 Košarkaši Los Angeles Lakersa u petoj su utakmici finala NBA lige na svom parketu svladali Boston Celticse sa 103:98 (39:22, 16.30, 24:18, 24:28), te tako smanjili zaostatak u pobjedama na 2:3.

Najučinkovitiji u sastavu Lakersa, koji su ovom pobjedom zadržali nadu u osvajanje naslova, bili su Kobe Bryant sa 25 koševa, Lamar Odom je ubacio 20 uz 11 skokova, Pau Gasol 19 uz 13 skokova. Celticsima za osvajanje 17. naslova već u nedjelju navečer nije bilo dovoljno niti 38 poena Paula Piercea, Ray Allen je dodao 16, a Kevin Garnett 13 uz 14 skokova.

Kao i u četvrtoj utakmici Lakersi su ostvarili veliku prednost u prvoj četvrtini koja je završila njihovim vodstvom 39:22, a početkom druge prednost domaćih je narasla i na 21 razlike. No, baš kao i u četvrtoj utakmici, kada su nadoknadili zaostatak od 24 razlike i na kraju pobijedili, Celticsi su se vratili i u petoj, te se nakon trice Piercea na poluvrijeme otišlo sa samo tri poena prednosti za Lakerse.

Kada je Pierce minutu prije kraja smanjio na 97:95 među navijače Lakersa se uvukao strah da bi njihova momčad drugu utakmicu zaredom mogla ispustiti veliku prednost, pogotovo nakon što je najbolji igrač Bostona uhvatio loptu pod svojim obručem nakon promašaja Fishera. No, Celticsi nisu imali priliku za preokret jer je Bryant uspio oduzeti loptu Pierceu, te potom zakucavanjem povisiti na četiri razlike.

- Da nam je netko u trening-kampu prije početka sezone rekao: 'Morate pobijediti dvije utakmice da biste osvojili naslov, objeručke bismo to prihvatili. Imamo veliku priliku - smatra najkorisniji igrač osnovnog dijela sezone Kobe Bryant kojega ne zabrinjava niti to da su izgledi da njegova momčad ostvari dvije uzastopne pobjede u Bostonu koji je ove sezone ostvario 47 pobjeda u 54 utakmice u svom TD Northbank Gardenu iznimno male.

- Već smo igrali u negostoljubivom ozračju, neće nas to previše omesti - uvjeren je Bryant.

Još jedan statistički podatak ne daje gotovo nikakve izglede Lakersima da će ove sezone osvojiti svoj 15. naslov prvaka. Naime, nikada niti jedna momčad u NBA finalu nije preokrenula zaostatak od 1:3 u pobjedama, a pokušalo je njih 28.

- Željeli smo se vratiti kući, ali nismo željeli igrati još jednu utakmicu. Ipak, nismo u lošoj situaciji, igrat ćemo utakmicu za naslov na svom terenu, a za to smo se borili čitavu sezonu. Zato je osnovni dio toliko važan - kazao je trener Celticsa Doc Rivers.

Šesta utakmica igrat će se u utorak u Bostonu, a u slučaju pobjede Lakersa odlučujuća sedma na rasporedu je u četvrtak također u Bostonu.

 Košarkaši Los Angeles Lakersa u petoj su utakmici finala NBA lige na svom parketu svladali Boston Celticse sa 103:98 (39:22, 16.30, 24:18, 24:28), te tako smanjili zaostatak u pobjedama na 2:3.

Najučinkovitiji u sastavu Lakersa, koji su ovom pobjedom zadržali nadu u osvajanje naslova, bili su Kobe Bryant sa 25 koševa, Lamar Odom je ubacio 20 uz 11 skokova, Pau Gasol 19 uz 13 skokova. Celticsima za osvajanje 17. naslova već u nedjelju navečer nije bilo dovoljno niti 38 poena Paula Piercea, Ray Allen je dodao 16, a Kevin Garnett 13 uz 14 skokova.

Kao i u četvrtoj utakmici Lakersi su ostvarili veliku prednost u prvoj četvrtini koja je završila njihovim vodstvom 39:22, a početkom druge prednost domaćih je narasla i na 21 razlike. No, baš kao i u četvrtoj utakmici, kada su nadoknadili zaostatak od 24 razlike i na kraju pobijedili, Celticsi su se vratili i u petoj, te se nakon trice Piercea na poluvrijeme otišlo sa samo tri poena prednosti za Lakerse.

Kada je Pierce minutu prije kraja smanjio na 97:95 među navijače Lakersa se uvukao strah da bi njihova momčad drugu utakmicu zaredom mogla ispustiti veliku prednost, pogotovo nakon što je najbolji igrač Bostona uhvatio loptu pod svojim obručem nakon promašaja Fishera. No, Celticsi nisu imali priliku za preokret jer je Bryant uspio oduzeti loptu Pierceu, te potom zakucavanjem povisiti na četiri razlike.

- Da nam je netko u trening-kampu prije početka sezone rekao: 'Morate pobijediti dvije utakmice da biste osvojili naslov, objeručke bismo to prihvatili. Imamo veliku priliku - smatra najkorisniji igrač osnovnog dijela sezone Kobe Bryant kojega ne zabrinjava niti to da su izgledi da njegova momčad ostvari dvije uzastopne pobjede u Bostonu koji je ove sezone ostvario 47 pobjeda u 54 utakmice u svom TD Northbank Gardenu iznimno male.

- Već smo igrali u negostoljubivom ozračju, neće nas to previše omesti - uvjeren je Bryant.

Još jedan statistički podatak ne daje gotovo nikakve izglede Lakersima da će ove sezone osvojiti svoj 15. naslov prvaka. Naime, nikada niti jedna momčad u NBA finalu nije preokrenula zaostatak od 1:3 u pobjedama, a pokušalo je njih 28.

- Željeli smo se vratiti kući, ali nismo željeli igrati još jednu utakmicu. Ipak, nismo u lošoj situaciji, igrat ćemo utakmicu za naslov na svom terenu, a za to smo se borili čitavu sezonu. Zato je osnovni dio toliko važan - kazao je trener Celticsa Doc Rivers.

Šesta utakmica igrat će se u utorak u Bostonu, a u slučaju pobjede Lakersa odlučujuća sedma na rasporedu je u četvrtak također u Bostonu.
