Tri godine prije smrtonosnog urušavanja stambene zgrade na jugu Floride stručni konzultant je upozorio da postoje dokazi "velikog strukturnog oštećenja" betonske deke ispod bazenske platforme te velike pukotine i osipanje betona u podzemnoj garaži, izvijestio je u subotu The New York Times.
Velik dio dvanaesterokatnice u predgrađu Miamija Surfisedu urušio se iznenada rano ujutro u četvrtak dok su stanari spavali. Uzrok nesreće još nije poznat.
Potvrđeno je da je poginulo četvero ljudi, a za 159 se još ne zna gdje su. Potraga za njima još traje.
The Times navodi da je konzultant, inženjer Frank Morabito, u izvješću od listopada 2018. upozorio na probleme, na osnovi čega je izrađen projekt sanacije čija je provedba trebala započeti uskoro, više od dvije i pol godine nakon što su upravitelji zgrade upozoreni.
Upravitelj zgrade objavio je dio tih problema nakon nesreće.
No dužnosnici Surfsidea u petak su objavili Morabitovo izvješće koje je otkrilo pune razmjere štete na betonu i armaturi, navodi list.
Većinu oštećenja uzrokovala je vjerojatno višegodišnja izloženost korozivnom slanom zraku na obali južne Floride.
Morabito u izvješću nije iznio nikakve naznake da bi se zgrada mogla srušiti, ali je istaknuo da su potrebni popravci kako bi se "sačuvao strukturni integritet" zgrade i njenih 136 stanova.
"Premda je dio oštećenja manji, većinu oštećenja betona mora se popraviti u primjerenom roku", napisao je Morabito o oštećenjima u blizini temelja zgrade stare 40 godina, prenosi list.
List citira Kennetha S. Direktora, odvjetnika koji zastupa upravitelja zgrade, koji je ovaj tjedan kazao da je sanacija zgrade trebala započeti uskoro, na osnovi projekta izrađenog ove godine.
On je naglasio da bi se proces sanacije zgrade vodio drugačije da su vlasnici znali da korozija i osipanje betona, koji su u blagom obliku relativno česti u mnogim priobalnim zgradama, predstavljaju ozbiljnu prijetnju.

Tri godine prije smrtonosnog urušavanja stambene zgrade na jugu Floride stručni konzultant je upozorio da postoje dokazi "velikog strukturnog oštećenja" betonske deke ispod bazenske platforme te velike pukotine i osipanje betona u podzemnoj garaži, izvijestio je u subotu The New York Times.
Velik dio dvanaesterokatnice u predgrađu Miamija Surfisedu urušio se iznenada rano ujutro u četvrtak dok su stanari spavali. Uzrok nesreće još nije poznat.
Potvrđeno je da je poginulo četvero ljudi, a za 159 se još ne zna gdje su. Potraga za njima još traje.
The Times navodi da je konzultant, inženjer Frank Morabito, u izvješću od listopada 2018. upozorio na probleme, na osnovi čega je izrađen projekt sanacije čija je provedba trebala započeti uskoro, više od dvije i pol godine nakon što su upravitelji zgrade upozoreni.
Upravitelj zgrade objavio je dio tih problema nakon nesreće.
No dužnosnici Surfsidea u petak su objavili Morabitovo izvješće koje je otkrilo pune razmjere štete na betonu i armaturi, navodi list.
Većinu oštećenja uzrokovala je vjerojatno višegodišnja izloženost korozivnom slanom zraku na obali južne Floride.
Morabito u izvješću nije iznio nikakve naznake da bi se zgrada mogla srušiti, ali je istaknuo da su potrebni popravci kako bi se "sačuvao strukturni integritet" zgrade i njenih 136 stanova.
"Premda je dio oštećenja manji, većinu oštećenja betona mora se popraviti u primjerenom roku", napisao je Morabito o oštećenjima u blizini temelja zgrade stare 40 godina, prenosi list.
List citira Kennetha S. Direktora, odvjetnika koji zastupa upravitelja zgrade, koji je ovaj tjedan kazao da je sanacija zgrade trebala započeti uskoro, na osnovi projekta izrađenog ove godine.
On je naglasio da bi se proces sanacije zgrade vodio drugačije da su vlasnici znali da korozija i osipanje betona, koji su u blagom obliku relativno česti u mnogim priobalnim zgradama, predstavljaju ozbiljnu prijetnju.
