Vojni čelnik Mjanmara, general Min Aung Hlaing, u ponedjeljak je obećao slobodne izbore nakon isteka izvanrednog stanja, javljaju agencije i dodaju da vođa hunte nastoji smiriti napetosti zbog masovnih prosvjeda i policijske prijetnje da će primijeniti silu.
Deseci tisuća ljudi u Mjanmaru treći dan prosvjeduju protiv svrgavanja s vlasti izabrane čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi u vojnom puču prije tjedan dana, a policija ih je upozorila da se raziđu ili će se suočiti sa silom.
Vođa hunte je u nastojanju da smiri stanje pozvao javnost da prednost daju činjenicama, a ne emocijama te je poručio da će se nakon isteka izvanrednog stanja održati slobodni izbori, a vlast će predati pobjedničkoj stranci.
U međuvremenu su Velika Britanija i EU objavile da traže zasjedanje posebne sjednice Vijeća za ljudska prava UN-a koja bi bila posvećena krizi u Mjanmaru.
Britanski veleposlanik pri UN-u u Ženevi je kazao da zahtjev za posebnom sjednicom podržava ostalih 19 članica Vijeća.
"Pritvaranje izabranih političara i civila od strane vojnih vlasti ima ozbiljne posljedice po ljudska prava u toj zemlji", kazao je veleposlanik.
Televizijski kanal MRTV, koji je pod kontrolom države, prenio je poruku vojnih vlasti koja kruži društvenim mrežama da se "moraju poduzeti akcije protiv onih koji krše zakon i koji priječe i narušavaju stabilnost države i javnu sigurnost".
Više se ne bojimo
Ovo je prvo upozorenje pučista od početka prosvjeda u subotu, no pritisak raste, a vlasti su već upotrijebile vodene topove protiv prosvjednika u mjanmarskoj prijestiolnici Naypyidawu.
Pobuna, javlja AFP, sve više raste te se u gospodarskoj prijestolnici Yangonu danas okupilo više stotina prosvjednika.
"Prije smo živjeli u strahu, no zadnjih pet godina smo imali demokratsku vladu i više se ne bojimo", kazao je 29-godišnji inženjer Kyaw Zin Tun.
Prosvjedi su održani u brojnim gradovima, od krajnjeg sjevera do juga zemlje.
Silina prosvjeda je neviđena u toj zemlji još od narodnog ustanka 2007., "Revolucije šafrana", koju je vojska brutalno ugušila.
Analitičar Soe Myint Aung objašnjava da su prosvjednici odlučni u nakani da se "ponovo uspostavi krhka ravnoteža između civilne vlade i vojske, kao što je bilo do parlamentarnih izbora u srudenome 2020., ili da ovaj puta potpuno maknu vojsku s vlasti".
Prema njegovim riječima, "rizik od represije je stvaran".
"Znamo da je vojska sposobna počiniti masovne zločine, poput ubojstva civila, prisilnih nestanaka ljudi, mučenja, proizvoljnih uhićenja", upozorava Tom Villarin iz udruženja zastupnika zemalja ASEAN-a za ljudska prava.
Danas je i papa Franjo pozvao mjanmarske vojne čelnike da oslobode političke zatvorenike i nastave "grubo prekinuti" put zemlje prema demokraciji.
Mjanmarska vojska je preuzela vlast 1. veljače zbog navodne prijevare na izborima 8. studenoga na kojima je uvjerljivo pobijedila Nacionalna liga za demokraciju (NLD).
Tog dana, čelnica Mjanmara Aung San Suu Kyi (75) i nekoliko drugih visokih dužnosnika vladajuće stranke uhićeni su u ranojutarnjoj raciji, a vojska je nekoliko sati poslije toga objavila da preuzima vlast u ovoj azijskoj državi i uvodi izvanredno stanje na godinu dana.
SAD i EU zaprijetili su sankcijama.
Mjanmar, bivša Burma, je od stjecanja neovisnosti 1948. skoro 50 godina provela pod vojnom vlašću.
Vojska je objavila da je bivša čelnica, koja se nalazi u kućnom pritvoru u rezidenciji u Naypidawu, "dobrog zdravlja".
Vojne vlasti su obećale slobodne izbore nakon završetka izvanrednog stanja.

