Novi izbornik imenovanje je dočekao u Našicama na redovnom poslu u Nexeu. Hrvoje Horvat nije djelovao iznenađeno, zapravo je očekivao ovakav raspet. Pa evo što kaže nakon što će postati drugi Horvat na čelu reprezentacije, jer 1991. na prvom okupljanju tim je vodio njegov otac, pišu Sportske novosti.
Baš lijepo, dva izbornika iz jedne kuće. Jako sam sretan i ponosan na to.
Trenutak u kojem ste izabrani nije nimalo jednostavan?
- Trenutak je uvijek isti, samo je pitanje kako gleda na njega. Ja ga gledam pozitivno i za mene je uvijek pravi, jer sam to želio cijeli život. Velika je čast dobiti takvu ulogu.
Pritisak olimpijskih kvalifikacija je veliki, društvo s kojim ćemo igrati je opasno, a vrijeme za promijeniti stvari iz Egipta svodi se na 40 dana razgovora i tri dana okupljanja prije odlaska u Francusku?
- Volim pritisak, izvlači iz mene maksimum. To me kao trenera motivira i čini boljim.
Nemate visoki rejting, ali imate dobro reprezentativno iskustvo?
- Recimo da imam put kojim sam išao. Vodio sam kadete na SP i EP, pa sam to imao s juniorima, pa sam tri godine bio kao pomoćnik uz Linu Červara. Ovo je sada na neki način zaokružena cjelina i korak prema naprijed. Na tom putu ima puno zamki, sve nosi svoju problematiku i mislim da sam spreman za ovu funkciju i znanjem i iskustvom koje sam stekao.
Kako dignuti tim koji je u Egiptu izgledao jako loše?
- Jako dobro znam stanje unutar tima. Neke sam trenirao dok su bili mladi, neke sam trenirao čak u kampu HRS-a dok nisu ni znali da će biti reprezentativci. Neće tu biti velikog treninga, definitivno. Treba voditi brigu da se okupe najbolji koji su zdravi, ja se nadam da će biti svi takvi. I psihološki podići momčad, postaviti stvari na mjesto i maksimalnu.
Kako diše momčad, djelovali su tužno povratku iz Egipta?
- Momčad diše pozitivno, svjesni su da je podbačaj bio niti su oni tražili alibi. Oni su vrhunski profesionalci, željeli su najbolje. Dogodilo nam se ono čega smo se realno pribojavali, a to je zdravstveni karton koji je bio jako narušen. Sada nam treba i emocija, moramo se dobro pozabaviti s tim pitanjem uoči sljedećeg nastupa, jer ovaj tim živi s navijačima.
Samostalno ćete voditi tim, dosad set bili pomoćnik. To mijenja puno stvari?
- Svaka funkcija nosi svoje i svaka ima svoju problematiku. Za mene je da budem iskren jako teško biti pomoćni trener. Nisam bio nikad nigdje pomoćni trener, ni u reprezentacijama ni u Dubravi ni u Nexeu i mislim da će mi ova nova funkcija biti prirodnija i lakša. Odgovornosti se ne bojim.
Morat ćete si naći pomoćnika?
- Bit će nekih promjena, sigurno, ali mi treba malo vremena da kroz idući tjedan to postavim na mjesto. Ne bih sada o imenima.
U čemu je bio glavni problem u Egiptu?
- Naše udarne igle sa zadnjeg Eura su bile ozlijeđene i bolesne neposredno uoči SP. Nismo uspjeli standardizirati napadačku varijantu, a bez toga mladi igrači teško mogu odigrati na jednom takvom natjecanju na visokoj razini. Situacija je bila složena, jer jednostavno nemamo tako široku lepezu kao neki drugi… Drugo, falila nam je okomica u napadu, bili smo poprilično spori, a toga u današnjem rukometu nema, kada ne možeš probijati obranu protivnika ne možeš ništa. Robujemo nekim stvarima, vremena se mijenjaju, svako nosi svoje, a bez brzih i prodornih igrača jako teško igrati danas. Pogledajte Dansku, Švedsku, uostalom sve koji su sada vrhu, pogledate momčadi koje su se penjale na europski klupski tron. Nisu više samo veliki i jaki zakon svega.
Što će biti s Nexeom?
- Mislim da je logično da neke stvari treba odraditi profesionalno, ali i to da takve dvije funkcije na relaciji Našice – Zagreb ne bih bilo dobro obavljati. Čim Nexe pronađe rješenje napustit ću Našice i posvetiti se novom poslu.
Treba vratiti i atmosferu oko tima?
- Apsolutno, to su stvari koje su uvijek važne. U segmentu navijača sam već rekao, a i u svim drugim segmentima je tako.
Dakle, možemo očekivati drugačiju Hrvatsku uskoro u Montpellieru?
- U to sam uvjeren i veselim se novom izazovu – zaključio je Hrvoje Horvat u svom premijernom izborničkom nastupu.

