Na sam današnji dan Kristalne noći, kad se 1938. u Austriji i Njemačkoj dogodio masovni nacistički pogrom Židova uz paljenje njihove imovine i bogomolja, u Izraelu je ugledni njemački Goethe institut u suradnji s fundacijom Rosa Luxemburg njemačke političke stranke ‘Die Linke‘ (Ljevica) u zajedničkoj raspravi kanio objediniti sjećanje na Holokaust i sjećanje na Nakbu, sinonim arapskoga progona nakon izraelskoga rata za neovisnost.

Izbio je golemi javni skandal, s oštrim prosvjednim notama izraelskog ministarstva vanjskih poslova njemačkoj vladi. Izraelska diplomacija je čin nazvala "očiglednim nastojanjem da se bagatelizira holokaust i ciničnom manipulacijom čija je svrha klevetanje Izraela". Reagirao je i predsjednik Yad Vashema Dani Dayan, te događaj ocijenio "nepodnošljivim iskrivljavanjem holokausta i povijesti". Goethe institut premjestio je nakon reakcija planirani događaj na drugi manje iritantan datum, ali nije povukao njegovo održavanje, niti se osvrnuo na kritiku jednakosti povučene između Holokausta i Nakbe.

"Gotovo 75 godina nakon uspostave države Izrael, sjećanje je i dalje politički kontroverzno područje", naveo je Goethe institut u najavi događaja na svojoj web stranici. "Židovi se fokusiraju na holokaust, dok se Palestinci fokusiraju na sudbonosnu 1948. godinu, kad su stotine tisuća njih postali žrtve progona i deportacije, što nazivaju ‘Nakba‘ (katastrofa)."
Na panelu koji je kanio osvijestiti empatičan pogled na žrtvu druge strane, naslanjajući se na knjigu Charlotte Wiedemann ‘Uhvatiti bol drugih‘, trebali su sudjelovati autorica, profesor političke teorije u Izraelu Bašir Bašir, profesor povijesti holokausta na Hebrejskom sveučilištu u Jeruzalemu Amos Goldberg i Inge Gunther, novinarka koja se desetljećima bavi izraelsko-palestinskim pitanjima. Nakon burnih reakcija sve je odgođeno, ali samo do nedjelje.

U Tel Avivu se ogorčenje time nije stišalo. Cionistički pokret Im Tirzu najavio je da će večeras održati prosvjed protiv događaja ispred Goethe Instituta, a šef pokreta Matan Peleg je, prema Jerusalem Postu, izjavio: "Umjesto da pognu glave pred židovskim narodom i čovječanstvom u cjelini zbog onoga što su činili njihovi preci, zaklade njemačke vlade promiču propagandu koja nastoji zataškati njemačke zločine njegujući anti-izraelske mitove koji nam žele uskratiti i državu i pravo na postojanje. Cionisti traže od vlade da hitno ograniči uplitanje njemačkih stranaka u Izrael, „jer su prešle granicu drskosti".

I centar Simona Wiesenthala izrazio je bijes zbog događaja, a rabin Abraham Cooper kazao je kako je vrijedno prezira da bilo koji Nijemac izgovori riječi ‘Shoah‘ i ‘Nakba‘ u istome dahu. “Sazivanje takve rasprave u Izraelu na godišnjicu Kristalne noći – pa i od lijeve njemačke političke stranke na uglednom Goethe Institutu – nije ništa doli grozna provokacija“ – poručuju iz centra Simon Wiesenthal. I Savez organizacija preživjelih u holokaustu objavio je kako je "nečuveno da institut čiji je cilj širenje njemačke kulture odlučuje u Izraelu organizirati događaj koji uspoređuje holokaust i Nakbu, i to na dan kad se obilježava 84 godine od Kristalne noći."

Izbio je golemi javni skandal, s oštrim prosvjednim notama izraelskog ministarstva vanjskih poslova njemačkoj vladi. Izraelska diplomacija je čin nazvala "očiglednim nastojanjem da se bagatelizira holokaust i ciničnom manipulacijom čija je svrha klevetanje Izraela". Reagirao je i predsjednik Yad Vashema Dani Dayan, te događaj ocijenio "nepodnošljivim iskrivljavanjem holokausta i povijesti". Goethe institut premjestio je nakon reakcija planirani događaj na drugi manje iritantan datum, ali nije povukao njegovo održavanje, niti se osvrnuo na kritiku jednakosti povučene između Holokausta i Nakbe.

"Gotovo 75 godina nakon uspostave države Izrael, sjećanje je i dalje politički kontroverzno područje", naveo je Goethe institut u najavi događaja na svojoj web stranici. "Židovi se fokusiraju na holokaust, dok se Palestinci fokusiraju na sudbonosnu 1948. godinu, kad su stotine tisuća njih postali žrtve progona i deportacije, što nazivaju ‘Nakba‘ (katastrofa)."
Na panelu koji je kanio osvijestiti empatičan pogled na žrtvu druge strane, naslanjajući se na knjigu Charlotte Wiedemann ‘Uhvatiti bol drugih‘, trebali su sudjelovati autorica, profesor političke teorije u Izraelu Bašir Bašir, profesor povijesti holokausta na Hebrejskom sveučilištu u Jeruzalemu Amos Goldberg i Inge Gunther, novinarka koja se desetljećima bavi izraelsko-palestinskim pitanjima. Nakon burnih reakcija sve je odgođeno, ali samo do nedjelje.

U Tel Avivu se ogorčenje time nije stišalo. Cionistički pokret Im Tirzu najavio je da će večeras održati prosvjed protiv događaja ispred Goethe Instituta, a šef pokreta Matan Peleg je, prema Jerusalem Postu, izjavio: "Umjesto da pognu glave pred židovskim narodom i čovječanstvom u cjelini zbog onoga što su činili njihovi preci, zaklade njemačke vlade promiču propagandu koja nastoji zataškati njemačke zločine njegujući anti-izraelske mitove koji nam žele uskratiti i državu i pravo na postojanje. Cionisti traže od vlade da hitno ograniči uplitanje njemačkih stranaka u Izrael, „jer su prešle granicu drskosti".

I centar Simona Wiesenthala izrazio je bijes zbog događaja, a rabin Abraham Cooper kazao je kako je vrijedno prezira da bilo koji Nijemac izgovori riječi ‘Shoah‘ i ‘Nakba‘ u istome dahu. “Sazivanje takve rasprave u Izraelu na godišnjicu Kristalne noći – pa i od lijeve njemačke političke stranke na uglednom Goethe Institutu – nije ništa doli grozna provokacija“ – poručuju iz centra Simon Wiesenthal. I Savez organizacija preživjelih u holokaustu objavio je kako je "nečuveno da institut čiji je cilj širenje njemačke kulture odlučuje u Izraelu organizirati događaj koji uspoređuje holokaust i Nakbu, i to na dan kad se obilježava 84 godine od Kristalne noći."