Vojni čelnik Mjanmara, general Min Aung Hlaing, u ponedjeljak je obećao slobodne izbore nakon isteka izvanrednog stanja, javljaju agencije i dodaju da vođa hunte nastoji smiriti napetosti zbog masovnih prosvjeda i policijske prijetnje da će primijeniti silu.
Deseci tisuća ljudi u Mjanmaru treći dan prosvjeduju protiv svrgavanja s vlasti izabrane čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi u vojnom puču prije tjedan dana, a policija ih je upozorila da se raziđu ili će se suočiti sa silom.
Vođa hunte je u nastojanju da smiri stanje pozvao javnost da prednost daju činjenicama, a ne emocijama te je poručio da će se nakon isteka izvanrednog stanja održati slobodni izbori, a vlast će predati pobjedničkoj stranci.
U međuvremenu su Velika Britanija i EU objavile da traže zasjedanje posebne sjednice Vijeća za ljudska prava UN-a koja bi bila posvećena krizi u Mjanmaru.
Britanski veleposlanik pri UN-u u Ženevi je kazao da zahtjev za posebnom sjednicom podržava ostalih 19 članica Vijeća.
"Pritvaranje izabranih političara i civila od strane vojnih vlasti ima ozbiljne posljedice po ljudska prava u toj zemlji", kazao je veleposlanik.
Televizijski kanal MRTV, koji je pod kontrolom države, prenio je poruku vojnih vlasti koja kruži društvenim mrežama da se "moraju poduzeti akcije protiv onih koji krše zakon i koji priječe i narušavaju stabilnost države i javnu sigurnost".
Više se ne bojimo
Ovo je prvo upozorenje pučista od početka prosvjeda u subotu, no pritisak raste, a vlasti su već upotrijebile vodene topove protiv prosvjednika u mjanmarskoj prijestiolnici Naypyidawu.
Pobuna, javlja AFP, sve više raste te se u gospodarskoj prijestolnici Yangonu danas okupilo više stotina prosvjednika.
"Prije smo živjeli u strahu, no zadnjih pet godina smo imali demokratsku vladu i više se ne bojimo", kazao je 29-godišnji inženjer Kyaw Zin Tun.
Prosvjedi su održani u brojnim gradovima, od krajnjeg sjevera do juga zemlje.
Silina prosvjeda je neviđena u toj zemlji još od narodnog ustanka 2007., "Revolucije šafrana", koju je vojska brutalno ugušila.
Analitičar Soe Myint Aung objašnjava da su prosvjednici odlučni u nakani da se "ponovo uspostavi krhka ravnoteža između civilne vlade i vojske, kao što je bilo do parlamentarnih izbora u srudenome 2020., ili da ovaj puta potpuno maknu vojsku s vlasti".
Prema njegovim riječima, "rizik od represije je stvaran".
"Znamo da je vojska sposobna počiniti masovne zločine, poput ubojstva civila, prisilnih nestanaka ljudi, mučenja, proizvoljnih uhićenja", upozorava Tom Villarin iz udruženja zastupnika zemalja ASEAN-a za ljudska prava.
Danas je i papa Franjo pozvao mjanmarske vojne čelnike da oslobode političke zatvorenike i nastave "grubo prekinuti" put zemlje prema demokraciji.
Mjanmarska vojska je preuzela vlast 1. veljače zbog navodne prijevare na izborima 8. studenoga na kojima je uvjerljivo pobijedila Nacionalna liga za demokraciju (NLD).
Tog dana, čelnica Mjanmara Aung San Suu Kyi (75) i nekoliko drugih visokih dužnosnika vladajuće stranke uhićeni su u ranojutarnjoj raciji, a vojska je nekoliko sati poslije toga objavila da preuzima vlast u ovoj azijskoj državi i uvodi izvanredno stanje na godinu dana.
SAD i EU zaprijetili su sankcijama.
Mjanmar, bivša Burma, je od stjecanja neovisnosti 1948. skoro 50 godina provela pod vojnom vlašću.
Vojska je objavila da je bivša čelnica, koja se nalazi u kućnom pritvoru u rezidenciji u Naypidawu, "dobrog zdravlja".
Vojne vlasti su obećale slobodne izbore nakon završetka izvanrednog stanja.
