, no 2016. godine postalo je očito da zgrada tone mnogo dublje i brže nego što se očekivalo. Što je još gore, počela se i naginjati. Naravno kako to uvijek biva, svi su odmah počeli gledati samo sebe – projektanti, arhitekti, vlasnici stanova, grad San Francisco – i odmah se počeli međusobno optuživati jer svi pretpostavljaju da popravak ovakve magnitude sigurno nije jeftin.

Zašto je neboder počeo tonuti tolikom brzinom?

Ron Hamburger, inženjer koji vodi projekt za rješavanje problema, okrivljuje građevinske radove na obližnjem gradilištu. Dok su radili na Salesforce Transit Centru, radnici su iskopali rupu od 18 metara i ispumpali milijune litara vode iz zemlje.

Prema Hamburgeru, vađenje toliko vode iz tla stvorilo je učinak koji se naziva “zbijanje tla”, zbog čega se tlo ispod tornja počelo sabijati mnogo većom brzinom od predviđene. Uz to, puno vode je ispumpano iz tla izravno ispod Millennium Towera dok se gradio, prije nego što je tlo raskopano na gradilištu Salesforce Transit Centra.

Točni detalji ostaju nejasni, ali ono što je očito jest da se tlo na kojem se nalazi neboder ne ponaša prema očekivanjima. Iako toranj ostaje useljiv i, po svemu sudeći, siguran u trenutku pisanja ovog teksta, građevina je nagnuta 60 centimetara prema zapadu i 20 centimetara prema sjeveru. Jasno je da stvar treba stabilizirati što je prije moguće.

Kako izravnati zgradu od gotovo 200 metara?

Plan ispravljanja nagiba bio je da se nadodaju 52 stupa – neka vrsta dopunskog temelja duboko u zemlji – postavljenih ispod sjevernog i južnog kraja zgrade, kroz nogostup i ispod glavnog temelja zgrade. Dosegli bi 76 metara dubine do stjenovitog sloja. Ovaje proces učvršćivanja prilično je uobičajen. Hamburger je namjeravao da ovi novi stupovi isprave 50 posto nagiba zgrade tijekom sljedećih 10 godina, izravnavajući ostatak tijekom sljedećih pola stoljeća.

Radovi na popravku su započeli u studenom 2020., no do ljeta 2021. postalo je jasno da to neće ići u potpunosti po planu. Otkriveno je da bi instalacija ovih novih stupova zapravo mogla dodatno pogoršati nagib nebodera, pridodajući daljnjih 12 centimetara nagiba na vrhu. Postoji bojazan da su rupe koje su iskopane za naknadnu ugradnju uzrokovale još veće pomicanje tla, a kasnije je otkriveno da su građevinski timovi također ostavili jedan do četiri dana razmaka između uklanjanja tla i fugiranja s ciljem smanjenja opasnosti od urušavanja tla. Hamburgeru je trebao novi plan.

Koji je slijedeći korak poravnanja nebodera?

Na ročištu u siječnju 2022. iznesena je nova shema popravljanja tornja. Ona 52 stupa iz izvornog plana bila bi zamijenjena s 18. Oni bi išli još dublje u zemlju, a budući da bi ih bilo manje, bilo bi manje urušavanja tla ispod zgrade. Ovaj novi plan je trenutačno u razmatranju i do ožujka će se vjerojatno nastaviti s popravkom, ali će to dodatno povećati trošak sa 100 milijuna dolara na 500 milijuna.

Hamburger tvrdi kako bi se Millennium Tower morao nagnuti više od 180 centimetara da ne bi mogao izdržati potres, što je daleko od sadašnjeg nagiba od 60 centimetara. Uz to, zgrada bi postala neupotrebljiva ako vodovod i liftovi prestanu raditi, a to bi se moglo dogoditi kada nagib dođe do jednog metra. Dakle, za inženjere je ovo utrka s vremenom, sa stotinama milijuna dolara u igri.

Masivne zgrade s niskom tolerancijom kvarova izgrađene su na kompaktnom tlu na mnogim mjestima diljem svijeta, i praktički niti jedna od njih ne pati od problema koji su viđeni u ovom slučaju. A činjenica da Hamburger i njegov tim inženjera čak mogu pokušati podići neboder od 197 metara svjedoči koliko je daleko stigla građevinska industrija.

Iako se kod nebodera visokih 200 metara obično očekuje da se s vremenom nagnu par centimetara u stranu, kod slučaja nebodera The Millennium Tower u San Franciscu to pomaknuće je, nažalost, puno veće. To se pokušava riješiti već nekoliko godina, no i dalje nije definirano hoće li ga srušiti ili pokušati nekako uspraviti.

Neboder koji je dobio nagrade za Structural Engineering Project of the Year i American Concrete Institution Award for Construction, tone sve dublje i dublje, doslovno i figurativno – javlja bauštela.hr prenoseći  B1M.

