Vršitelj dužnosti predsjednika Šri Lanke Ranil Wickremesinghe proglasio je izvanredno stanje u zemlji, navodi se u vladinoj obavijesti objavljenoj kasno u nedjelju, dok njegova administracija nastoji ugušiti socijalne nemire nastale uslijed gospodarske krize.

"To je svrhovito, u interesu javne sigurnosti, zaštite javnog reda i održavanja opskrbe i usluga bitnih za život zajednice", stoji u obavijesti.

Wickremesinghe je u srijedu s mjesta premijera imenovan vršiteljem dužnosti predsjednika, dok parlament ne izabere novog šefa države.

Imenovan je nakon što je prošli tjedan iz zemlje pred pobunom naroda, izazvanom najgorom ekonomskom krizom u posljednjih sedam desetljeća, pobjegao predsjednik Gotayabe Rajapaksa.

Parlament je u petak i službeno prihvatio Rajapaksinu ostavku, a u subotu je započeo proces izbora novog predsjednika.

Wickremesinghe, saveznik Rajapakse, jedan je od glavnih kandidata za stalno preuzimanje predsjedničke funkcije, ali prosvjednici također žele da on ode, što otvara mogućnost daljnjih nemira ako bude izabran.

Ulični prosvjedi protiv ekonomske krize na Šri Lanki tinjali su mjesecima, a vrhunac je bio prošlog vikenda kada su stotine tisuća ljudi preuzele vladine zgrade u Colombu. Optužili su obitelj Rajapaksa i saveznike za nevjerojatnu inflaciju, nestašicu osnovnih dobara i korupciju.

Vršitelj dužnosti predsjednika Šri Lanke Ranil Wickremesinghe proglasio je izvanredno stanje u zemlji, navodi se u vladinoj obavijesti objavljenoj kasno u nedjelju, dok njegova administracija nastoji ugušiti socijalne nemire nastale uslijed gospodarske krize.

"To je svrhovito, u interesu javne sigurnosti, zaštite javnog reda i održavanja opskrbe i usluga bitnih za život zajednice", stoji u obavijesti.

Wickremesinghe je u srijedu s mjesta premijera imenovan vršiteljem dužnosti predsjednika, dok parlament ne izabere novog šefa države.

Imenovan je nakon što je prošli tjedan iz zemlje pred pobunom naroda, izazvanom najgorom ekonomskom krizom u posljednjih sedam desetljeća, pobjegao predsjednik Gotayabe Rajapaksa.

Parlament je u petak i službeno prihvatio Rajapaksinu ostavku, a u subotu je započeo proces izbora novog predsjednika.

Wickremesinghe, saveznik Rajapakse, jedan je od glavnih kandidata za stalno preuzimanje predsjedničke funkcije, ali prosvjednici također žele da on ode, što otvara mogućnost daljnjih nemira ako bude izabran.

Ulični prosvjedi protiv ekonomske krize na Šri Lanki tinjali su mjesecima, a vrhunac je bio prošlog vikenda kada su stotine tisuća ljudi preuzele vladine zgrade u Colombu. Optužili su obitelj Rajapaksa i saveznike za nevjerojatnu inflaciju, nestašicu osnovnih dobara i korupciju.

U Šri Lanki proglašeno izvanredno stanje, vlast strahuje od novih nemira

Vršitelj dužnosti predsjednika Šri Lanke Ranil Wickremesinghe proglasio je izvanredno stanje u zemlji, navodi se u vladinoj obavijesti objavljenoj kasno u nedjelju, dok njegova administracija nastoji ugušiti socijalne nemire nastale uslijed gospodarske krize.

"To je svrhovito, u interesu javne sigurnosti, zaštite javnog reda i održavanja opskrbe i usluga bitnih za život zajednice", stoji u obavijesti.

Wickremesinghe je u srijedu s mjesta premijera imenovan vršiteljem dužnosti predsjednika, dok parlament ne izabere novog šefa države.

Imenovan je nakon što je prošli tjedan iz zemlje pred pobunom naroda, izazvanom najgorom ekonomskom krizom u posljednjih sedam desetljeća, pobjegao predsjednik Gotayabe Rajapaksa.

Parlament je u petak i službeno prihvatio Rajapaksinu ostavku, ...
