Švicarska tenisačica Belinda Benčič (24) osvojila je naslov olimpijske pobjednice u Tokiju, ona je u finalu nakon dva i pol sata svladala Čehinju Marketu Vondroušovu (22) sa 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.

Nekad najbolja juniorka svijeta Benčič je tijekom dosadašnje karijere osvojila četiri WTA naslova, dok joj je najbolji rezultat na nekom "grand slam" turniru bilo polufinale US Opena iz 2019. godine. No, u Tokiju je u proteklih tjedan dana u odličnoj formi o čemu svjedoči i podatak kako će u nedjelju imati priliku osvojiti još jedno zlato jer će s Viktorijom Golubić igrati i u finalu ženskih parova, a s druge strane mreže ponovno će joj biti suparnice iz Češke, prve nositeljice turnira Barbora Krejčikova i Katerina Siniakova.

U slučaju pobjede švicarskog para, Benčič će ponoviti uspjeh Amerikanke Serene Williams koja je u Londonu 2012. osvojila zlato i u pojedinačnoj i u konkurenciji parova.

Vondroušova je, pak, dosada osvojila tek jedan WTA tnriru, u Bielu 2017. godine, no prije dvije godine je bila finalistica Roland Garrosa.

Ranije u subotu je najbolja ukrajinska tenisačica Elina Svitolina preokretom došla do pobjede 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 nad Kazahstankom Jelenom Ribakinom i tako osvojila brončanu medalju.

Švicarska tenisačica Belinda Benčič (24) osvojila je naslov olimpijske pobjednice u Tokiju, ona je u finalu nakon dva i pol sata svladala Čehinju Marketu Vondroušovu (22) sa 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.

Nekad najbolja juniorka svijeta Benčič je tijekom dosadašnje karijere osvojila četiri WTA naslova, dok joj je najbolji rezultat na nekom "grand slam" turniru bilo polufinale US Opena iz 2019. godine. No, u Tokiju je u proteklih tjedan dana u odličnoj formi o čemu svjedoči i podatak kako će u nedjelju imati priliku osvojiti još jedno zlato jer će s Viktorijom Golubić igrati i u finalu ženskih parova, a s druge strane mreže ponovno će joj biti suparnice iz Češke, prve nositeljice turnira Barbora Krejčikova i Katerina Siniakova.

U slučaju pobjede švicarskog para, Benčič će ponoviti uspjeh Amerikanke Serene Williams koja je u Londonu 2012. osvojila zlato i u pojedinačnoj i u konkurenciji parova.

Vondroušova je, pak, dosada osvojila tek jedan WTA tnriru, u Bielu 2017. godine, no prije dvije godine je bila finalistica Roland Garrosa.

Ranije u subotu je najbolja ukrajinska tenisačica Elina Svitolina preokretom došla do pobjede 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 nad Kazahstankom Jelenom Ribakinom i tako osvojila brončanu medalju.

Belinda Benčić osvojila naslov olimpijske pobjednice nakon što je u dramatičnom finalu svladala Marketu Vondroušovu

Švicarska tenisačica Belinda Benčič (24) osvojila je naslov olimpijske pobjednice u Tokiju, ona je u finalu nakon dva i pol sata svladala Čehinju Marketu Vondroušovu (22) sa 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.

Nekad najbolja juniorka svijeta Benčič je tijekom dosadašnje karijere osvojila četiri WTA naslova, dok joj je najbolji rezultat na nekom "grand slam" turniru bilo polufinale US Opena iz 2019. godine. No, u Tokiju je u proteklih tjedan dana u odličnoj formi o čemu svjedoči i podatak kako će u nedjelju imati priliku osvojiti još jedno zlato jer će s Viktorijom Golubić igrati i u finalu ženskih parova, a s druge strane mreže ponovno će joj biti suparnice iz Češke, prve nositeljice turnira Barbora Krejčikova i Katerina Siniakova.
