Štakori koji se prodaju na tržnicama i u restoranima u jugoistočnoj Aziji nosioci su brojnih koronavirusa, pokazalo je istraživanje. Broj pozitivnih uzoraka povećao se pošto su divlje životinje prešle "s polja na tanjur", što upućuje na to da su usput 'pokupile' i neki virus.

Premda se otkriveni sojevi razlikuju od onih kod covida-19 i ne smatraju se opasnima za ljude, znanstvenici već dulje vrijeme upozoravaju da bi upravo divlje životinje mogle biti glavni inkubatori zaraze, piše BBC.

Miješanje različitih koronavirusa i očigledno povećanje njihova broja u lancu opskrbe na putu prema restoranima, ukazuje na to "za konzumente postoji velik rizik" od zaraze, pokazala je studija američkih i vijetnamskih znanstvenika, koja tek treba proći recenziju. Mnogi vjeruju da je ishodište aktualne pandemije upravo trgovina divljim životinjama, da se bolest javila najprije među šišmišima te se s njih prenijela na ljude preko, zasad još uvijek neidentificiranih, drugih životinjskih vrsta.

Novi preliminarni rezultati odnose se na štakore, no mogu se primijeniti i na druge divlje životinjske vrste, poput pangolina i cibetki koji se love, transportiraju i drže u kavezima na putu do tržnica i restorana.

Uvid u širenje virusa

"I premda se ne radi o opasnim virusima, oni nam daju uvid u to na koji se način uspijevaju proširiti u ovakvim okolnostima", rekla je Sarah Olson iz njujorške grupe za očuvanje vrsta WCS, koja je radila na istraživanju s kolegama iz Vijetnama.

Znanstvenica Amanda Fine, iz iste grupe pojašnjava: "Lanci opskrbe divljim životinjama i uvjeti u kojima te životinje borave za vrijeme transporta, imaju velik utjecaj na pojačanu rasprostranjenost koronavirusa."

Štakori su popularno jelo u Vijetnamu, a love ih na rižinim poljima, odakle ih transportiraju do tržnica i restorana, gdje ih kolju zbog svježeg mesa. Glodavci se uzgajaju i na farmama zajedno s ostalim životinjama, poput primjerice, divokoza.

Opasni lanci opskrbe 

U uzorcima prikupljenim tijekom 2013. i 2014. godine na 70 lokacija u Vijetnamu otkriveno je šest poznatih sojeva koronavirusa. Visok postotak pozitivnih uzoraka otkriven je među poljskim štakorima koji su namijenjeni ljudskoj prehrani.

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da je omjer pozitivnih uzoraka značajno porastao tijekom lanca opskrbe: farme - 6 posto, trgovci i prodavači - 21 posto, veletržnice - 32 posto, restorani - 56 posto.

Postotak pozitivih uzoraka među glodavcima u njihovu prirodnom staništu iznosi između 0 i 2 posto, ističu znanstvenici.

Studija je provedena u suradnji sa stručnjacima za zdravlje životinja iz Vijetnama, koji razmatraju mogućnost zabrane trgovine i konzumacije divljih životinja. Rezultati istraživanja objavljeni su u časopisu bioRxiv i još čekaju recenziju. 

Stručnjaci koji se bore za očuvanje životinjskih vrsta ističu da pandemija koronavirusa predstavlja prekretnicu kada je posrijedi smanjenje opsega trgovine divljim životinjama.

Tržnice - tempirane bombe za izbijanje epidemije

Upozoravaju da tržnice i veletržnice mogu biti poput "tempiranih bombi za izbijanje epidemije", jer se ondje dovozi velik broj različitih divljih vrsta koje neko vrijeme borave na istome mjestu. 

Kineske vlasti zabranile su uzgoj i konzumiranje živih divljih životinja u jeku izbijanja pandemije, no još uvijek postoje izuzeci, poput trgovine divljim životinjama zbog medicinskih istraživanja i kada se radi o kućnim ljubimcima. 

Sa službenog popisa životinja čije se ljuske koriste u tradicionalnih medicini Kina je uklonila pangoline. Zaštićeni status ovih životinja ta je zemlja podigla na najvišu razinu, što ih svrstava u istu klasu zaštite poput panda.

Štakori koji se prodaju na tržnicama i u restoranima u jugoistočnoj Aziji nosioci su brojnih koronavirusa, pokazalo je istraživanje. Broj pozitivnih uzoraka povećao se pošto su divlje životinje prešle "s polja na tanjur", što upućuje na to da su usput 'pokupile' i neki virus.

Premda se otkriveni sojevi razlikuju od onih kod covida-19 i ne smatraju se opasnima za ljude, znanstvenici već dulje vrijeme upozoravaju da bi upravo divlje životinje mogle biti glavni inkubatori zaraze, piše BBC.

