Budu li vremenske prilike idućih sati u Cape Canaveralu na Floridi povoljne, NASA-ina raketa Space Launch System (SLS) ponijet će kapsulu Orion koja će projuriti na oko 97 kilometara iznad površine Mjeseca.

Prema planu Orion će ući u orbitu oko Mjeseca, a neka bi trebao trajati 42 dana. To je tek prvi korak u sklopu NASA-ina projekta Artemis, čiji je cilj povratak Amerikanaca na Mjesec gdje su posljednji put boravili u prosincu 1972. godine, piše Jutarnji list.

Iako nema ljudsku posadu, Orion nosi testne lutke koje glume astronaute. To su zapovjednik Moonikin Campos, Helga i Zohar. Zapovjednik Campos sjedit će u pilotskom sjedalu, a nosi novo letačko odjeljenje Orion Crew Survival System. Dva senzora mjerit će ubrzanje i vibracije koje lutka doživljava. Nazvan je po Arturu Camposu (1934.-2001.), inženjeru elektrotehnike koji je sudjelovao u spašavanju astronauta tijekom misije Apollo 13 kada je došlo do eksplozije rezervoara tekućeg kisika. Podsjetimo, u akciji spašavanja važnu ulogu imao je i inženjer Mike Vucelić (1930.-2012.), rođen u Garešnici. Par Helga i Zohar, rezultat suradnje njemačke i izraelske svemirske agencije, bit će dio eksperimenta o izloženosti zračenju, prikupljajući podatke s tisuća senzora. Pritom će Zohar nositi zaštitni prsluk, a Helga neće.

U kabini će biti i Snoopy, lutka koja izgleda kao legendarni strip junak, a koristit će se kao vizualni indikator nulte gravitacije. Izbor Snoopyja nije slučajan: njegov tvorac Charles M. Schulz surađivao je od 1960- ih s NASA-om te je nacrtao mnoge ilustracije psa u svemiru i na Mjesecu. Uz Snoopyja, Orion će nositi jedan od vrhova Schulzovih olovki, omotan stripom na temu svemira te 245 srebrnih pribadača.

Europska svemirska agencija (ESA) pridonijela je letu malim kipom grčke božice Artemide (Artemis), imenjakinje svemirskog programa. U grčkoj mitologiji Artemida je bila blizanka Apolona (Apollo) i boginja Mjeseca, zvijeri lova. Kipić Artemide nakon leta bit će izložen u Muzeju Akropole u Ateni.

Izraelska svemirska agencija, NASA i Boeing napravili su vrećice sa sjemenkama drveća. Nakon leta sjeme će biti podijeljeno učiteljima i školama kako bi se iskoristilo za obrazovne svrhe

To sjeme vuče porijeklo od misije Apollo 14 koja je sletjela na Mjesec 1971. godine. Astronauti su tada trebali istražiti koji su učinci dubokog svemira na biljke. Ali posuda u kojoj su se nalazile se razbila, a sjemenke su se pomiješale. Budući da je njihov okoliš bio kontaminiran, eksperiment više nije bio održiv. Ipak, sjeme je isporučeno američkoj Šumarskoj službi, a iz njega je izraslo oko 450 mladica koje su postale poznate kao "Mjesečevo drveće".

Naposljetku, na put kreću i Kate, Kyle, Julia i Sebastian, Lego figurice koje su dizajnirane specijalno za projekt Artemis s ciljem popularizacije STEM karijera, objavio je Jutarnji list.

Budu li vremenske prilike idućih sati u Cape Canaveralu na Floridi povoljne, NASA-ina raketa Space Launch System (SLS) ponijet će kapsulu Orion koja će projuriti na oko 97 kilometara iznad površine Mjeseca.

Prema planu Orion će ući u orbitu oko Mjeseca, a neka bi trebao trajati 42 dana. To je tek prvi korak u sklopu NASA-ina projekta Artemis, čiji je cilj povratak Amerikanaca na Mjesec gdje su posljednji put boravili u prosincu 1972. godine, piše Jutarnji list.