Potražnja za luksuznim stanovima u "Milenijskom tornju" bila je tolika da su vlasnici preprodavali svoje stanove po dva do tri puta većoj cijeni koju su prvobitno platili za njih, a penthouse se prodavao za 9,8 milijuna dolara.

Svi se neboderi tijekom svog vijeka slegnu u zemlju, a pomicanje je i planirano pri projektiranju, no 2016. godine postalo je očito da zgrada tone mnogo dublje i brže nego što se očekivalo. Što je još gore, počela se i naginjati. Naravno kako to uvijek biva, svi su odmah počeli gledati samo sebe – projektanti, arhitekti, vlasnici stanova, grad San Francisco – i odmah se počeli međusobno optuživati jer svi pretpostavljaju da popravak ovakve magnitude sigurno nije jeftin.

Zašto je neboder počeo tonuti tolikom brzinom?

Ron Hamburger, inženjer koji vodi projekt za rješavanje problema, okrivljuje građevinske radove na obližnjem gradilištu. Dok su radili na Salesforce Transit Centru, radnici su iskopali rupu od 18 metara i ispumpali milijune litara vode iz zemlje.

Prema Hamburgeru, vađenje toliko vode iz tla stvorilo je učinak koji se naziva “zbijanje tla”, zbog čega se tlo ispod tornja počelo sabijati mnogo većom brzinom od predviđene. Uz to, puno vode je ispumpano iz tla izravno ispod Millennium Towera dok se gradio, prije nego što je tlo raskopano na gradilištu Salesforce Transit Centra.

Točni detalji ostaju nejasni, ali ono što je očito jest da se tlo na kojem se nalazi neboder ne ponaša prema očekivanjima. Iako toranj ostaje useljiv i, po svemu sudeći, siguran u trenutku pisanja ovog teksta, građevina je nagnuta 60 centimetara prema zapadu i 20 centimetara prema sjeveru. Jasno je da stvar treba stabilizirati što je prije moguće.

Kako izravnati zgradu od gotovo 200 metara?

Plan ispravljanja nagiba bio je da se nadodaju 52 stupa – neka vrsta dopunskog temelja duboko u zemlji – postavljenih ispod sjevernog i južnog kraja zgrade, kroz nogostup i ispod glavnog temelja zgrade. Dosegli bi 76 metara dubine do stjenovitog sloja. Ovaje proces učvršćivanja prilično je uobičajen. Hamburger je namjeravao da ovi novi stupovi isprave 50 posto nagiba zgrade tijekom sljedećih 10 godina, izravnavajući ostatak tijekom sljedećih pola stoljeća.

Radovi na popravku su započeli u studenom 2020., no do ljeta 2021. postalo je jasno da to neće ići u potpunosti po planu. Otkriveno je da bi instalacija ovih novih stupova zapravo mogla dodatno pogoršati nagib nebodera, pridodajući daljnjih 12 centimetara nagiba na vrhu. Postoji bojazan da su rupe koje su iskopane za naknadnu ugradnju uzrokovale još veće pomicanje tla, a kasnije je otkriveno da su građevinski timovi također ostavili jedan do četiri dana razmaka između uklanjanja tla i fugiranja s ciljem smanjenja opasnosti od urušavanja tla. Hamburgeru je trebao novi plan.

Koji je slijedeći korak poravnanja nebodera?

Na ročištu u siječnju 2022. iznesena je nova shema popravljanja tornja. Ona 52 stupa iz izvornog plana bila bi zamijenjena s 18. Oni bi išli još dublje u zemlju, a budući da bi ih bilo manje, bilo bi manje urušavanja tla ispod zgrade. Ovaj novi plan je trenutačno u razmatranju i do ožujka će se vjerojatno nastaviti s popravkom, ali će to dodatno povećati trošak sa 100 milijuna dolara na 500 milijuna.

Hamburger tvrdi kako bi se Millennium Tower morao nagnuti više od 180 centimetara da ne bi mogao izdržati potres, što je daleko od sadašnjeg nagiba od 60 centimetara. Uz to, zgrada bi postala neupotrebljiva ako vodovod i liftovi prestanu raditi, a to bi se moglo dogoditi kada nagib dođe do jednog metra. Dakle, za inženjere je ovo utrka s vremenom, sa stotinama milijuna dolara u igri.

Masivne zgrade s niskom tolerancijom kvarova izgrađene su na kompaktnom tlu na mnogim mjestima diljem svijeta, i praktički niti jedna od njih ne pati od problema koji su viđeni u ovom slučaju. A činjenica da Hamburger i njegov tim inženjera čak mogu pokušati podići neboder od 197 metara svjedoči koliko je daleko stigla građevinska industrija.