Miješanje različitih koronavirusa i očigledno povećanje njihova broja u lancu opskrbe na putu prema restoranima, ukazuje na to "za konzumente postoji velik rizik" od zaraze, pokazala je studija američkih i vijetnamskih znanstvenika, koja tek treba proći recenziju. Mnogi vjeruju da je ishodište aktualne pandemije upravo trgovina divljim životinjama, da se bolest javila najprije među šišmišima te se s njih prenijela na ljude preko, zasad još uvijek neidentificiranih, drugih životinjskih vrsta.

Novi preliminarni rezultati odnose se na štakore, no mogu se primijeniti i na druge divlje životinjske vrste, poput pangolina i cibetki koji se love, transportiraju i drže u kavezima na putu do tržnica i restorana.

Uvid u širenje virusa

"I premda se ne radi o opasnim virusima, oni nam daju uvid u to na koji se način uspijevaju proširiti u ovakvim okolnostima", rekla je Sarah Olson iz njujorške grupe za očuvanje vrsta WCS, koja je radila na istraživanju s kolegama iz Vijetnama.

Znanstvenica Amanda Fine, iz iste grupe pojašnjava: "Lanci opskrbe divljim životinjama i uvjeti u kojima te životinje borave za vrijeme transporta, imaju velik utjecaj na pojačanu rasprostranjenost koronavirusa."

Štakori su popularno jelo u Vijetnamu, a love ih na rižinim poljima, odakle ih transportiraju do tržnica i restorana, gdje ih kolju zbog svježeg mesa. Glodavci se uzgajaju i na farmama zajedno s ostalim životinjama, poput primjerice, divokoza.

Opasni lanci opskrbe 

U uzorcima prikupljenim tijekom 2013. i 2014. godine na 70 lokacija u Vijetnamu otkriveno je šest poznatih sojeva koronavirusa. Visok postotak pozitivnih uzoraka otkriven je među poljskim štakorima koji su namijenjeni ljudskoj prehrani.

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da je omjer pozitivnih uzoraka značajno porastao tijekom lanca opskrbe: farme - 6 posto, trgovci i prodavači - 21 posto, veletržnice - 32 posto, restorani - 56 posto.

Postotak pozitivih uzoraka među glodavcima u njihovu prirodnom staništu iznosi između 0 i 2 posto, ističu znanstvenici.

Studija je provedena u suradnji sa stručnjacima za zdravlje životinja iz Vijetnama, koji razmatraju mogućnost zabrane trgovine i konzumacije divljih životinja. Rezultati istraživanja objavljeni su u časopisu bioRxiv i još čekaju recenziju. 

Stručnjaci koji se bore za očuvanje životinjskih vrsta ističu da pandemija koronavirusa predstavlja prekretnicu kada je posrijedi smanjenje opsega trgovine divljim životinjama.

Tržnice - tempirane bombe za izbijanje epidemije

Upozoravaju da tržnice i veletržnice mogu biti poput "tempiranih bombi za izbijanje epidemije", jer se ondje dovozi velik broj različitih divljih vrsta koje neko vrijeme borave na istome mjestu. 

Kineske vlasti zabranile su uzgoj i konzumiranje živih divljih životinja u jeku izbijanja pandemije, no još uvijek postoje izuzeci, poput trgovine divljim životinjama zbog medicinskih istraživanja i kada se radi o kućnim ljubimcima. 

Sa službenog popisa životinja čije se ljuske koriste u tradicionalnih medicini Kina je uklonila pangoline. Zaštićeni status ovih životinja ta je zemlja podigla na najvišu razinu, što ih svrstava u istu klasu zaštite poput panda.

Novi dokazi o prijenosu koronavirusa preko divljih životinja, znanstvenici upozoravaju da tržnice mogu biti tempirane bombe za izbijanje epidemije

Štakori koji se prodaju na tržnicama i u restoranima u jugoistočnoj Aziji nosioci su brojnih koronavirusa, pokazalo je istraživanje. Broj pozitivnih uzoraka povećao se pošto su divlje životinje prešle "s polja na tanjur", što upućuje na to da su usput 'pokupile' i neki virus.

Premda se otkriveni sojevi razlikuju od onih kod covida-19 i ne smatraju se opasnima za ljude, znanstvenici već dulje vrijeme upozoravaju da bi upravo divlje životinje mogle biti glavni inkubatori zaraze, piše BBC.

Miješanje različitih koronavirusa i očigledno povećanje njihova broja u lancu opskrbe na putu prema restoranima, ukazuje na to "za konzumente postoji velik rizik" od zaraze, pokazala je studija američkih i vijetnamskih znanstvenika, koja tek treba proći recenziju. Mnogi vjeruju da je ish...
