Službeni Washington i sjedište NATO-a u Bruxellesu reagirali su na smjenu generala Valerija Zalužnog s mjesta vrhovnog zapovjednika ukrajinskih oružanih snaga.

Njega će zamijeniti dosadašnji komandant kopnenih snaga Olexandr Sirski. Ukrajinski predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski predložio je Zalužniju da i dalje bude dio napora Ukrajine da porazi rusku vojsku.

Savjetnik američkog predsjednika za nacionalnu sigurnost Jake Sullivan ustvrdio je kako je izabrani vođa zemlje taj koji odlučuje tko će imati najviše položaje unutar vojnog zapovjedništva. Kazao je da će Sjedinjene Američke Države nastaviti podržavati ukrajinsku vladu i ukrajinsku vojsku.

Glavni tajnik NATO-a Jens Stoltenberg rekao je da nije na NATO-u da "ima mišljenje o ovom pitanju". No, dodao je kako pozdravlja izjavu ukrajinskog ministra vanjskih poslova Dimitrija Kulebe po kojemu bilo kakve promjene u hijerarhiji u Ukrajini neće utjecati na njezine odnose s partnerima i NATO-om. "Dakle, nastavit ćemo podržavati - i to je najvažnije", izjavio je Stoltenberg.

Nagađanja o skoroj smjeni Zalužnog kruže već duže vrijeme, a prošle sedmice anonimni izvori u Washingtonu potvrdili su brojnim vodećim medijima da je predsjednik Zelenski obavijestio SAD o svojoj odluci da smijeni vrhovnog komandanta vojske.

Izvori su također naglasili da Sjedinjene Američke Države nisu izrazile primjedbe niti podršku ovoj odluci, budući da smatraju da je to suvereno pravo ukrajinskog predsjednika.

Prema zapadnim medijima, Zelenski je prošlog tjedna predložio Zalužnom da podnese ostavku, ali je general to odbio.

Prema pisanju agencije AP, spor između Zelenskog i Zalužnog izbio je prošle jeseni, kada je komandant u intervjuu za britanski tjednik The Economist priznao da su borbe u Ukrajini u zastoju. Međutim, Zelenski je zanijekao da je ovaj intervju bio predmet spora.

U prvim danima ruske invazije, u veljači 2022. godine, general Zalužni odigrao je značajnu ulogu u obrani Kijeva i ponovnom preuzimanju teritorija na istoku i jugu Ukrajine.

Stanovništvo ga doživljava kao ratnog heroja, a prema ispitivanjima javnog mnijenja popularniji je od predsjednika Zelenskog.

Službeni Washington i sjedište NATO-a u Bruxellesu reagirali su na smjenu generala Valerija Zalužnog s mjesta vrhovnog zapovjednika ukrajinskih oružanih snaga.

Njega će zamijeniti dosadašnji komandant kopnenih snaga Olexandr Sirski. Ukrajinski predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski predložio je Zalužniju da i dalje bude dio napora Ukrajine da porazi rusku vojsku.

Savjetnik američkog predsjednika za nacionalnu sigurnost Jake Sullivan ustvrdio je kako je izabrani vođa zemlje taj koji odlučuje tko će imati najviše položaje unutar vojnog zapovjedništva. Kazao je da će Sjedinjene Američke Države nastaviti podržavati ukrajinsku vladu i ukrajinsku vojsku.

Glavni tajnik NATO-a Jens Stoltenberg rekao je da nije na NATO-u da "ima mišljenje o ovom pitanju". No, dodao je kako pozdravlja izjavu ukrajinskog ministra vanjskih poslova Dimitrija Kulebe po kojemu bilo kakve promjene u hijerarhiji u Ukrajini neće utjecati na njezine odnose s partnerima i NATO-om. "Dakle, nastavit ćemo podržavati - i to je najvažnije", izjavio je Stoltenberg.

Nagađanja o skoroj smjeni Zalužnog kruže već duže vrijeme, a prošle sedmice anonimni izvori u Washingtonu potvrdili su brojnim vodećim medijima da je predsjednik Zelenski obavijestio SAD o svojoj odluci da smijeni vrhovnog komandanta vojske.

Izvori su također naglasili da Sjedinjene Američke Države nisu izrazile primjedbe niti podršku ovoj odluci, budući da smatraju da je to suvereno pravo ukrajinskog predsjednika.

Prema zapadnim medijima, Zelenski je prošlog tjedna predložio Zalužnom da podnese ostavku, ali je general to odbio.

Prema pisanju agencije AP, spor između Zelenskog i Zalužnog izbio je prošle jeseni, kada je komandant u intervjuu za britanski tjednik The Economist priznao da su borbe u Ukrajini u zastoju. Međutim, Zelenski je zanijekao da je ovaj intervju bio predmet spora.

U prvim danima ruske invazije, u veljači 2022. godine, general Zalužni odigrao je značajnu ulogu u obrani Kijeva i ponovnom preuzimanju teritorija na istoku i jugu Ukrajine.

Stanovništvo ga doživljava kao ratnog heroja, a prema ispitivanjima javnog mnijenja popularniji je od predsjednika Zelenskog.

Službeni Washington i sjedište NATO-a u Bruxellesu reagirali su na smjenu generala Valerija Zalužnog s mjesta vrhovnog zapovjednika ukrajinskih oružanih snaga.

Njega će zamijeniti dosadašnji komandant kopnenih snaga Olexandr Sirski. Ukrajinski predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski predložio je Zalužniju da i dalje bude dio napora Ukrajine da porazi rusku vojsku.