Iako nema ljudsku posadu, Orion nosi testne lutke koje glume astronaute. To su zapovjednik Moonikin Campos, Helga i Zohar. Zapovjednik Campos sjedit će u pilotskom sjedalu, a nosi novo letačko odjeljenje Orion Crew Survival System. Dva senzora mjerit će ubrzanje i vibracije koje lutka doživljava. Nazvan je po Arturu Camposu (1934.-2001.), inženjeru elektrotehnike koji je sudjelovao u spašavanju astronauta tijekom misije Apollo 13 kada je došlo do eksplozije rezervoara tekućeg kisika. Podsjetimo, u akciji spašavanja važnu ulogu imao je i inženjer Mike Vucelić (1930.-2012.), rođen u Garešnici. Par Helga i Zohar, rezultat suradnje njemačke i izraelske svemirske agencije, bit će dio eksperimenta o izloženosti zračenju, prikupljajući podatke s tisuća senzora. Pritom će Zohar nositi zaštitni prsluk, a Helga neće.

U kabini će biti i Snoopy, lutka koja izgleda kao legendarni strip junak, a koristit će se kao vizualni indikator nulte gravitacije. Izbor Snoopyja nije slučajan: njegov tvorac Charles M. Schulz surađivao je od 1960- ih s NASA-om te je nacrtao mnoge ilustracije psa u svemiru i na Mjesecu. Uz Snoopyja, Orion će nositi jedan od vrhova Schulzovih olovki, omotan stripom na temu svemira te 245 srebrnih pribadača.

Europska svemirska agencija (ESA) pridonijela je letu malim kipom grčke božice Artemide (Artemis), imenjakinje svemirskog programa. U grčkoj mitologiji Artemida je bila blizanka Apolona (Apollo) i boginja Mjeseca, zvijeri lova. Kipić Artemide nakon leta bit će izložen u Muzeju Akropole u Ateni.

Izraelska svemirska agencija, NASA i Boeing napravili su vrećice sa sjemenkama drveća. Nakon leta sjeme će biti podijeljeno učiteljima i školama kako bi se iskoristilo za obrazovne svrhe

To sjeme vuče porijeklo od misije Apollo 14 koja je sletjela na Mjesec 1971. godine. Astronauti su tada trebali istražiti koji su učinci dubokog svemira na biljke. Ali posuda u kojoj su se nalazile se razbila, a sjemenke su se pomiješale. Budući da je njihov okoliš bio kontaminiran, eksperiment više nije bio održiv. Ipak, sjeme je isporučeno američkoj Šumarskoj službi, a iz njega je izraslo oko 450 mladica koje su postale poznate kao "Mjesečevo drveće".

Naposljetku, na put kreću i Kate, Kyle, Julia i Sebastian, Lego figurice koje su dizajnirane specijalno za projekt Artemis s ciljem popularizacije STEM karijera, objavio je Jutarnji list.

NASA u svemir šalje Snoopya, a ne ljudsku posadu! Evo i zašto

Budu li vremenske prilike idućih sati u Cape Canaveralu na Floridi povoljne, NASA-ina raketa Space Launch System (SLS) ponijet će kapsulu Orion koja će projuriti na oko 97 kilometara iznad površine Mjeseca.

Prema planu Orion će ući u orbitu oko Mjeseca, a neka bi trebao trajati 42 dana. To je tek prvi korak u sklopu NASA-ina projekta Artemis, čiji je cilj povratak Amerikanaca na Mjesec gdje su posljednji put boravili u prosincu 1972. godine, piše Jutarnji list.

Iako nema ljudsku posadu, Orion nosi testne lutke koje glume astronaute. To su zapovjednik Moonikin Campos, Helga i Zohar. Zapovjednik Campos sjedit će u pilotskom sjedalu, a nosi novo letačko odjeljenje Orion Crew Survival System. Dva senzora mjerit će ubrzanje i vibracije koje lutka doživljava. Nazvan je po Arturu Camposu...
