Među taocima, koje je Hamas tijekom napada 7. listopada uzeo iz kibuca Nir Oz, vjerojatno je i 75-godišnji Alex Dancyg, svjetski autoritet za povijest holokausta. Kako prenosi CNN, njegov sin tvrdi kako umirovljenik ima ozbiljno srčano oboljenje i pozvao je države diljem svijeta da izvrše pritisak na Hamas da oslobodi izraelske taoce - piše Jutarnji list.
- Zabrinut sam za očevo zdravlje jer nema lijekova. Pitam se u kakvim ga uvjetima drže i to me jako uznemirava. Sve ovo je prestrašno. Možda je u ovoj situaciji bolje biti mrtav - izjavio je Matty Dancyg (46).
Terorističke napade i uzimanje talaca od strane militantne skupine Hamas nazvao je "vrlo velikim neuspjehom" za izraelsku vladu i vojsku, rekavši kako se to "nikad nije smjelo dogoditi".

- Jedini način da zaustavimo ovu užasnu situaciju jest da izvršimo pritisak izvana, to nam je očito jedini spas. Nemam ni nade ni povjerenja u izraelsku vladu. Nadam se da će zemlje slobodnoga svijeta izvršiti dovoljan pritisak na Hamas da vrati taoce - dodao je.
Oteti Alex Dancyg rođen je 1948. godine u Poljskoj, u obitelji koja je preživjela holokaust. Dancyg je svoj život posvetio povijesti poljskih Židova.
- On je jedan od najvećih stručnjaka u tom području. Ima tisuće učenika diljem Izraela i Poljske - rekao je njegov sin Matty, koji je sa suprugom i tri kćeri nakon Hamasova napada osam sati čekao da stignu Izraelske obrambene snage i pomognu im.
- To je bilo zastrašujuće. Skrivali smo se dok su Hamasovci išli od kuće do kuće, nije bilo nikoga tko bi ih mogao zaustaviti, nije bilo nikoga tko bi nas zaštitio... Gledao sam svoje kćeri i mislio kako je to zadnji trenutak da ih vidim, kao da se dio holokausta vratio iz prošlosti i ponovno nas udario - ispričao je Matty.
Iako je otmičare svoga oca opisao kao "čudovišta", ne vjeruje da su obični Palestinci krivi za ovaj sukob.
- Nisu svi Palestinci teroristi. To su obični ljudi koji samo žele živjeti, a postali su taoci ove terorističke organizacije. Mislim da bi trebali dobiti humanitarnu pomoć, i oni i taoci. To je vrlo komplicirana situacija - zaključio je.

- Jedini način da zaustavimo ovu užasnu situaciju jest da izvršimo pritisak izvana, to nam je očito jedini spas. Nemam ni nade ni povjerenja u izraelsku vladu. Nadam se da će zemlje slobodnoga svijeta izvršiti dovoljan pritisak na Hamas da vrati taoce - dodao je.
Oteti Alex Dancyg rođen je 1948. godine u Poljskoj, u obitelji koja je preživjela holokaust. Dancyg je svoj život posvetio povijesti poljskih Židova.
- On je jedan od najvećih stručnjaka u tom području. Ima tisuće učenika diljem Izraela i Poljske - rekao je njegov sin Matty, koji je sa suprugom i tri kćeri nakon Hamasova napada osam sati čekao da stignu Izraelske obrambene snage i pomognu im.
- To je bilo zastrašujuće. Skrivali smo se dok su Hamasovci išli od kuće do kuće, nije bilo nikoga tko bi ih mogao zaustaviti, nije bilo nikoga tko bi nas zaštitio... Gledao sam svoje kćeri i mislio kako je to zadnji trenutak da ih vidim, kao da se dio holokausta vratio iz prošlosti i ponovno nas udario - ispričao je Matty.
Iako je otmičare svoga oca opisao kao "čudovišta", ne vjeruje da su obični Palestinci krivi za ovaj sukob.
- Nisu svi Palestinci teroristi. To su obični ljudi koji samo žele živjeti, a postali su taoci ove terorističke organizacije. Mislim da bi trebali dobiti humanitarnu pomoć, i oni i taoci. To je vrlo komplicirana situacija - zaključio je.