Novi izbornik imenovanje je dočekao u Našicama na redovnom poslu u Nexeu. Hrvoje Horvat nije djelovao iznenađeno, zapravo je očekivao ovakav raspet. Pa evo što kaže nakon što će postati drugi Horvat na čelu reprezentacije, jer 1991. na prvom okupljanju tim je vodio njegov otac, pišu Sportske novosti.
Baš lijepo, dva izbornika iz jedne kuće. Jako sam sretan i ponosan na to.
Trenutak u kojem ste izabrani nije nimalo jednostavan?
- Trenutak je uvijek isti, samo je pitanje kako gleda na njega. Ja ga gledam pozitivno i za mene je uvijek pravi, jer sam to želio cijeli život. Velika je čast dobiti takvu ulogu.
Pritisak olimpijskih kvalifikacija je veliki, društvo s kojim ćemo igrati je opasno, a vrijeme za promijeniti stvari iz Egipta svodi se na 40 dana razgovora i tri dana okupljanja prije odlaska u Francusku?
- Volim pritisak, izvlači iz mene maksimum. To me kao trenera motivira i čini boljim.
Nemate visoki rejting, ali imate dobro reprezentativno iskustvo?
- Recimo da imam put kojim sam išao. Vodio sam kadete na SP i EP, pa sam to imao s juniorima, pa sam tri godine bio kao pomoćnik uz Linu Červara. Ovo je sada na neki način zaokružena cjelina i korak prema naprijed. Na tom putu ima puno zamki, sve nosi svoju problematiku i mislim da sam spreman za ovu funkciju i znanjem i iskustvom koje sam stekao.
Kako dignuti tim koji je u Egiptu izgledao jako loše?
- Jako dobro znam stanje unutar tima. Neke sam trenirao dok su bili mladi, neke sam trenirao čak u kampu HRS-a dok nisu ni znali da će biti reprezentativci. Neće tu biti velikog treninga, definitivno. Treba voditi brigu da se okupe najbolji koji su zdravi, ja se nadam da će biti svi takvi. I psihološki podići momčad, postaviti stvari na mjesto i maksimalnu.
Kako diše momčad, djelovali su tužno povratku iz Egipta?
- Momčad diše pozitivno, svjesni su da je podbačaj bio niti su oni tražili alibi. Oni su vrhunski profesionalci, željeli su najbolje. Dogodilo nam se ono čega smo se realno pribojavali, a to je zdravstveni karton koji je bio jako narušen. Sada nam treba i emocija, moramo se dobro pozabaviti s tim pitanjem uoči sljedećeg nastupa, jer ovaj tim živi s navijačima.
Samostalno ćete voditi tim, dosad set bili pomoćnik. To mijenja puno stvari?
- Svaka funkcija nosi svoje i svaka ima svoju problematiku. Za mene je da budem iskren jako teško biti pomoćni trener. Nisam bio nikad nigdje pomoćni trener, ni u reprezentacijama ni u Dubravi ni u Nexeu i mislim da će mi ova nova funkcija biti prirodnija i lakša. Odgovornosti se ne bojim.
Morat ćete si naći pomoćnika?
- Bit će nekih promjena, sigurno, ali mi treba malo vremena da kroz idući tjedan to postavim na mjesto. Ne bih sada o imenima.
U čemu je bio glavni problem u Egiptu?
- Naše udarne igle sa zadnjeg Eura su bile ozlijeđene i bolesne neposredno uoči SP. Nismo uspjeli standardizirati napadačku varijantu, a bez toga mladi igrači teško mogu odigrati na jednom takvom natjecanju na visokoj razini. Situacija je bila složena, jer jednostavno nemamo tako široku lepezu kao neki drugi… Drugo, falila nam je okomica u napadu, bili smo poprilično spori, a toga u današnjem rukometu nema, kada ne možeš probijati obranu protivnika ne možeš ništa. Robujemo nekim stvarima, vremena se mijenjaju, svako nosi svoje, a bez brzih i prodornih igrača jako teško igrati danas. Pogledajte Dansku, Švedsku, uostalom sve koji su sada vrhu, pogledate momčadi koje su se penjale na europski klupski tron. Nisu više samo veliki i jaki zakon svega.
Što će biti s Nexeom?
- Mislim da je logično da neke stvari treba odraditi profesionalno, ali i to da takve dvije funkcije na relaciji Našice – Zagreb ne bih bilo dobro obavljati. Čim Nexe pronađe rješenje napustit ću Našice i posvetiti se novom poslu.
Treba vratiti i atmosferu oko tima?
- Apsolutno, to su stvari koje su uvijek važne. U segmentu navijača sam već rekao, a i u svim drugim segmentima je tako.
Dakle, možemo očekivati drugačiju Hrvatsku uskoro u Montpellieru?
- U to sam uvjeren i veselim se novom izazovu – zaključio je Hrvoje Horvat u svom premijernom izborničkom nastupu.
